CAPTAIN MARVEL Concept Art Includes A Surprise "Cameo" From Marvel Comics Villain M.O.D.O.K.

Captain Marvel concept art shared by Marvel Studios artist Rodney Fuentebella reveals Carol Danvers in an underground fight club, and one of the characters in attendance is none other than M.O.D.O.K.!

Marvel Studios concept artist Rodney Fuentebella has shared some of his work from 2019's Captain Marvel, showing Carol Danvers competing in what looks like a Kree underground fight club.

That alone is intriguing, especially as the hero is wearing her final costume. What would lead to Captain Marvel finding herself in a location as grim as this one isn't clear, but the Kree watching on seem to be having a good time. Perhaps in an early draft of the screenplay, she was going to be captured and sent here by Yon-Rogg? 

Regardless of what the answer may be, a familiar face can be seen in the crowd: M.O.D.O.K.!

Chances are he was only thrown in as a fun Easter Egg by Fuentebella as it's unlikely Marvel Studios would waste him on a moment like this. Recently, we learned that there might be plans for M.O.D.O.K. to appear in Ant-Man 3, though that hasn't been confirmed and is just a rumor right now.

Update: there is over 20 races that are drawn blue in the comics, someone over in the art department definitely has a fetish for blue people.

But a hell of a lot of the popular ones, seemingly overlapping with the earliest ones, are indeed blue...lol...

@Se4M4NSt4ine - I was talking to this old black dude while I xrayed his knee, security guard at a Viking Range catfish farm slash super expensive refrigerator range joint, he said white and Hindi people tend to have the degrees and higher up white collar jobs there, not that black people don’t, but he said they don’t wAnna work so Mexican folks do, and he never has security problems with them. It’s cuz they’re green. No nose to stick in other people’s business. Lotta white south African refugees working farms here, and they come legally being so far from the US. My coworker sponsored a couple, horrific stories man. I’m a black Cuban. Just making an observation: let’s love our neighbors like we love ourselves. There’s no color or country or whatever in that statement but there is location. Neighbor means those close to us. Those we encounter! That makes it a lot easier. In theory lol

@Se4M4NSt4ine - right I don’t mind disagreement, as a Christian I’m gonna disagree with most people, but that don’t mean name calling and fighting lol! Jesus said love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, AND love your neighbor as yourself, He didn’t say BUT love your neighbor as yourself, as if we have to choose between God and our neighbor. It’s gotta be both, you miss one you missed both. But the as yourself part is often missed too, or it’s the only part people see! They either don’t know how to love themselves therefore they can’t properly love their neighbor, or they love themselves and stop there lol. Too much of that man, way too much of that

It is a bit of a shame that we never got to see Viers doing stuff like this in the beginning of CM. Even if just to show what mess she was getting herself into in order to avoid dealing with her feelings about her amnesia
