Captain Marvel is set to be released in March and that obviously makes it the first big superhero movie to reach theaters in 2019. Now, just days before another look at the latest chapter of the Marvel Cinematic Universe lands, we may finally know what the movie's running time is going to be.

With tickets expected to go on sale next week (to coincide with the release of that extended TV spot which will air on ESPN), a number of chains have updated their websites with AMC, Harkins, and Regal all listing Captain Marvel as running between two hours, eight minutes and two hours, ten minutes. That sounds about right for an origin story and should just about do the Kree/Skrull War justice.

Of course, there's speculation that this 90s set adventure will simply serve as an opening salvo of sorts, with Avengers: Endgame actually setting the stage for the Skrulls to start invading a vulnerable Earth, possibly to set up "Secret Invasion" during Phase 4.

We'll have to wait and see whether or not that becomes a reality but excitement is clearly starting to build for Captain Marvel and Marvel Studios may very well have a Black Panther level hit on its hands should everything go to plan when Carol Danvers makes her big screen debut.

I'd prefer it to be longer than shorter, so if it is that long, I'm glad to hear it. Gives the story more room to breathe. 128-130 minutes would put it just behind Spider-man: Homecoming at 133 minutes and Black Panther at 134 minutes among MCU solo intro films.

Admittedly I was more excited for this before all the promo started but obviously I’m still gonna see it, worst case scenario it’ll be in my lower tier marvel list which are films I still get enjoyment out of, I just hope Brie proves everyone wrong

I do not think it will be Black Panther level of success BUT...Aquaman, Venom and Black Panther have ALL surprised with their success.

@LaserKing - yh I don't think it will hit black panther numbers, but I do think it range between 850-1billion.

@blitzburgh - Right? It's like the people who disagreed with her getting elected were digging into her past (twitter, FB, IG, etc..) trying to show the public something that would make her seem less fit for office.

All she is doing is dancing haha.
