Filming over in England for one of Marvel Studios' much anticipated films, Captain America: The First Avenger is well underway. And while the production progress in UK cities Manchester & Liverpool are well known , the crew are prepping for shooting in Caerwent, South Wales.

And the folks over at Marvel Movie News, has learned from their verified sources, that the sequence being filmed will be set in a camp for prisoners of war; POW camp, and will cover a ‘huge area’ of the base’s grounds. In addition to that, MMN says filming will involve rooftops, searchlights, gunfire and ‘major pyro’, which apparently will include a large stunt set-piece.

Filming in Manchester wrapped on schedule yesterday, so the production’s focus is now in Liverpool, where some filming has already taken place. And filming dates for Caerwent, will include nightshoots on the 25th, 26th, 27th, 28th, 29th of this month, proceeding on the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd in November.

And the Joe Johnston-directed & Chris Evans-starrer Captain America: The First Avenger forces into theaters July 22, 2011 in 3D!

Thanks for the info DCMF! :D Looks like it might be easier than I thought to get some set pictures if what they're filming there is going to be that extensive!

Thanks Josh! Good lucky buddy!:)

It's weird how both First Class & First Avenger will be shooting at POW camps. I see this as a sign from the almighty one that Wolverine should have the littlest cameo in Cap's movie.

Awesome find bud! From everything I've seen so far, film looks great. I just hope that the final product will be epic as it should be.

That might be the case with wolverine but the fact remains that they were partners. So i think there will be a pretty decent cameo, if not oh well die hard fans should know he was there anyway!
But what stresses me is the abscence of talk about the super serum process and if it is similair to the original failed movie and most comics and graph nov's, or if there going the route from the x-men where cap dies slowly w/o further injections of the serum.

And on top of my last discussion d/w bout Wolverine most likely he will be in a Avengers movie thanks to a crazy re-awakend renegade robot(TESS-One "Total Elimination of Super Soldiers").
@-;--- here's a rose for anybody who didnt think about that.

@PrimeDetective: its gonna be more like the normal serum history not like X-Men: Evolution.

I just wonder if they are going to treat the serum like the did in The Incredible Hulk.. if Rogers only has to walk into a chamber to get changed then Blonsky got the short end of the deal with those big frikkin needles.

England got its own little marvel universe going at the moment.. but the chances of actually seeing any logan like character is practically zero.. plus Mutants were just a cop out in the marvel universe anyway. even stan lee amitted they only came about cus he couldnt be bothered to think of origins for a whole class of teenage heroes.

*Directive not detective ;p
If they go the path of the 1st attempted film there gunna have some issues to resolve like the polish/german theory's about redskull and if all there doing is straight forward going to push red skull into the first 30 minutes of the film it will be a shot in the dark for fans.
As for the casting i wish i didnt see this but no wolverine :(.....

Chris Evans ... Steve Rogers / Captain America

Samuel L. Jackson ... Nick Fury

Hugo Weaving ... Johann Schmidt / The Red Skull

Tommy Lee Jones ... Col. Chester Phillips

Stanley Tucci ... Abraham Erskine

Dominic Cooper ... Howard Stark

Hayley Atwell ... Peggy Carter

Sebastian Stan ... James 'Bucky' Barnes

Natalie Dormer ... Private Lorraine

Neal McDonough ... Dum Dum Dugan

Toby Jones ... Arnim Zola

JJ Feild ... Montgomery Falsworth

Anatole Taubman ... Roeder

Christian Black ... Sgt. Buck

Patrick Monckeberg ... Manager Velt

Duncan JC Mais ... US Marine
.........................................
As for England i'm kinda speachless on that.
And even though Stan Lee is a god in his own rights he didnt even come up with most of the characters. They were in collaboration with several artists, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko.

The guy even looks like a young Tony Stark. So good move on the casting there.
