Thanks to IGN Comics, we have a first look at Geof Darrow's cover of this November's Deadpool #1; the new Marvel NOW! series from the creative team of Brian Posehn, Gerry Duggan and Tony Moore. Below are just a few brief excerpts from their interview with the site, but be sure to click on the link at the bottom of the page to read the full version. Are you looking forward to the series? Sound off with your thoughts in the usual place!

Brian Posehn On How He And Gerry Duggan Got The Job:

Well, this whole thing would never have happened if it weren't for Comic-Con, probably. In any situation where you get something going, it's all about who you know, and this really came from that. Hanging out with Axel [Alonso]. Meeting Axel through Rick Remender. And Remender, who's our biggest cheerleader, going, “These guys are funny. These guys love comics. These guys should be writing.” It originally started with the idea that we were just going to do a special. But with Marvel kind of reevaluating their books, they realized they don't really want to do specials anymore. Then we were on the back-burner for a while. But we've been talking about doing something with them for a couple of years now.

Gerry Duggan On Deadpool's New Look:

Now might be a good time to point out that when this runs, you'll see some art that shows the tweaks he did to the costume. It's really costume. And they're subtle. You'll look at it and know that it's Deadpool, but it's a new Deadpool that really looks great. Less pouches and less weird, tech-y gear, but more versatile sort of, "Hey, you know what? Those are magazines. Those are clips." You get the sense that he can reach behind his back and pull out either a frying pan or a shotgun. It looks great.

Gerry Duggan On How Deadpool's Mental Instability Will be Handled In The Series:

I would say, though, if you're a fan of a mentally diminished Deadpool, your hopes will be met and your expectations rewarded. I think we wanted with the first issue to make a new Deadpool comic that a Deadpool fan will really enjoy and want to come back for the second issue. The other side there, though, is that we know this is a new #1 by guys that haven't done Deadpool yet, and we're hoping to pick up new fans who will buy the first issue and say, "Oh, this is what Deadpool is? I'm sticking around." I think that's a balancing act that we did a pretty good job of. I think we made a fun comic that any Deadpool fan will recognize as a new chapter in Deadpool's publishing history.

Brian Posehn On The Chances Of Seeing Cable In The Series:

He's not in the first arc, but hopefully we'll be on the book for a while. We have several arcs planned. He could definitely come in. We started over with some new S.H.I.E.L.D. people that you've never met. That was really fun to create new characters as well as work with Wade – this character that we already love.

Tony Moore On Whether He Is Changing His Art Style On Deadpool:

Not incredibly so. The basics are all still the same. I do feel a lot more relaxed with this book since it's not quite so morose as some of the other stuff, especially the work I did on Venom. That got pretty dark. This is a little more freewheeling, and I feel like my cartooning has loosened up a bit. It's made for some fresher art. I'm really happy with the way things have gone. It's a more relaxing kind of cartooning than I've been able to enjoy in a long time, so I'm pleased with the way everything has gone.

I'm not sure that I like it. I hope that the first arc isn't Deadpool vs. Godzilla. The art looks like 'classic' Deadpool but with X-Games boots and wrist guards. The article called for less pouches, but he has a ring of them around his leg, and a bunch on his belt (can't complain, my Deadpool cosplay has a belt of pouches) Not hatin' nd will definitely give this one a chance - just hopeful that it isn't like the LL&L space nonsense.

Been lurking for a few years here, but first time to post. I sold all of my comics before I deployed to Iraq nearly 10 years ago. So I have been talking to friends lately about where to start collecting again. I think this would be a great start.

I just hope to f'ing god they change what Way was doing and bring it back to what Deadpool WAS and not keep making him a goddamn punchline and a stupid joke. I swear to god if thats f*#&ing godzilla im going to go f#*$ing batshit because we just traded a peice of shit writer for a pair of peice of shit writers. At what point did Deadpool turn into this alternate/goofy/wiley coyote dumbass ongoing joke. This is making me extremly nervous. To all the people that are look for a good laugh then go rent a movie, stay the F#&k away from Deadpool, it shouldn't be Marvels punchline and it just pisses me off.

Well after reading the goddamn information on Marvel.com I am officially pissed. Same ol' stupid bullshit is going to be coming forward. "I thought it would be cool for our first arc to be dead presidents coming back and Deadpool would have to take them out" ARE YOU F&$*ING KIDDING ME?!?! This shit just ruined my f#*$ing week. I can't beleive Marvel is single handedly destroying my favorite comic character. God damn you all to hell!!

im sorry but in my opinion all those things he was and is getting rid of is what deadpool is. the pouches and tech stuff isnt just there for show. and im not a huge fan of the new costume, ill need to see some more pics to make up my mind. THEY NEED TO BRING JOE KELLY AND WALTER MCDANIEL BACK. cause in my opinion this will be the only deadpool i care about. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0LhEeWdzFN8/Swv1fvg6i7I/AAAAAAAABvA/OTZLhuTKVbs/s1600/deadpoolclassic3.jpg

so far , some of the artwork for marvel now are not really my favorite. like the new ff as well. It has to much of a classic look to it, which is weird seeing as they are trying to make marvel feel a little more fresh and new. i would think they would go with a more realistic feel and look.

Some of you crybabies that don't like the ridiculous & silly Deadpool are pathetic..the outrageous & crazy antics of DP is what sets him apart from the super serious types like The Punisher & Wolverine.

Deadpool is cool because he's deranged but in a fun way, even when killing..good stuff.
He should always be written wisecracking & encountering bizarre situations that make him unique in the Marvel Universe.

I REALLY like the artwork but WHY is he fighting a dinosaur..........

Also Deadpool should ALWAYS be funny, his wisecracking is what makes him who he is the merc with a mouth

BUT deadpool needs to be how he was in the 90's very funny but very violent I know that Brian on twitter said hes writing a book hed like to read lots of action first with good story arcs then the comedy second

Im just hoping that they respect deadpool and have him be funny and a handy assasin unlike Daniel Way who made deadpool the butt of every joke and easily disposable

or like inuncanny x force where he dies every issue

yeah seems like he has more pouches now. I HATE his boots. I'm still gonna give this a try though. And for the record Daniel Way is a douche bag but still I may be the only one who enjoyed his deadpool. Although my fave team is kelly and mcguinness.
