His muscle mass has decreased a lot since they stopped filming so I imagine they're going to beef him up digitally for this scene.

How fast will SuperheroStuff start screen-printing these t-shirts?

Great shots BTW

ZeroEthic he most likely will be wearing a costume that will enhance his physique, like in Dark Knight. and if his too big the costume will look silly.

@ZeroEthic, I dont think his mass has decreased that much imo but even if I`m wrong that might have me worried because The Avengers is going to start filming soon and he would need to hit the gym like NOW! lol

the scene looks to me he's been thawed out & his in panic mode,a man in the wrong place in time.

looking forward to seeing another trailer before its release.

@Marvel 72
My thoughts exactly.

He probably bust out of somewhere in a panic, although New York seems like a weird place for him to be in.

Could also be that they brought him there to show him that he's not in the same America anymore and he flips a little bit and takes a jog lol

Nice. Would be crazy if the post-credit scene has Stark, Dr. Banner, Thor, Hawkeye and Dr. Pym in a room getting acquainted. Then silence as Cap walks in wearing the new uniform with his shield strapped to his back. He then says, "AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!"

@marvel 72

more then likely they woke him up after being frozen. Hes probably frightened at this moment. They will probably elaborate more on this in The Avengers and Cap sequels

What Marvel says, he looks like in little shock and the clothes of the people around. I´m glad to see that.

I like how the scene appears to echo the scene of Cap running through 1942 Brooklyn chasing Heinz Krueger.

@Zero

I agree his muscle mass has decreased significantly since they started filming, but I think they may have done this for a reason. Pure speculation here, but if this is in fact the scene after he thaws out, then it would make sense for there to be some loss in muscle mass. I mean he'd been frozen for over 60 years. Granted he'd be in suspended animation and the Super Soldier Serum would keep him alive and in near peak physical condition, there would still be some drop off in physical size due to lack of use. Now if they waited purposely to film this scene so he could drop a little in size, I think its pretty awesome that they thought to pay this much attention to details! Not like in the new X-men movie where we see Magneto holding on to a metal plane for dear life....FAIL!

If this is by chance a different scene, then I'm not too sure what they're going to do. They may have to digitally enhance just for the sake of continuity.

And who cares if Evans dropped a few pounds! He's still in fantastic, athletic shape!

No, they won't. Would it make sense he's as buffed today as he was the first time they gave him a serum 70 years ago?

I really hope that Iron Man and/or the Hulk do make a cameo in the post credits scene. That would make my day. Maybe Nick Fury introducing the team to Captain America. Perhaps just introducing Tony Stark to Captain America. I really do hope though Rufflo gets some screen time before The Avengers.

i think they're even saying he doesn't end up in a block of ice in the flick. survives in hibernation inside of a pod or something, so he could easily come out looking like this and be all freaked out by times square. or gets out of the hospital like others have said.

where is shield based in this universe? were fury and stark in a satellite california base in IM2 or is it based on the west coast? seems like they would be based in DC, not in NYC. hope we actually see shield hq in one of these 2011 flicks.

SSR = Strategic Scientific Reserve ... which becomes SHIELD in mordern times

like OSS in WW2 became the CIA.

and yes its in the modern times after Steve wakes up... im thinking he escapes a shield facility or transport and Fury confronts him dazed and confused in the middle of the street.

As for being in the old clothes i think... and this is just a theory... like in the miniseries "The Twelve" modern people unfreeze these old heroes but try to convince them its still 1945 by dressing up a hospital in the style before breaking the news to them.. and they promptly escape and are met with the sight of the modern world

@manthingnitsuj

Think about it, NYC is where most of the major events on Earth occur in the Marvel Universe. It makes sense that S.H.I.E.L.D. would choose it as their main HQ location. Can't wait to see the Helicarrier in The Avengers..

He aint that beefy looking in these latest photos. As some of you already said.

He looks normal.

Guess they can explain that with his 70 years frozen.

These are probably the reshoots since he looks a little bit smaller. They might enhance him afterward so it's consistent.
