if the first avenger was a bit better he'd have the best superhero trilogy of all time .... especially for character development

@knocturnalzen10 - The only thing I'd change in TFA would be to have caps also fighting against proper Nazi. Besides that I think it's a very competent origin film.

@Fogs - i thought it was pretty well done for the scope and time frame we're looking at , small things missed out for me and i felt hugo was limited in his role imo

@knocturnalzen10 - I agree. The first two acts were amazing. But the film started falling off after he gets his Cap uniform and that awful 'action montage' starts. It was like watching 2 different films.

All the Hail Hydra scenes were also quite cringey. Especially with them shooting lasers and everything in a 1940's setting.

Had they focused more on just Cap fighting Nazis, it would've been a much better film. Those first two acts really saved the film.

@knocturnalzen10 - I might have a bit of an "out there" opinion, but I personally think that TFA is one of the best MCU films. Great characters, villain, and atmosphere.

@Fogs - Agreed. I also would've focused on his relationship with Bucky more, considering how prominent it was in the sequels. Overall, big fan of the movie.

I really want to see more flashbacks of him in ww2 fighting.

@CurlyBill - taskmaster said that was cap at his peak skill wise ... that would be cool to see other footage especially when he told fury they did stuff that made them have trouble sleeping at night.

@CurlyBill - I would not mind seeing some Invaders made up of the Captain, Namor, the original Human Torch and Iron Fist fighting together in WWII.

I feel like those grounded takes on the costume would have been Cap's final look if the character was under FOX.

first avenger is the most underrated MCU film. i have a real soft spot for it and really enjoy it. it’s a great costume design, too.

Just rewatched the Avengers and I have no idea how we went from this helmet/cowl to that one. I'm so happy they've since corrected the error.

Definitely the most underrated film in Phase One, and one of the most underrated in the whole MCU. Loved the almost Indiana Jones vibe it had at times and Chris Evans was literally the perfect choice for Steve as we've seen in every appearance since. Cap probably has the strongest trilogy in the MCU for my money - possibly one of the strongest superhero trilogies period.
