Marvel & Disney Schedule Two Movies For 2014!

Disney and Marvel have scheduled two untitled projects for 2014, one of them is set to be released in May and the other film has a release date one week before July 4th. More after the jump!

Let the speculation begin!

Via Box Office Mojo, Disney has released a schedule of upcoming films to shareholders and investors that shows two new Marvel movies having the scheduled dates of 5/16/14 and 6/27/14 to be exact.

What do you think these two movies are going to be? We've recently received reports that an Ant-Man script was just turned in [Ant-Man Update]. We've also recently heard that Doctor Strange [Doctor Strange Update] and Guardians of the Galaxy [Guardians of the Galaxy Update] are in active development. CBM Editor Mark Cassidy reported not too long ago that Quentin Rampage Jackson recently met with Marvel to discuss Luke Cage [Rampage Jackson Marvel Meeting]. Although it should be noted that Jeff Loeb stated that Luke Cage would appear in AKA Jessica Jones [AKA Jessica Jones Update], that doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of Luke Cage showing up on the big screen as we will be seeing both a TV Hulk and an Avengers Hulk.

The Avengers Release Date is May 4, 2012
Iron Man 3 Release date is May 3, 2013
Thor 2 Release Date is July 26, 2013

Shouldn't Iron Man 3 be coming out around that time?

Fantastic Four Reboot? I predict it will be Dr Strange. But enough with the sequels for the moment we have so many other characters. It could be Black Widow, as Scarlet Johnansson has mentioned that Marvel has been seriously considering it. Oh and Daredevil! Bet for sure one is Daredevil!

GraphicCity is a class act :)

anyway, Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy hopefully.

I would also love a Captain Marvel film, although it could be the First Class sequel.

@ catwoman

nope, Marvel doesn't own the movie rights to Fantastic Four OR Daredevil, so it isn't them.

From Marvel/Disney: Dr Strange and Cap 2
From FOX: Either Deadpool or First Class 2
From Sony: Amazing Spider-Man 2

Sequel year?

lol, nope, Marvel doesn't own the movie rights to X-Men, so it isn't First Class either, lol

I'm hoping that Doctor Strange is one of them.

Yeah, Buena Vista is Disney, so they're either going to be sequels from the Avengers family or something new that hasn't hit the screens before.

Thanks again CraphicCity! I concur with Corndog's statement! :)

I'm thinking Cap 2 will be 6/27. Makes sense they'll try to get this one closer to fourth of July. As for the May release, opening two weeks after Spiderman, I bet it'll be a smaller character (like Thor). So maybe Dr. Strange.

@Superdude001, Iron Man 3 is in 2013 along with Thor 2.

They're securing the date. It's why ASM2 was announced. Marvel's hogged the 1st wknd in May for years - already got IM3 May 3, 2013 - so Sony said "screw it, we're planting a flag for May 2 2014."

My guess is Marvel is worried the next Pirates or whatever is going to try to get that weekend. They're giving ASM2 2 wkends, then they're securing the next one, even if they have nothing for sure.

if I not wrong, IM3 and Doctor Strange are set to 2013 right?
So as THOR
So it could be CAP 2, Black Panther or Luke Cage who knows.

if it's Disney, that means they're from MARVEL STUDIOS,so no Daredevil,FF reboot or FC sequel
Dr Strange and Ant-Man are the most likely to me :)

Cap seems the likely choice.2014 would put 3 years between the 1st and 2nd movie.

Ya know. I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel gets the FF rights back. I mean, the first two movies have such a bad rep that Fox just may not care about the team anymore. I bet Disney/Marvel could buy them back at a reasonable price.

And we haven't heard anything about the alleged reboot for almost a year now.

WHY ARE PPL SAYING IM3?..WHEN IT ALREADY HAS A DATE?..ITS LISTED AS MAY 3 2013

Seems strange why they wouldn't at least try to get the 4th of July for a Cap sequel based on the name alone but i agree its probably Doctor Strange idk if theyd release Ant-Man during this part of the year and another Hulk sequel seem less likely and Luke Cage & Black Panther seem far off...
BooYah
BooYah - 8/8/2011, 10:27 AM
I want it to either be Hulk sequel or Black Panther movie.
TheSchemer
TheSchemer - 8/8/2011, 10:31 AM
Ok, lets be real here: Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are both coming out in 2013. Good catch on the Buena Vista, so it isn't Daredevil or X-Men or FF (unless Marvel got the rights back). Not Blade or Punisher. Marvel said those two have to wait. Why is Winter Solider on here? Not that one for sure. I'd say we have these to choose from:

Captain America 2
Ant-man
Dr. Strange
Guardians of the Galaxy
Nick Fury/SHIELD
Black Panther

Outside chances at Incredible Hulk 2, Black Widow, and War Machine. (Although I'd only be really psyched for TIH 2).

My guess is:
Cap 2
Antman or Dr. Strange

@JLA2014..UMMM THERE WILL BE A CAP 2
Nation70
Nation70 - 8/8/2011, 10:33 AM
Captain America 2 with out a doubt. There aren't going to put more than three years between the first avenger and the sequel. Second film will definitely be something to tie in with the Avengers. Therefore I'd say Black Panther, Incredible Hulk 2, or Ant Man.
Spidey91
Spidey91 - 8/8/2011, 10:35 AM
@JLA2014
!Green Lantern 2 ain't possible as it's boxoffice disappointment.

Falling 60% twice in arow both domestic and internationally."

there,I fixed it :P
TheSchemer
TheSchemer - 8/8/2011, 10:36 AM
They won't make a Cap sequel because it was a box office failure????

Budget: $140 million
Made so far: $246 million...

I'd love to fail if it meant making over 100 million dollars...plus it will be in theaters for a few more weeks...then DVD sales. I'd say a sequel is a sure bet
