It's nice to see Lex's Power Suit finally having a cover over the head. I always found that strange that Lex would make sure his whole body was safe, then forget about his head. Because you good shot to the head would kill him.

Can't wait until Jason Fabok joins the series and this book finally gets good art again.

Cover is decent. I enjoy it well enough. Hopefully Fabok pencils everything next time. It would be nice to see this series drawn by him. The rest of this art is kinda like some old MAD magazines I read as a kid.

This art is absolutely abyssmal. This guy should not be drawing comics let alone one of DC's flagship titles...

Whatever, @NetmanTripleSec. I personally like the suit, though it's poorly illustrated here.

@PsyGuy

It's Pre-52 costumes. The belt on the Flash's costume is consistent with Pre-52 Wally West, who was often depicted with white eyes and no eye holes in his cowl (especially in the Justice League cartoon).

comic:

cartoon:

He was also occasionally depicted with open eyes:

IIRC, he started using the speed force to create his costume, which is why the eye holes were closed and his eyes were white. I think he did this to better protect his face while running, which is the opposite of what Barry Allen did. Wally specifically stated in one comic that it was important to Barry that people be able to see his eyes because he felt it would help them trust a man in a mask.

To answer your question, I think it is just a call-back to the old costumes. It also could be that they thought it would look more menacing since the Flash is supposed to be morphed with Cold's father in the final panel.

Superman's new suit is poorly designed as are most of the New-52 outfits. They suffer from Jim Lee busy lines and homogenization. Giving Superman a collar was one of the more baffling choices. Collars represent power and authority. Superman isn't supposed to give off a regal vibe and look like he is above everyone else.

New 52 sucks

Why couldnt jim lee just draw supermans suit with no collar and a red belt with a yellow buckle

Why??

Agreed. Great artist, but Jim has neve been good at designing superhero costumes.

and yup, Nu52 is crap.

Holy heck, Scott Kolins is doing art on Justice League? Not that David Finch?

THANK GOD!

Finch's artwork has been getting uglier and uglier over the years, and frankly, I don't know why people are still hiring the guy. But Kolins, while he loves to do cartoonish exaggerations, has straight lines, solid coloring, and a generally more dynamic flow than Finch's work.

I feel in love with this guy's art during his Flash run... it's amazing to see him taking on Flash AND Captain Cold in those first couple of pages! Man, I am suddenly looking forward to this book a LOT more...

David Finch hasn't worked on New 52 Justice League. He did Forever Evil.
Jim Lee, Ivan Reis, Doug Mahnke, Scott Kolins and Gary Frank have been artists on the JL book. Not sure why you're thinking of Finch.
