Marvel's avengers Assemble is a show that had the tough role of replacing an excellent series (which is of course earth's Mightiest Heroes). While the first season was "Meh" and received quite the hate from adult animated series fans and parents (notice how i did not mention kids) it seems things are finally looking better for the show. Especially after a great first episode.
According to The Daily Marvelite, the series is now being written by Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt, two excellent writers who have already gave us some great Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes. Man of Action, who wrote most of the first season of Avengers Assemble, are now show consultants only (whatever that means).
Other changes to the show is how the series will now focus on the whole team, rather than Iron-Man first then the team second.
Roster wise, Ant-Man will join the team sometimes this season. With Scott Lang being the hero of his own Marvel studios movie, one should expect the show to mimic the same version of the character (Ie. no Pym or old pym).
Fans of Jonathan Hickman's current Avengers run will be happy to now that the Black order (Black Dwarf, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Supergiant, and Proxima Midnight) will make their animated debut in season 2.
With Captain america: The winter Soldier still fresh in our minds, it is no surprise to know that the character of Bucky Barnes/Winter soldier will appear in the 4th episode of the season.
Looking back at the show's problems and then reading all this, and especially after watching the series premiere, it sure does seem that Marvel animation has taken the series criticism to heart and is doing something about it. The question is: will you give the show another chance? I sure will.
