Wow, DC comics is turning Superman into Hyperion! I guess they do want to be just like Marvel.

I wonder if that means soon Wonder Woman will soon be walking around naked?

Why do they almost always have a Sergeant in charge of things like these in comics, TV and the movies. Dealing with an alien entity? That would most likely fall into the lap of a Colonel or General. In the case of the Navy, a Captain or an Admiral.

@JackBauer - You, my friend, are operating under the false assumption that the writer and artist actually give any thought to what those insignias mean.

Well it's obvious this is Superman in the beginning and he's not fully powered. I'm just surprised he's still so weak.
McGribble

I think the reason he looks "short bus" in the t-shirt and jeans because he has the cape... he is dressed like a kid running around playing Superman. I do not mind the jeans and work boots, the t-shirt is a bit silly. I would prefer him wearing and alien looking shirt with the jeans. That would at least look like he is wearing something kryptonian rather than a t-shirt you could buy in a store.

My biggest complaint with the new Superman is he seems to be a bit of a douche. I understand them wanting to make him more modern, but making a guy a douche is not a good way of modernizing a guy who is meant to be the poster boy for doing the right thing...

@ThreeBigTacos~ I assume that's a lab animal (presumably a goat) that they put in there to test the toxicity of the air that they were having Superman breathe; one can assume that they (and by "they", I mean Lex) tried to see if they could kill/hurt him with gas.

I hope that it doesn't take 10 years, some bad storylines and weird continuity for him to get his suit...

Been there, done that...

If you are wondering how they get Superman I'll tell you. They make him to stop a train with his strenght and he lost consciousness. I'm not kidding. Also he was defeated by a tank.

The pilot episode of a series always sucks I hope they have a memorable /relavant/ story soon

P.S. All Star Superman was A.S.S. :)
TheLight
TheLight - 10/3/2011, 6:24 PM
All I see is Kal-El. He's barely Superman, and nowhere near being Clark Kent. When he fully develops, his Clark Kent disguise will truly be a ruse. I've read the new Action Comics #1. It had some moments, but not enough to convince me that this Superman will be as virtuous as pre-reboot. I guess "Kill Bill" gets the laugh after all.

@Superguy well, if you read JL Dark you'll see that he was very analytical and robotic. Like they said he'd be now.

"Kal-El more interesting than Clark"? SMDH...

Don't worry, you got your "OMG, like, so edgy and kewl and, like, edgy" "SUperman"... Allows us not to be happy with the direction, please.
