As most of us know, the character of Felicity Smoak initially introduced the step-mother of Ronnie Raymond (Firestorm). But she was given a revamp and included into the hit tv show Arrow. Following the characters initial success, she went on to becoming a series regular and is now a fan favorite of the show.

In a recent interview following the anno
uncement of Kreisberg taking over the writing duties of the ongoing New 52 Green Arrow series, he also went on to confirm that the character of Felicty Smoak will make her New 52 debut in the series as well

“When the opening came up it just felt like it was a real opportunity to merge the two worlds, the comic book and the TV show,” Kreisberg told the News. “To maybe bring a few fans of the show who don’t read the comics to the comics and fans of the comics who don’t watch the show to the television.”

The dynamic duo will take over scripting duties on DC Comics’ “Green Arrow” with October’s issue #35.

He adds that several fan favorite characters from “Arrow” will make their way into the pages of “Green Arrow” -- including Felicity Smoak, the titular hero’s computer hacking helper.

Actress Emily Bett Rickards “was over the moon” when she found out that she was going to be included in the comic book.
