COMICS: Banshee, Daken And Sentry To Be Resurrected In UNCANNY AVENGERS #10?

If the cover of Rick Remender (Captain America) and Daniel Acuna's (Wolverine) Uncanny Avengers #10 is anything to go by, it appears as if we should expect to see the above three characters all brought back from the dead this July. However, there IS a slight twist...

...and that is the fact that they return as the Four Horsemen of Death! I'm not sure whether this will ultimately lead to them all being fully returned to life, but with rumours that Marvel are planning on killing off Wolverine either this year or next, many fans have been wondering about Daken being brought back to replace him. Oh, and if you're wondering about who that is on the left, it's the Grim Reaper; a villain killed by Rogue in the latest issue of Uncanny Avengers.

Oh great, Sentry's back. Another ridiculously over-powered and horribly written character is back, but wait, as a bad bad guy now. Awesome.

[frick] Marvel.

I actually liked the Sentry. I thought it was cool how they did that whole things where he existed but HAD to be erased from memories. Also thought it was cool that they took those 60's eras comics and put them in 616 and, well, I don't even know who to explain it. Sentry plus Apocalypse powers is an end-all-be-all. Unless he's still crazy. But didn't he completely burn up in the sun?

The single biggest problem with most comic books is this one lovely gem of comic book writers' wisdom; We can do ANYTHING. Just because you can, my friends, doesn't mean that you should.

I know that the sky's the limit in the world of comics, and that the writers are only impeded by their imaginations, (or the lack thereof,) but bringing characters back from the dead is overplayed and annoying as f***. If you're going to have the nuts to kill somebody, have the nuts to leave them dead. And if the character is so bloody marvelous that you cannot fathom leaving them dead, DON'T KILL THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!!!!! Death is the one dose of reality that should be a mainstay in comics.

This is just my opinion. Thanks for tolerating it. Peace, ya'll.

I HATE Daken..such a crappy character from the way he looks with mohawk, tattoo & lame ass claws that come out from top & bottom of hands/wrists.
His powers are imitation of Wolverine but with added pheromone ability that is stupid.

I never knew they killed him off but now wish they kept him dead,if he's back have The Punisher execute him for what Daken did to him..he killed Frank & that was a joke.

I'm going to include a quick little addendum to my previous staement and say that, if/when they opt to bring a character back from the dead, it should be rare and under extremely special circumstances. They should also do the readers the courtesy of developing an incredible back story to accompany the "resurrection" so that said characters' return from the grave is not hokey, cheesy, half-assed, unbelievable or a cop-out. There should be a massive conspiracy theory involved with somebody's death being faked or staged for us to believe a return from the netherworld. That, or some kind of necromancy that is undone when the necromancer is defeated. That happened in an issue of Avengers in, I think, the 80's; The Grim Reaper brought back a bunch of heroes from the dead, but twisted, undead versions of themselves. When they broke his control, they became their former, glorious selves, helped defeat Reaper, and then went back to being dead. That was a gratifying story, and a great way to bring someone back from the dead, without making it permanent or cheesy. In the end, the writers still had the balls to keep their characters dead. This is how it should be...

Agreed Dakon is one of the lamest characters Marvel has developed lately. I never liked "mentally ill" Sentry.

On the other hand Banshee is one of my all-time favorites (he's always been woefully underutilized in my eyes)

Sentry can beat all the marvel universe with his powers. But not fit very well, is a "dark-superman" wanna be, but without the "hero" in his hearth

If this was anyone but Remender writing this, I would groan pretty hard. But this book has been awesome. The latest issue with young Thor vs. Apocalypse was amazing. Remender has managed to do some pretty interesting things with characters that suffered from 90's-itis. Mind you, I hope with everyone else that Sentry stays dead, but if he doesn't, I'll be interested to see where Remender takes it.

A new Four Horsemen? I don't like much of what I see in modern comics, but this is a good group of characters to turn into Horsemen. I'd actually like to read this. So this comes out in July? Avengers vs. Apocalypse does sound like it could be an interesting combination.

More importantly, is this title crossover or event-free? I'd love to read a good story where the writer had the time to properly develop it without having to rush it or stall it because his book is part of some crappy event for three months. What issue does this Apocalypse thing start?

Hulk actually beat Sentry. Thor got mollywhopped by him. Bob asked for and allowed Thor to "kill" him, but can he even actually die? Morgan Le Fey went back in time to kill him before he got his powers and erased him from existence. That didn't even work.
