Captain Marvel had its first screening last night and while the review embargo doesn't lift until March 4th, the first wave of reactions have been overwhelmingly positive. While no spoilers about the latest Marvel Studios movie were revealed, the reactions still contained plenty of intriguing tidbits that we're sure you'll be interested in.

Now, we've rounded all of them up for you in one handy place, and whether it's news on how many after-credits scenes there are or the characters and actors who steal the show, there's a lot here to discuss and some big surprises as well.

Despite the negativity surrounding Captain Marvel thanks to a lot of very angry fanboys (you can read more on that situation by clicking here), it definitely sounds like Marvel is about to launch a bold new franchise that Phase 4 is going to revolve around.

So, to check out the full list of new details, simply click the "View List" button below for more!

The Movie Kicks Off With An Emotional Stan Lee Tribute

We don't have any specifics on what it will entail but Captain Marvel reportedly kicks off with a Stan Lee tribute that plays right before the movie begins. This has been described as both emotional and a real tearjerker so it sounds like Marvel Studios has put something really special together to memorialize "The Man" and the many characters he helped create.

While a pre-credits (pre-movie?!) scene is something new for Marvel, I'm guessing you're more interested in what happens when the main story wraps up, right? Well...

There Are Two Post-Credits Scenes

Avengers: Infinity War featured one post-credits scene but Captain Marvel will return to the usual two stingers.

While no spoilers have been revealed, some critics have said they got "goosebumps," while another claims that the "anticipation for [Avengers:] Endgame is definitely stoked by this film."

That may tell us everything we need to know about what at least one of these sets the stage for and it's going to be very interesting seeing how the two movies ultimately tie together.

Sorry Haters, Brie Larson Rules

Brie Larson has come under fire for wanting to inspire young women and her hope to make press events more inclusive because...welcome to the internet in 2019?!

Regardless, not a single person - male or female -  has said a bad thing about Larson's performance and while I'm sure they'll be accused of taking bribes and whatnot, the signs are all pointing to the Oscar-winning actress stealing the show and delivering a take on Captain Marvel true fans can be proud of.

Thanos Is "F***ed"

One of the remarks that really stands out is: "Well, Thanos is f***ed."

Needless to say, it sounds like Carol Danvers really gets to show off the full extent of her powers in this movie and, as expected, Captain Marvel will be the one who ultimately helps turn the tide against the Mad Titan when she joins the ranks of Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

There Are Plenty Of Easter Eggs

Captain Marvel takes place during the 90s and seeing as several key events in the Marvel Cinematic Universe happened during that period, it won't surprise you to learn that there are Easter Eggs aplenty.

None of them
are specified (it would count as a spoiler at this stage) but I wouldn't be surprised if they have something to do with Tony Stark, the Winter Soldier, and even those pesky Infinity Stones...

It's Weird

Many of the remarks made are exactly what you'd expect: Captain Marvel is a fun, action-packed cosmic adventure which boasts stellar performances and a tone unlike any Marvel movie before it.

However, a lot of critics have said that's it's wacky and weird but not in the same way as Guardians of the Galaxy; instead, one of them claimed that we should "Think more 'Rey snapping into endless mirrors' from The Last Jedi type scenes." That definitely isn't what we expected from this one and it will be interesting seeing if that's accurate or something of an exaggeration.

The Skrulls Definitely Work

Some fans have had their doubts about the Skrulls but no one has a bad word to say about the shapeshifting aliens if these first reactions are anything to go. The effects are great and critics seem anxious to see more of them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Ben Mendohlson, in particular, gets a lot of praise and seeing as he's taken on some underwhelming villain roles in the past, it's good to know that a) "This movie doesn’t work without him" and b) he has the "MCU’s most multilayered villain story."

Lashana Lynch May Be The Movie's MVP

The fact Captain Marvel is set in the 90s means that there are some characters we probably won't see again and, sadly, Lashana Lynch's Maria Rambeau is likely to be among them (unless they make her look considerably older).

That's a shame too because quite a few critics have said that they want to see more of her moving forward and that her presence both adds an emotional weight to proceedings and is definitely necessary. I suppose, if nothing else, this confirms that she's still alive and well by the time the story ends.

Hey, what if she's a Skrull?!

...That Honour Might Go To Goose Too, Though

Early word from test screenings has pointed to Goose the Cat stealing the show and considering the fact various pieces of merchandise have confirmed that he's a Flerken, we can probably expect to see his alien powers unleashed.

With that in mind, it's no real surprise that people are raving over him and it sounds like Goose toys could become one of the most sought after pieces of merchandise for a 2019 release.

Does The "Marvel Formula" Hurt The Movie?

There's only really one critic that has something bad to say about Captain Marvel and they're from The Playlist so that's hardly a surprise. Anyway, according to them, the "First half is slow and uninspired" and it "Feels like directors could not escape Marvel formula."

It's strange because everyone else is saying that this is a unique and very different origin story but, in fairness, we know Marvel Studios has a formula it often adheres to, so I'm sure that there are at least elements of that in this movie.

Another Marvel Studios Monster Hit

These reactions were from the critics who will be reviewing the movie, not random fanboys or faux celebrities asked to say nice things a la Fantastic Four. As a result, they definitely provide a good idea of what we should expect from Captain Marvel and the signs are now all pointing to this being a critical and commercial hit.

Some people aren't going to be happy about that and there are already claims that those providing these glowing reactions are only doing so because they're scared to lose their jobs (which makes zero sense).

Regardless, the future is looking bright for Brie Larson's Carol Danvers and she, along with Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, is clearly going to become the new face of the Marvel Cinematic Universe as we move into Phase 4 and beyond.

I'm surprisingly glad for Ben and Talos. MCU's most multilayered villain story is quite the bold statement. Can't wait to watch his story and learn about his ideology and motivation.

My biggest takeaway is that Ben Mendelsohn is great and is a scene stealer as Talos along with Goose. And not much said about Jude Law as Yon-Rogg but maybe that is to keep spoilers under wraps.

I’ve liked Mendelsohn since Bloodline so this is pretty good.

No idea how Stan Lee's tribute is at the start but I look forward to it.

The one thing that is bothering me (small for sure) is that SHIELD is called SHIELD in this movie. Kind of retconning Iron Man there...
