Movie studios should NOT be whining if their footage is leaked at Comic Con!

So David Ayer and company were hot that the trailer leaked online. SMH. HOW IN heavens name do you not expect the trailer now a days to not get leaked online in a larger venue like that?? You already know there is high anticipation for fans to see something, not just comic con attendees! How annoying. It’s just a trailer. Stop acting like its the golden ticket no one else should have access too! Premiere the footage at the venue then just release it online afterwards a few hours later. Don’t get upset about a leak because it is what it is.

Sorry, this is just a short rant I wanted to post because I'm tired of these studios acting like we didnt support their product for all these years in their original comic book form.  They do know how social media works thesedays right?  IT WILL LEAK IT YOU SHOW IT IN A PUBLIC FORUM!  And don't give me some cop out answer like now they'll be afraif to show footage ever again at Comic-Con because they'll just be shooting themselves in the foot.  You know this event comes around every year.  Be prepared for it.  My simple message to studios is that bring the footage for it to be shown exclusively the day of then release it online a couple hours afterward.  This is the competition for information age.  You're not holding a nuclear bomb...sigh

Yeah... said it before about other stuff, but should be said again... WB&DC... your fans want your product so badly that they cannot wait for it. They need it. They will break laws to get it. Not all of us can get to ComicCon. We want that stuff as well, whether you think we deserve to see it or not. You have a rabid fan base. That's a good thing. Embrace it. Evolve with it. Don't cry about leaked footage and then release it with a shitty whiney letter attached. You sound like a bunch of unappreciative crybabies. This was not the Sony Hack: it was done out of love for your product. There are companies that would (and do) kill for that kind of loyalty. Get with the program before you start to lose some of us.

"Warner Bros. Pictures and our anti-piracy team have worked tirelessly over the last 48 hours to contain the Suicide Squad footage that was pirated from Hall H on Saturday. We have been unable to achieve that goal. Today we will release the same footage that has been illegally circulating on the web, in the form it was created and high quality with which it was intended to be enjoyed. We regret this decision as it was our intention to keep the footage as a unique experience for the Comic Con crowd, but we cannot continue to allow the film to be represented by the poor quality of the pirated footage stolen from our presentation."

This is why Sue Kroll has to go...this is how marvel dealt with a leak,

"Dammit, Hydra."

@aXe

You mean like when the Batman v Superman trailer was leaked?

Or how about that time Marvel harassed a fan for taking a photo of a prop.

@aXe Wut? Marvel still took legal action.

Why are we acting like the idea of exclusive footage is something new and horrible? For the most part, it's always been that way and it should remain that way. You should be so happy that they released the damn thing 13 MONTHS AWAY from the film, other studios (*ahem*, Fox) won't even budge. Should also respect they released the Batman V Superman trailer literally right after the panel. Stop acting like you're entitled to it, you're not entitled to shit.

Yeah they did, look I'm not pro Marvel or anything, I'm just saying publicly they handled the situation much better, I don't care about what happened behind the scenes.

We certainly didn't need that lengthily paragraph from Sue Kroll, in this day and age shit gets leaked and will continue to get leaked, get over it, it's just a [frick]ing movie not a national kept secret

@TronVin

Exactly, that was just one example, I'm just saying the studios need to understand that we live in the information age, and these issues should be dealt better publicly, we are the one's paying for the movie at the end of the day, so there is no need to be condescending towards the fans, who are so eager to see a footage, so eager to support and see their characters brought to life.

I simply hate the fact that these are treated in such secrecy as if it were a big deal, it's just a [frick]ing movie at the end of the day for gods sake.
