Does Marvel Want Beyonce For Captain Marvel? They Should!

News broke earlier this summer that Marvel Studios would love to have Beyonce star in one of it's films. This is what was reported by the daily star by bossip staff:

The Daily Star is reporting that Marvel Studios wants singer and part-time actress Beyonce Knowles to join the Avengers.

“We would love to have Beyonce on board, almost certainly as a newcomer to the screen from Marvel’s existing catalog of comic book characters,” an unnamed senior executive at Disney told The Daily Star.

And why wouldn't they want to have one of the world's most insanely popular superstars immerse in one of their films? Beyonce is arguably one of the biggest female stars in the world...hands down...she may be the biggest! Not to mention she is an actress also, along with selling over 118 million records world wide. DAMN!! That's crazy...talking about bringing fans out to the movie theaters!! But who would she play? Oh yeah didn't Marvel announce Captain Marvel? LOL! There you have it. The only character big enough and important enough for the Queen of Pop. Let's take a look at a few things and the importance of such a move.

Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios pride themselves on their search of diversity in their films with the announcement of Black Panther the companies first black lead superhero movie and Captain Marvel it's first female lead superhero movie. Now check this out Marvel doesn't have a black female character in this movie universe at all at this point. I don't even remember seeing a black female in their movies period, and with an already crowed white female superhero presence, do you really need Captain Marvel to be another one? Let's name them...Black Widow, Peggy Carter, Sharon Carter, Scarlett Witch, Agent Hill, and countless side characters. It would be foolish to waste Beyonce's impact and making her Captain Marvel would be a bold statement, daring DC and other companies to top that (with your wonder woman DC). Wasn't Beyonce eyeing Wonder Woman at one point? I remember that. Plus with the absence of Storm at Marvel Studios Beyonce as Captain Marvel can also lead into a love interest for Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther so he can keep the premise for having such a lovely and powerful bride.
In closing I love this idea and I hope and pray this comes to be not just for my 3 little brown daughters but for any little girls in the world to not just be able to dream but to see their selves in movies, being portrayed as SUPER! In one of Beyonce's famous songs she says who runs the world...GIRLS, and her as Captain Marvel will keep Marvel on top of the movie world for being pioneers, being first with fresh ideas for diversity. Kevin Feige said that Captain Marvel wil be the strongest and most powerful  superhero in Marvel Studios history! They have to make noise with Captain Marvel's casting. This is why the announcement is taking so long! When asked about Marvel's interest in her she replied that she would love to work with Marvel, it would be a dream come true. Look for Captain Marvel to make her first apperance in Marvel's Infinity War where I think she will steal the show!  Peace...please leave comments and please share.

Uh, I'm all for diversity too...but Beyonce? Why not any other infinitely more capable and talented actress who can actually, you know, act?

Nope. Unless her acting skills have gotten much better since that movie she played in with Idris Elba, then no.

What's she been in recently? Can she act? Has she done anything with action? They did already say it would be Carol Danvers. Not Monica Rambeau. So I guess I could see them using an amalgamation of the two characters and casting a black woman. But since you brought this up, why not cast a latina? More diversity right? Just cause they said Carol Danvers doesn't guarantee a white woman.

Yes she's popular but marvel casts actors that can well act! Beyoncé is not that good of an actress.

If she could act,I would have no problem with it.She has the right look for the role, but like I said ,the acting is the only problem.

Gab - 9/6/2015, 3:17 PM
@MexicanSuperman Yeah Right @MexicanBatman Marvel would run Frieda Pinto with their car trying to get close to Beyonce.

@SeanlsStoned Mock I don't care I didn't make Marvel say they were interested in Beyonce because I think she can play Captain Marvel that's my opinion I'm my own man on here unlilke most people...I don't follow anybody else's ideas just because it's popular, or I don't dislike it because everybody else hates it! What you eat doesn't make me shit.

@MexicanSuperman MexicanBatman brought her up, and the only reason you hate Beyonce is because she is black and the only problem you got with me is because I told you you weren't white. If you have a problem with Marvel not having enough Mexicans then you need to tell them that.

@MexicanSuperman Damn you are a loser!!!!

@Scorpion8125 why is everybody tap dancing around the fact that Marvel is interested in Beyonce?

@Gab Dude, this shit is old. Marvel have never said that and nor did any Disney exec. The quote was most likely pulled out of their asses in order to run this dumb piece of sensationalism. You should be aware that newspapers like the 'The Daily Star' and the 'Mirror' are tabloids over here in the UK, which cater to the lowest common denominator.

Killuminatic - 9/6/2015, 3:44 PM
Damn it's getting racial over here... but, like I said @Gab these tabloids hold ZERO credibility.

About the article itself, why didn't you cite your source? Anyhow, I think I recall this "news" was already reported on the site since it is old...

Actually, don't mind that last bit. Reading through it again, this was quite the opinionated editorial. Beyonce's an alright singer, but she wouldn't be my pick for Carol Danvers.

I have to admit... this idea is disturbingly logical. Marvel films lean on the charisma of their leads and she's got that. No superhero movie has ever been particularly demanding of its actors' abilities. Sure, Hiddleston acts his ass off, Ledger transformed himself, and Cox does some very subtle and interesting things with Daredevil, but most of the actors just tend to play some version of themselves (which is fine). Moreover "serious actors" like Norton and Bale generally don't mesh well with the genre, to me at least. It's like they're generally bored with the material.

The narrative, tone, themes, and all of that would be the same overall. And it would probably guarantee an extra hundred million dollars in the box office and mountains of attention for an otherwise risky project.

This makes total sense. I'm not happy that it does, but it does.

So then tell me why she has to be black if their going more diverse? Still waiting...
