EW Reveals New BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE Scene Details

Following on from those fresh new Batman v Superman stills released hours ago, vague descriptions of three intense scenes have surfaced online; two of them focus on Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne, with a third detailing the film's titular smackdown between "pop culture icons"...

Entertainment Weekly's special San Diego Comic-Con issue contains plenty of new details from Zack Snyder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the magazine (via ComicBook.com) have provided some tantilasing descriptions of three scenes. The first is set within Wayne Manor, described as a "derelict husk" with "strewn leaves across the floor."

Bruce Wayne (Ben Affleck) and his loyal butler, Alred (Jeremy Irons), are gravely intoning their lines into a burned-out fireplace, as Bruce prepares for his Valley of Elah moment with Superman. The billionaire vigilante appears weary but determined, not unlike the actor portraying him.

The second description is of the massively anticipated showdown between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, Superman (Henry Cavill).

In his editing suite in Pasadena last month, Snyder showed off early passes of the money sequence, a rainy rooftop battle between the two capes. There's an undeniable thrill to watching these pop culture icons go at it--throwing each other through walls and skylights.

The final scene delves into Batman's motivation in the film, as he and Alfred discuss the implications of taking on such a powerful force as Superman.

Snyder also reveals a scene in the Batcave where Bruce Wayne outlines his motivations to a skeptical Alfred, a bit of realpolitik reasoning that weighs the morality of a preemptive strike on Superman against even the minimal chance of humanity's destruction.

So, nothing too detailed, but exciting nonetheless! What do you make of these descriptions?

Hey @staypuffed, great article! You may want to consider putting "spoiler" somewhere in the headline. You know how folks are on this site.

@SuperCat
Thanks, man! Personally, I don't think these are very spoiler-y, since they're really loose descriptions, but if others have a problem, then I'd happily modify the teaser...

But, Affleck is annoying, not saying that he'll be annoying in the movie but, I just watched that Bill Maher debate, and, ugh

With that said, I'm out

People give Snyder a lot of shit for Man of Steel, but my God this movie sounds awesome. The trinity poster was just perfect and summed up all of my excitement, what's even more baffling is that this is the second comic book movie of 2016 of like 7 films, that's pretty early, I hope that 2016 is strong all the way through, due to it's very strong start with Deadpool, Batman V Superman, and Civil War whihc sell themselves based on either the characters alone or just the massive blockbuster, action scale of the films considering the russos and Zack deliver some of the best action sequences in a comic book film.

This sounds like its the same one scene. Bruce and Alfred by the Wayne Manor fireplace debating whether or not he should preemptively take on Superman. That middle "scene" is last year's Comic-Con footage.

@DrKinsolving He just watched his whole plans crumble lol. This dude wants to be a congressman badly. Divorce, and the "Finding your Roots" controversy. things are falling apart for Ben. he needs to be careful or he's going to turn into Sean Penn.

This is going to be beyond epic.

CW and DOJ in one year!

Jeremy Irons as Alfred is probably one of my favourite CBM castings of all time.

This is pure pop culture history being made. Two of the FIRST comic book superheroes together on the screen for the first time. There are A LOT of comic book heroes out there, many completely unknown to the general world at large, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone in the civilized world who doesn't know who Superman and Batman is. This is epic!

" weighs the morality of a preemptive strike on Superman against even the minimal chance of humanity's destruction."

Or, in other words, "They fight for no reason."
