Big Changes coming to Avengers Assemble animated series. Has Marvel listened to the fans?

New show writers, new team members, more stories is some of the things that have changed in Season 2 of avengers Assemble. could Marvel Animation have listen to the fans criticism.

Marvel's avengers Assemble is a show that had the tough role of replacing an excellent series (which is of course earth's Mightiest Heroes). While the first season was "Meh" and received quite the hate from adult animated series fans and parents (notice how i did not mention kids) it seems things are finally looking better for the show. Especially after a great first episode.

According to The Daily Marvelite, the series is now being written by Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt, two excellent writers who have already gave us some great Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes episodes. Man of Action, who wrote most of the first season of Avengers Assemble, are now show consultants only (whatever that means).

Other changes to the show is how the series will now focus on the whole team, rather than Iron-Man first then the team second.

Roster wise, Ant-Man will join the team sometimes this season. With Scott Lang being the hero of his own Marvel studios movie, one should expect the show to mimic the same version of the character (Ie. no Pym or old pym).

Fans of Jonathan Hickman's current Avengers run will be happy to now that the Black order (Black Dwarf, Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Supergiant,  and Proxima Midnight) will make their animated debut in season 2.

With Captain america: The winter Soldier still fresh in our minds, it is no surprise to know that the character of Bucky Barnes/Winter soldier will appear in the 4th episode of the season.

Looking back at the show's problems and then reading all this, and especially after watching the series premiere, it sure does seem that Marvel animation has taken the series criticism to heart and is doing something about it. The question is: will you give the show another chance? I sure will.

Let's hope the inclusion of Kevin Burke and Doc Wyatt does improve this show. Because the last time we got an excellent writer on a Marvel cartoon, he was forced to write Ultimate Spider and 'Hulk and the Agents of Smash'.

Dammit Marvel Animations, stop controlling Paul Dini and let him work his magic on the Ultimate Spider cartoon! Also cancel Hulk and the Agents of Smash.

Ms Marvel, Panther, Vision, Kree, Skrulls, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, Thanos, Kang! Just do EMH season 3 for [frick]'s sake.

@Sxcory

EMH is gone and it is not coming back. Better hope this show gets to the level of EMH instead.

Still feel that this show tries to be the Cinematic Universe, what I enjoyed from EMH was how it leaned towards the comics as what it's modeled after.

Ant Man has already shown up and it's Pym in the suit.

@AstonishingArachnid

Just re-watched the episode. It was not said if it was Pym. They kept it a mystery. They talked abt Pym particles etc, but they never called him by Pym. I read somewhere that this was due to the fact that when the episode was written Marvel studios did not yet made a firm decision whether the movie will feature Pym or Lang

I'd love for them to actually go on the main story arcs.

Secret Avengers
Secret Invasion
Infinity
Inhumans
Age of Ultron
Civil War

They did a good job of incorporating some of those in EMH. Hopefully with the writers back they'll be able to do that.

@Deschain99

You should. Just the last scene of yesterday's episode is better than the entire first season.

So will we get much better animation, a whole lot less pandering to the films and better writing finally?

Overused gifs aside, I hope they fix that shit.

@Destruktor2k Scott Lang isn't a scientist, the Ant Man in the episode is. So I'm assuming it's Pym.

@AstonishingArachnid

That's what i assumed ast well, until Cort Lane, who is the president or something for Marvel animation said that they left the identity ambiguous for a reason. we'll see.

They changed the color palette to match Ultimate Spider mans. It looks much better. I enjoyed this episode more than most of first season too.

I am 99% sure arsenal will become Ultron in the show's continuity.

I wasn't so upset about EMH getting canceled (as much as I loved aspects of it, the second season was dragging for me), but from the early episodes I saw Assembled sucked.

I don't know how it could get better (maybe there is some continuity as the show goes on), or if it's worth "redeeming", but I would like to hope it is.

Marvel needs a good series and Paul Dini is capable of delivering.

Yes...we need more black characters because they are such big sellers in the books ...lol. I was at the toy store and whether its the demolition guy from Team Fortress or Tyrese from Walking Dead...no one is buying black character toys either....just saying.

I never even bothered watching season one after all the bad things I kept hearing about it, if it really has improved, then I might just check it out.
COREY6487
COREY6487 - 9/29/2014, 5:46 PM
they need to remember that the parents need to sit through this crap too... they used to make these cartoons for both demographics. maybe not adults but at least the teen demographic is easier for them to watch the show instead of full children crap. batman, spider man and x men were easy for everybody to watch and also cartoons like young justice... instead we are getting crap like beware the batman, spiderman and this avengers
COREY6487
COREY6487 - 9/29/2014, 5:47 PM
and for the love of god marvel really need to do arcs from the comics... drop these boring ass single story episodes. its why i prefer anime to cartoons. i need story arcs to keep me interested.

GhostDog - 9/29/2014, 5:49 PM
Season one was meh. The action was good but the storytelling was not so good. Excited that the EMH crew is back. Tht how was great. Now only if marvel animation could get the spectacular spiderman writers to take over ultimate spiderman
McGee

Please. If Marvel listened to fans, there would be a Deadpool hentai animated series where each week he bangs a new female Marvel character.

Emma Frost would be the only reoccurring character.
