So Cyclops has to see himself back when he wasn't such a complete bag of dicks. Maybe he'll wise up, but knowing him he'll try to off his better self in a fit of self-righteous rage.

MAYBE I missed an issue somewhere but how the hell is Scott commiting genocide? I mean, didn't he save Hope so that there are now Mutants again? I mean, isn't that the ultimate point? and now Beast( SPOILER: He thinks he is going to die so he doesn't have to live with the aftermath) goes in the past to piss young Scott off so old Scott feels bad.

What is Beast's motivation to screw with all of time and everyone's existence?

This right here. This is gonna be one of those series' where I read em and think THIS IS THE X-MEN.

This is one of those writer/artist combinations that makes it worthwhile. I'm talkin Claremont/Byrne, Whedon/Cassaday level stuff ---- the only reason I weed through all the other stuff, searching madly for a nugget of gold amidst all the crap.

This is gonna be done rightly.
Much obliged, Bendis/Immonen.

@MutantEquality

Welcome to how Marvel treats Scott Summers...

Magneto all by himself is a handful for the young original X-Men, then you ADD an older, experienced, master-mind Cyclops to the mix? The original five would go down hard.

I love how people think cyclops is a dick yet the only thing that wolverine has ever done is try to sleep with jean when she was with cyclops. I wonder how he will act when he see teen age jean. he will try to sleep with her.

I hope the time travel thing goes away fast because i hate it when they try to change history for like the 100th time.

@MutantEquality

Okay I am in the "Cyclops was wrong" camp and even I will agree with you that calling Scott genocidal is incorrect. I mean yeah he is now teaming up with villains and things could possibly go that way in the future... but he hasn't yet. I get people calling him a terrorist, I think even people in the pro-scott camp can understand why some people choose to use that term even if they disagree with it... but a genocidal madamn? not yet...

Also, this is the issue I have been waiting for, Scott and Scott meeting up for the first time. I am really, really curious to how this is going to work out as this is kind of the crux of this series.... I am also worried about how it will continue past this with the original 5 because you can't just keep them in the present forever.

Still things did go bad for more than half of that team...
Cyclops- Dark Phoenix
Jean- Dark Phoenix
Angel- Arcangel/Apocalypse

Beast- Blue, furry, and awesome
Iceman- Relaxed and groovy

This has a lot of potential to be really great, imagine how it must feel to be young Cyclops, knowing that you're destined to become everything you stand against, and all the tragedy that awaits you. How all that would compel you to change your fate.

And how conflicted older Cyclops must feel, coming face to face with the ideals he once held, and the friends he's lost, as well as Jean being alive and despising him.

And the original 5 may be here to stay - their remaining in the present wouldn't undo the timeline, it'd create an alternate reality wherein the original 5 disappeared forever. They're now pretty much alternate reality X-Men.

@ Bandido

have you read any of the following this week.

-cable & x-force (a good start)
-avengers arena (was good as well)
-fantastic four (good but not as good as issue 1)

@ hush2010

something heavy is gonna happen to the x-universe & f*ck things right up.

if you remember when legion went back through time to kill magneto & ended up killing professor x its what started the classic age of apocalypse storyline.

so if someone of the original x-men die in the present,if they go back to their timeline without one of the group.

their future self should cease to exist,even knowing shit that happens in the future they may go back & try & prevent it from happening i.e sentinels,the dark phoenix saga,mutant massacre or the age of apocalypse.

altering shit like that could f*ck up a lot of things in the present.

im liking the series but i can't get over how storm said scott is ruining everything they built, he saved two kids from becoming prisoners in a world that hates them just for one simple fact....their mutants. still tho i can't wait to see where this goes.

First off, hell yes to the Cowboys with the close win.

Oh Man that is freaking awesome!!!! Jean reading Scott's thoughts is gold. but can someone tell me why Scott, who is the tactical genius that he is, hasn't developed some sort of Magneto helmet to keep out telepath's from him.

God I love this series. Was recently watching the 90s xmen series as this book made me miss the x-men. Especially since its a title not lead by wolverine (I love him and all, but overkill is overkill) it also makes me miss the old Cyclops from the 90s :/ y did they need to make him such a douche... There's other cmen or marvel characters that that role is for... Hopefully Marvel Now will change Cyclops to the one everyone likes and misses :/

@MutantEquality he committed genocide by killing humans whenever he rescues a new mutant
MutantEquality
MutantEquality - 12/13/2012, 9:27 PM
That is not Genocide. That's Collateral Damage.

Genocide definition is the deliberate and systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.

Scott is not try to kill every human in the world just to make them dead.

BTW. Magneto isn't a villain anymore. In my book anyway. After saving Utopia as well as Kitty he is ok by me. So people saying he is "chilling with villains," should think.

Xiim

@mutantequality

I would have agreed with you on Magneto... but the prison break sequence(AvX Consequences) is still what clinches them as villains at least in my book. The amount of pain they were willing to inflict upon people(throwing them into hell, carving an X into a man's face) as well as allowing dangerous prisoners into the world in order to simply make a bold statement by breaking the prison open instead of simply teleporting scott out? yeah... I, at least classify them as villains. I perfectly understand why people support Scott and get behind him, I just don't agree with the line of thinking there.

Also apparently according to Bendis this whole arc with what is going on with Cyclops would lead directly into the "Days of Future Past" timeline and that is what Beast is trying to stop...

Also random side note: I really love that with this whole storyline, no one questions Beast having/and/or making a time machine. That is how awesome he is.
