Samuel L. Jackson Teases CAPTAIN MARVEL Appearance And Reveals Why He's Not In BLACK PANTHER
"How can [Nick Fury] not know the other black superhero on the planet?" asks Samuel L. Jackson. Hit the jump for more on that and a possible tease that we'll see him make an appearance in Captain Marvel!
We Got This Covered recently had the chance to sit down with Samuel L. Jackson to discuss Kong: Skull Island, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe inevitably came up. We already know that Nick Fury will return in Avengers: Infinity War after sitting out Captain America: Civil War, but what lies beyond that for the fan-favourite former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director?
Unsurprsingly, Jackson is still keen on a solo outing for Fury, but he seemed to heavily imply that the hero will make his presence felt in Captain Marvel a few years from now. He also explained why Fury won't be hanging out with T'Challa in Wakanda next year.
"Yeah, I’d love to do a Nick Fury movie. I’m always open and game. But they got Infinity Wars, two movies to do there, and after that there’s Brie [Larson’s] movie Captain Marvel, which maybe [Nick] will be part of. Also, I asked them, “So you’re doing Black Panther and the only black character in the Marvel Universe is not showing up?” And they’re like, “Nick Fury is not in Wakanda!” How can he not know the other black superhero on the planet? How the hell does that work? But they just said, 'No you’re not in that one.'"
It's a shame that Fury won't make it into Black Panther, but it also makes sense not to shoehorn him in for the sake of it. The two characters will undoubtedly cross paths elsewhere anyway and it definitely sounds like Jackson could be a lock for Captain Marvel. What do you guys think?
