COMICS: DC Reveal Controversial New Dynamic Between Batman And His Robins!

Haha, no, it's not as controversial as the teaser image might suggest! However, with the DCnU only 5 years old, how has Batman had so many sidekicks? The answer from DC is sure to leave many fans bewildered and annoyed...

Adding and revising the "New 52 FAQ" for comic book retailers, DC have added only a few brief snippets of information, with the most shocking being related to the Batman and Robin dynamic. You see, the DCnU age of superheroes is only about 5 years old (Justice League #1 will actually flashback to that time exploring the first meetings of the iconic heroes) so just how could Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake and Damian Wayne have all been Robin during that short period?

If super-heroes have only existed for five years, how has Batman gone through so many Robins?

Robin is an intern program -and a very intensive one at that.

Wait, what?! An intern program? Well, this sounds like it'll be "Batman Inc" related. If that's the case, is Tim still Bruce's adopted son? Does he still have a father/son relationship with Dick? And did Jason still die at the hands of the Joker?! In the Marvel Universe, it's widely believed that roughly 10 years have passed since the Fantastic Four became the first superheroes, but DC have always played a little more loosely with this, as have Marvel to an extent. With DC setting a strict 5 year timeline, what other complication may arise?

I understand why these companies don't pass time like real life so the can get as many stories out of their characters as possible but I would really love one of them to completely change this so that people actually grow up and not stay in school forever and then just create new characters and stories over the years instead of this confusing reboot way of things!

Why did DC even think that was necessary? Maybe Batman's got some sort of sidekick recycling program, now.

Im sorry but the Robin Character has to go!!!!! He's never been a positive for the Image of Batman.. I blame this all on the creators of the character for drawing him is such a ridiculously gay depiction.... I know there are a select few who actually like Robin, but I personally hope Robin is never again written into a live action film, I wish they would stop putting him in comics & cartoons. I just want do not want Robin associated with batman what so ever, in any form or fashion...

Yea, we're gonna start listening to DC now. I go by the comics ok, not the creators. Nightwing is a grown ass man, Red Robin is either a legal adult or close to being one and Damian is a kid. Why don't we just use our common sense instead of hanging on the words of people who don't know what to say? Just read the books and stop looking into shit so damn much, I swear you guys ruin things for yourselves.

I still can't believe Marvel's 10 years thing. Peter would have to be around 24 now at this point. And I don't believe he's that young. Maybe 20 years, at least 15. Waaay too much has happened for it to be just 10 years.

Robin . . . an intern program? Intern for superheroes? I dunno.

hahahahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahaha

sorry. i mean, it's not THAT bad an idea. but there are other things they could have done. like, maybe they were all robin at the same time, and he had different levels of connection with each of them. it would make more sense, and they could have all been different ages so it would explain their different ages now.

okay, dc, feel free to hire me as a writer any time you like. i'll fix all your other dumb stuff, too.

Run@ I thought it was pretty funny. Under the goofiness Tea makes a good point; Batman taking in a adolescent boy to fight grown ups with guns is ridiculous in the first place. Period. Perferably I'd like them to get rid of Robin altogether.

Josh@ Keep up with the poles, man. They're fun, and if anyone finds them annoying, they can just ignore them. Easy as that. I also am not too worried about Bane. Nolan's done good so far, so we have no reason to doubt him. As for his voice... its odd, but as its been said before, he sounds like hes in pain when he talks... adding a whole new creepy dimension to the character. I'm intrigued.
