Next week, Marvel Comics kicks off its 60th anniversary celebrations for Spider-Man by relaunching Amazing Spider-Man with a new #1 from writer Zeb Wells and John Romita Jr. In that first issue, we'll see the makings of a bold era in the life of Peter Parker. On the outs with the FF, the Avengers, and even Aunt May, the question that will be on everyone’s mind will be: What did Spider-Man do?
We're excited to see how this story unfolds, but things will take another wild turn in July's Amazing Spider-Man #7 when Norman Osborn returns with big plans for Peter and ushers in one of the biggest Spidey status quo changes in years...courtesy of Oscorp?! Remember, Norman lost his inner evil courtesy of Kindred, so he's a reformed character, and looking to make amends with the web-slinger.
In this story, Spider-Man will be getting a new suit complete with accessories that look vaguely familiar. Scratch that, make that very familiar. Wait, is that a glider? Yeah, we're calling it the Spider-Glider!
The Green Goblin killed Gwen Stacy and has spent years making Spidey's life a living hell, but with his sins cleansed, Norman is a new man. That's clearly enough for Peter to trust him, but will he live to regret it? We can't help but think this is going to end badly for Spidey based on past experience.
