COMICS: 4 Reasons Why Batman Could Beat Superman

COMICS: 4 Reasons Why Batman Could Beat Superman

Personally, I do prefer Batman as a character. Not to say that I dislike Superman, this is just my illustration of how Batman could beat Superman.

1. Kryptonite

As most of you know, it is a fact that Batman always carries a shard of Kryptonite in his utility belt. For those of you who don’t know (hey, 1 percent), Kryptonite is pieces of Superman’s destroyed home planet, Krypton. When exposed to the radiation from Kryptonite, Superman is weakened to a near fatal state. Obviously, this would be a huge advantage for Batman.

2. Physical Superiority

I know it sounds crazy, but bear with me. This is only true if Batman does use Kryptonite as a tactic. Logically, Kryptonite weakens Superman to the physical state he was in when he was on Krypton; a baby. To my knowledge, Superman did not learn martial arts when he was on Krypton. Batman on the other hand, has spent a majority of his life training in martial arts and other fighting styles. He is in peak physical condition. In the Nolan movies, he’s a freakin’ ninja!

3. Mental Superiority

It is a fact that Batman is a genius. He has superior knowledge of psychology, chemistry, forensics, detective work and a lot more. Even while not under the effects of Kryptonite radiation, Superman isn’t known for his relatively average I.Q. level, he’s the Man of Steel. Chalk another one up for the Dark Knight Detective.

4. Stealth Tactics

Since he does not have bulletproof skin, he takes a more subtle, stealthy approach. Superman’s tactics basically all involve flying in the air, punching bad guys with his super strength, and wearing red and blue tights.

Like I said, while I do prefer Batman as a superhero and a character, I in no way hate Superman and I really don’t mean to belittle him.

Well that’s about it, thanks so much for reading!

@blackandyellow Batman's right, you know.

Fact is with a fight Batman knows is coming, then yeah he can tactically prepare for the match-up and thus probably out-wit and win a fight.

However, should Batman not expect an attack and Superman walk up to him, acted all friendly then just launched a supersonic punch, Bats would be dead before he'd even see the punch coming.

@Knightrider Totally agree.

@DarkKnight21 That is because people either have a 40 odd year perception of the character, which has only been helped by lackluster movies etc.

However the "Modern" take of the character has relatable issues, isn't indestructible (Strong yes, can take a great deal of punishment, yes however, but feels pain and can be beat), isn't the always happy never gets made Superman anymore, still something to inspire others via his actions but more willing to "Cut Loose" - and No more blowing out suns. haha

Point being the comics have changed, but due to the lack of movies not too, peoples opinions of him have remained the same and thus haven't picked up comics like: All Star, Earth One, Current Action Comics run, Birthright etc.

I am hoping Man of Steel changes that and shows everyone this isn't the silver age indestructible, not a care in the world man, but a person who feels alienated, is feared by some, has emotional core, is defined by his actions, and strives to do what is right.

Honestly I am not having a go, you have a right to your opinion, just hope Man of Steel helps change that as a fan of Supes he has been long overdue a modern telling.

All Superman would have to do is fly as fast as he can AT Batman even if the Kryptonite weakened him the momentum would kill him.

Justice League: Doom showed us that anyone can beat anyone.

Metallo didn't do anything Two-Face couldn't have done.
Likewise with Flash/Mirror Master, Batman/Bane, Wonder Woman/Cheetah, Martian Manhunter/Ma'alefa'ak, etc...

All depends on the writer.

My favourite fictional character in any medium is Batman, but he would get his ass handed to him.

Batman has kryptonite. kryptonite weakens him. Batman is the best human.. everything pretty much. ninja, warrior, detective, etc. so, he could beat a "normalized" Superman no problem.

My favourite moment in comicbook history is still at the end of TDKR when Batman beats Superman and basically calls him out on being a tool.

Superman is (usually) so powerful that NOBODY can beat him. If anybody could do it, it would be batman though...you can't kill Superman with brute force imho, you have to outthink all of his advantages

No.........Superman wins. Period.

No argument needed.

Im a batman fan all the way, but Superman wins 9 out of 10 times. With prep time. Debate over. Batman may be able to conceal himself in a lead lined base with kryptonite around him and krypton bullets, and Supes would still dominate. If Superman knew they were gonna fight he would know Bats would have kryptonite on him, so all Superman would have to do is keep his distance and heat vision the crap out of him. If batman tried to shoot kryptonite bullets at him while he tried this, Superman would just dodge them. Maybe, MAYBE 1 out of 10 times Batman can outsmart him enough to overcome the overwhelming odds against him.
Smallville21
Smallville21 - 8/19/2012, 9:54 PM
It's funny, because even if batman had time to prep, Superman could just stand 5 miles away and use heat vision until Batman became a nice medium-well done, or he could use freeze breath and stick him in the Fortress freezer till Batman got his panties untangled.
Smallville21
Smallville21 - 8/19/2012, 9:58 PM
If however, they had a blue kryptonite, no utility belt straight-up fist fight, I think we would all pay money to see that as it would be one for the ages!
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 8/19/2012, 10:07 PM
Superman would destroy Batman.
kryptonite in his belt? no biggie,Supes flies a couple of miles in the air and uses his heat vision. and Batman couldn't hide because Supes has X-ray vision and super-hearing. or he could just fly really fast and rip Batman's arm off, kryptonite included.

as cool as Batman is,all his tactics become null because of Superman's powers.
Knightrider
Knightrider - 8/19/2012, 10:45 PM
@Spidy Surely if Bats knows a fight is coming he'd been in a place that is covered by lead. This Supes would just burn it as Bats is more likely to want a fight in public location. Supes will obviously know Bats needs him in close, but could be all distraction as Supes searches the ground a remote Bat-glider flying near a commercial airliner to hide its noise fires a gas grenade at Supes which is laced with Krtptonite.

Anyways point being Superman is as tactically minded as Bats because of his powers as mentioned above in a surprise attack, Batman is dead, but believe Bats vs Supes where mind games, tactics etc come in to play then think Bats wins as he'll have a plan that gets Supes in close for attack.

CPBuff22 - 8/20/2012, 12:42 AM
Batman would get beat by Flash or Green Lantern in most instances. That being said he stands no chance against Superman. This is like saying Daredevil could beat Adam Warlock. When a character has that many powers its hard for anyone to beat them let alone someone with no powers.
DarkKnight21
DarkKnight21 - 8/20/2012, 9:09 AM
@Just1Superguy Yes, I am obviously aware that Superman's FATHER was a genius. But like I said, Superman is not a genius, nor is he an idiot.

An intelligent billionaire who could defeat superman?

Superman is so boring. His entire premise is illconcived. and the writters have to create beings of godlike power for him to ever have a conflict. I think Superman need to be taken back to the drawing board until DC can come up with a charecter that's interesting. as far as who would win in a fight. Batman is literally charged with Killing Superman if he ever goes rouge again. and let's not forget that Batman has better the entire rest of the justice league before.

You all think that batman would lose because superman is so fast and so powerful but then how did metallo shoot him with kryptonite and without BATMAN would have died batman has trained himself to peak mental and physical condition and has intingency plans for almost every situation so even if superman did come flying extremely fast at him he will see it coming and have a plan of action to stop supes and if that plan doesn't work he will have another backup plan etc... Conclusion is it can go either way but considering batman is only a human and has NO SUPERPOWERS and can stand up to an extremely powerful character and I'd say 5 times out of 10 beat superman batman is the most powerful and feared and reaspected character among the DC universe and if you need anymore convincing go To http://batmanfeats.blogspot.com/p/martial-arts.html?m=1 and that should show you the true power batman has at his disposal
