Who's Next In Line For DC?

Who's next from DC to make it to the big screen??

With three big DC CBMs coming out soon what are some of the other DC comics films we want to see?

The Flash: For one season on CBS starting in 1990, we got our only (yes I’m ignoring the JLA T.V. pilot) taste of a live action flash. I think it’s time this character is brought to the big screens, here are some reasons why. A rouges gallery that rivals Batman, multiple costume bearers (in case the actor hired opts out of his contract for sequels) and something we haven’t seen in a CBM yet, a superhero built on speed. Go with a slightly darker red and more gold than yellow and we could have a Flash that could outrun (pun intended) a lot of other CBMs. Barry Allen to start things off..maybe taking his superhero name from an old time famous athlete, Jay “The Flash” Garrick (I’m sure I’ll catch flack for that one haha)

Wonder Woman: This needs to be Pre-Crisis all the way with Diana owing her abilities to the goddess Aphrodite. Being the smartest and strongest Amazon of her kind, this movie could easily be a period piece until towards the end. Start off on Themyscira, with a civil war on the horizon, and end the film with Wonder Woman coming to Earth to protect the occupants here from rouge members of her own kind.

Aquaman: I know. This character doesn’t even translate that well in the comics but maybe it’s just never been done right? If you take the same approach as you take Wonder Woman and set the entire story in Atlantis this movie just might work. Living his entire life in the city of Atlantis, Arthur Curry does not know about his ties to “our world” and only finds out halfway through the film. This could be an underwater Avatar with the message of global pollution, something that is more important now than ever. Arthur could make contact with the human race after his other home world begins to die. This could be really cool if done properly.

With Aquaman and Wonder Woman both coming from different worlds (Yes I know Aquaman lives in the waters of earth), there could be a great threat looming that keeps drawing these heroes to Earth?

That’s all I’ve got so far for the mainstream DC characters. I would love to see something with Martian Manhunter but I think he’s better left being discovered in a JLA movie… I don't know, what do YOU think?

By the way, I agree with whoever said this woman and this costume is Wonder Woman

Ten Bucks says that The Flash is next to be made especially since Berlanti and his team are already said to be scripting it right now.

I'm hoping for The Flash.
Zachary Levi is Barry Allen,NOT Superman!

I'm dying for Flash. I look at films that have these ultra slo-mo moments like those we have seen in the promos for Inception and dozens of other films, and I think that scenes like that could be the answer to the argument I have read on this site about Flash's action happening in a blur. When you think about it; yes some action can be the classic blur, but for more detailed "how the hell'd he do that?" moments we could see Flash's perspective, which I imaginge would be to see him at normal speed while the world around him slows to a near standstill. The shear humor that could come out of that alone is beautiful.

And whereas WW's look could use a little grounding like the picture above to make it more Grecko-Roman, I think Flash's look needs to be absolutely loyal to the comics goofy looking or no, because Flash is a marvel of simplicity of design. I love the face that the guy could be standing still and still looks like he's buzzing by a mach four.

@Nero-So you mean what they do in Smallville with Superman and Flash
NightBat
NightBat - 7/17/2010, 3:03 PM
@Nero..I agree, it would be really awesome to see the rest of the world slowed down to a freeze with The Flash in "normal" speed. The blur is needed but I think the slow motion of everyone but The Flash should be used just as much

@iron2jason....I'm not a huge Aquaman fan myself. If there is a good story to tell and it's epic then I'm all for it, if not then we are right where we are at here haha.

The Flash or Wonder Woman should be the next DC movies to be made after or along side The Man of Steel.
Anthrax
Anthrax - 7/19/2010, 7:34 PM
@NightBat agreed but still thats not going to bring back my fish and my childhood anyways with a right story anything can be epic even...:o AQUAMAN
