CAPTAIN MARVEL: Has Samuel L. Jackson Revealed A First Look At Carol Danvers' Comic Accurate Helmet?

We've seen a lot of leaked promo art for Captain Marvel, none of which showed her comic book helmet. However, Samuel L. Jackson may have inadvertently let the cat out of the bag with a social media post...

When Ms. Marvel was given a new look, she was outfitted with a helmet that she's only really worn sporadically since. It has, however, become a staple of her adventures in outer space so it makes sense that Marvel Studios would give it to her in the upcoming movie. We've seen no sign of it up until now and it wasn't featured in leaked promo art but Samuel L. Jackson may have inadvertently revealed it!

As you can see below, the actor took to Instagram to share a photo of a t-shirt he's been given by Captain Marvel's visual effects team and it features a shot of the hero wearing that helmet and rocking a mohawk. While set photos have shown her with a typical 1990s hairstyle, it's entirely feasible she could change that in outer space, especially as that style would be very 90s and look really cool.

It's also possible that this is just a random piece of artwork and that she won't be wearing the helmet when she finds herself caught right in the middle of the Kree/Skrull War! What do you guys think?

Looks pretty official, I'm having trouble placing that font but I'm pretty sure I've seen it in some official capacity. Was it the font in the Captain Marvel announcement logo?

Either ways, Captain Marvel's debut in the MCU looks promising.

@RageDriver2401 - she'll wear it just as much as Thor wears his

@RageDriver2401 - ....guess Stark's father and Agent Carter should appear in this movie in some capacity!

@incredibleTalk - I think it depends on how early in the 90s this is set.

Never cared for the helmet/Mohawk. Hopefully it isn’t part of the movie.

@deepee3 - I'm with you. I know the helmet is Kree looking and the mohawk is supposed to be like her take on the fin the Kree wear on their helmets, but still....I never liked the helmeted mohawk look on her.

@deepee3 - That's not a mohawk, it just "shades" to the space. I think she has the helmet few times in the movie when she is on earth and don't wan't to be recognized.

@deepee3 - Hopefully it is, I love the look.

I don't really feel like the helmet is necessary for the character, like even characters like Captain America and Star Lord - who were almost always seen with their masks on traditionally in the comics when superheroing - feel perfectly acceptable maskless in the MCU 75% of the time. If anything maybe Captain Marvel's helmet should be treated like Star Lord's mask where she must uses it to survive uninhabitable environments.

@AC1 - Thor should wear his helmet

@AC1 - "If anything maybe Captain Marvel's helmet should be treated like Star Lord's mask where she must uses it to survive uninhabitable environments."

That's pretty much how she used it in the comics, it's basically space goggles, but then again, we can't really base realism on Star-Lord's space gear, since he's often seen, in the comic or in the movies, rocking a t-shirt or naked neck and hands while in space at -100°. And when his faceplate is [frick]ed, he just holds his breath and navigates towards his ship with his eyes opened as if he were in a swimming pool, so…

@zeon00 - I loved the version in Ragnarok so yeah, I'd love it if he started wearing that more into battle (along with the more rough around the edges gladiator suit rather than the full and clean version).

@Asturgis - fair point, I feel like it may have been somewhat excusable in GOTG Vol 1 due to his Celestial heritage basically granting him immortality. I also feel like that might be why the aero-rig thing was introduced in Vol 2.

Will have to check, but the lettering looks like the same font for the logo, so this may be official artwork for the film. Was about to tear Wilding a new one for pulling some bullshit, but this might actually be legit, and not just clickbait.

Go maskless, the mohawk is stupid

I like the helmet for when she's in space vacuum, the "mohawk" only if her actual hair is kept long. But anyway, this is pretty thin to speculate on from just a t-shirt, VFX team shirt or not.

@Zer0squad - But don't let this distract you from the fact that we have still seen no sign of THAT SASH! >:(

@Zer0squad - If she doesn't have the sash for at least one of her costumes, we riot!

Although in this leaked concept art, she definitely has it, so I bet it'll make an appearance.

If it's the movie it will be for all of five seconds. Marvel never like to have their actors faces covered up for too long - in Black Panther his mask was dissolving away every other scene
