How Captain America: The First Avenger COULD Tie Into Thor

How Captain America: The First Avenger COULD Tie Into Thor

Keep in mind this is just a possibility, but a damn good one with possible proof!

Joe Johnston, director of 'Captain America: The First Avenger', told our very own Ed Gross that there would be easter eggs in the Cap film that would connect it too all the other Avenger lead up films ('Iron Man', 'Thor', 'The Incredible Hulk'), which made us all as pumped up even more for the First Avenger.

Now as I was thinking of possible things that could connect Cap to the other Avengers, I came across something... now Joe Johnston said there would be SEVERAL things that would connect the film to Kenneth Branagh's 'Thor', and I think I found what one of those several things could be... DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

THE COSMIC CUBE? Could be!

Today I re-read the interview and I remembered that Loki was holding something that looked like the Cosmic Cube in the leaked 'Thor' trailer, and I also remembered that the footage shown at Comic-Con 2010 for 'Captain America: The First Avenger' showed Red Skull searching for the Cosmic Cube.

I mean, keeping in mind there will be several hints to 'Thor' in the film and it will only be what... possibly a two and a half hours, maybe less? How many hints could they fit in really?

Who knows, being that Red Skull is searching for the Cosmic Cube while Loki is in possession of it, maybe the Cube will set up a partnership between Red Skull and Loki? Like Johnston said, there would be events in 'Cap' that will be dealt with in 'The Avengers', so maybe the Cosmic Cube will be a big part of 'The Avengers'?

of course it will be the cube. we all know that from the cap teaser description. it shows red skull searching in the ruins of asgard for the cube in odin's treasure room. where the infinity gauntlet will be too.

Yeah, that is actually the Casket of Ancient Winters in front of Loki, not a Cosmic Cube. Pietro already posted what kind of connection will we see in each films.

I can't wait to see both movies next summer!

The thing I peeve at with Marvel Studios is the pummelling references. While Captain America seems to have ties to all of them, Thor, in different themes, likely won't be included. And I'm happy about that, so we can leave them in their INDIVIDUAL films to breath. Clever as they can be, Iron Man 2 barely had screen time with the title character. There could be some, I'll admit.

Just a suggestion for anybody posting that reads comics and watches these movies: EVERY storyline out there has crossovers that make references to other storylines and characters. ALL ENSEMBLE STORY CROSSOVERS DO THIS. Avengers IS A CROSSOVER. There will HAVE to be references in the individual characters' storylines for the CROSSOVER to make sense. You've read them! Get over the movie versions! GET OVER IT!

Ok, so in the footage shown at Comic-Con of Red Skull finding the Cosmic Cube it's set in 1942. Thor takes place in the relative present day. Did the Cube somehow end up back in Asgard? Why is the light from the Cube blue in the Cap footage and green in the Thor footage. I honestly don't think that's the Cube in the Thor footage. It's something else all together.

In an Invaders comic book, Hitler and his scientists used super-sciences and equipments stolen from aliens to bring Thor to Earth, and had Thor battle Captain America and the Invaders.

I'm beginning to hate Easter Eggs, these movies should be about story, action, adventure and character, NOT silly tidbits to prove we're smart and savvy, because we can spot the Easter Eggs.

But Captain America is during WW2 and Thor is happening now... So how is the Red Skull trying to find the cube if no one knows about Asgard during WW2?

If it was the other way around then maybe...
