SO Bats basically OWNS the turtle. Seems fair. He is the best hand to hand fighter and they are still teenagers learning and honing their craft.

I'm loving this series, but you can tell it's written by a DC/Batman guy (Tynion) and not an IDW guy (like Waltz). Mikey would never just enter a pizza place like that. It's not the '80s cartoon version of the turtles.

It is interesting that this series takes place before the recent shake-ups in both universes, though. The status quo in both titles has radically changed following the death of each respective series' main villains (The Joker and The Shredder). And following said deaths, both series have adopted elements from the cartoon versions of themselves that are set in the future (Powers Incorporated from Batman Beyond and both Darius Dunn and the Street Phantoms from TMNT: Fast Forward).
Powers Incorporated even made an appearance in Batman/TMNT #1.

@Doopie, since you're obviously a carrot fan, did you ever read the TMNT/Flaming Carrot crossovers? There were a few of 'em...

I don't remember much about them besides the fact they were black and white and retained the indie-cool of both books. Yeah, I'd say they were worth a read. Nothing ground-breaking or anything, but worth a read.
(Maybe not worth what they're charging for them on e-bay, though. Yike. I'd wait for a reprint or a digital release, if I were you).

This is a fun idea for a crossover, but I think the original, darker Turtles would've have been a better fit to crossover with modern Batman.

If they did that, then they could've had the light-hearted Turtles crossover with Batman '66.
