Last summer was a bumpy road in terms of quality for movies. Aside from Civil War, Star Trek & The Nice Guys, there wasn't much to talk about. However this year, things have turned around. Instead of the usual 3-4 good summer movies, there have been 10+; both in the indie and blockbuster market. But the biggest surprise this year is that we are four comic book movies deep (Logan, Guardians Vol. 2, Wonder Woman, Spider-man) and not a single one of them have been terrible.
Last year we opened up with the disappointing Batman V Superman, was reedemed with Civil War, and then was disappointed again with X-men: Apocalypse. It was so refreshing to see that every single superhero film released was at the very least good. My personal favorite superhero flick goes to Captain Underpants, which also happens to be the best animated film of the year. Second to that would be Wonder Woman, a film that made us regain faith back into DC. (We'll see if that holds up with Jusice League) But anyway here is my 2017 summer movie season recap, which in my opinion, is the best summer for movies of the century (so far of course):
So what was your favorite movie this summer?
What was your least favorite?
What was the biggest surprise?
What was the biggest disappointment?
