Marvel and Disney have created a giant, the MCU has made billions of dollars with no sign of slowing down and with the budget for Infinity War being one billion dollars everything seems fine, but will this always be the case?
Deadpool is coming out soon and it is very different from the Marvels previous films like the Avengers. Whereas the Avengers had family friendly comedy Deadpool has extremely sexual and crude humour, while the Avengers had almost no blood,(other than some blue chitauri guts) Deadpool has graphic violence. Even though Deadpool is so different from Marvel's previous cbms it looks like it is going to be a massive hit and the fans are gonna want more, so how can Disney capitalize on this? The answer is animated movies.
Live- action blockbuster cbms are extremely expensive to make with the cheapest Marvel film costing 130 million to make. Disney should look to animated films to show the darker side of Marvel, and bring in large amounts of money while being cheap.
While computerized 3D animated films can be expensive, drawn films are much cheaper.
Animated films showing the darker, bloodier side of Marvel should seriously be considered by Disney, but they must be done right and stay true to the comics. The films should be kept in the same universe as the MCU and the voice acting should be kept the same. If done right, Marvel and Disney could release many blockbuster animated films, making tons of money and satisfying the fans, its a win win.
Bellow is a list of the top 5 animated films/film series that Marvel should make.

1: THOR: THE GODBUTCHER SAGA

Marvel has done a very good job bringing Thor to the big screen, but many fans want to see the mead drinking, skull splitting norse thunder god they know and love spill some guts, and this movie series would be just what they want.
The godbutcher series is arguably the best Thor comic series ever written and my personal favourite. Its a tale of a godless alien murdering gods across the cosmos with a black sword growing out of his arm, while three Thors from different timelines team up to kill him. This has all the signs of a great R rated animated or anime film, complete with laser space sharks! No Thor fan would miss this movie, which means more money for Disney!

2: GHOST RIDER

Even though I am a big fan of Ghost Rider and Nicolas Cage I know the movies were pretty bad. The devils were basically powerless and Blackheart was a massive disapointment. Marvel set the bar pretty low with the earlier films so I have no doubt that an animated Ghost Rider movie could be much better. I know I may be the only one, but I would hope they kept the Cage to voice Johnny Blaze. People have talked about a TV show, but if that happens we could see the same depowered demons all over again.

3: BLADE

Blade isn't some sparkly vampire, he is a vampire killer and the only way a film could do him justice is if its R rated! If Marvel toned down Blades violence fans would be so upset they might start biting people's necks, thats why Blade should be animated.

4: HERCULES

If you go to movie theaters, (which im pretty sure you do) there always seems to be a Hercules movie, so why shouldnt Marvel make one?
Hercules is Marvels beer drinking and bone breaking god of strength and pankration(wrestling). He does not have as big a fanbase as Thor but he has loyal fans and his own comic book.

5: BLACK WIDOW ORIGINS

Black Widow is a great character and deserving of her own live action movie, but it wouldn't be right for her origin to be PG-13.
Black Widow was a Russian assassin who killed hundreds of people and probably tortured her fair share as well, she also underwent torture both physical and mental herself so its pretty obvious the film wouldn't be child friendly.

CONCLUSION

Animated films could be the key to keeping the comic book movie craze going for decades to come. If Deadpool shows us anything its that many fans want R rated superhero films, and if Disney wants to keep making money forever they should consider darker movies. Marvel Lifa Endr!

You've gone for the darker storylines (which I like) and an interesting read.

I'll try not to be too offended you ripped my article lol, but yeah, you know

A Moon Knight Netflix show could be amazing, but he could easily be done in an animated film. Or a series of animated shorts that would run with each animated film. Something that would make you want to watch all of them to get the full story arc. Seriously... I want Moon Knight!

Big question.....if it is anime, can't they do x men?? Wolverine was in the hulk vs. I personally would make cartoons of the property I don't own for movies

Unless Marvel Animations can prove that they're capable of making good cartoons, I'm going to have to disagree with the prospect of them making animated movies. While the projects you mentioned would absolutely crush it as animated movies, I don't think the current Marvel Animation would do them justice especially with their current slate of cartoons.

As for making these animated movies a part of the MCU, IMO they should be separate and stand on their own. Less restrictions and the need for consistency, that way we could get an animated adaptation of Thor: God of Thunder that's faithful to its comic.

They were doing okay for a bit. In my opinion they weren't as good as the DC ones but still fun, with mostly original takes on things. I loved Dr. Strange, Hulk Vs, Planet Hulk and Next Avengers. I also love most of the shows, including Ultimate Spider-Man and Avengers Assemble (though Spectacular Spider-Man and Avengers:EMH were better shows) and their anime were also pretty good. I'd love to see more of that with some adaptations. The look of the Punisher/Black Widow flick for an Avengers movie, or a Spider-man, or Iron Fist movie. Or give them the chance to go all out for Blade an Ghost Rider!

I think the Infinity Saga in which the Evil side of Odin was literally destroying the entire Universe much faster than the speed of light should be the One. The bad Odin was destroying and subjugating world after worlds and was destroying Earth and Asgard from millions of light years way and no one knew who he or it was... Also, another should be Surtur with his legions of demons, and the Mangog. However, they have de-powered Odin and Thor so much that none of this is a reality any longer. Thor, in particular, has not use his powers over the storms or Elements to any significant extent in none of his movies except for the first Thor movie when he created a small vortex to lift the Destroyer. Thor has many exotic powers that was taken away from him like his Spatial capabilities. Thus, many of these movies should be even a problem to make; since to confront such incredible monumental threats requires great and significant power to counteract it...

ASGARDIANBRONY - 2/5/2016, 1:17 PM
@Original - they could depower the threats a little so the depowered heroes can fight them. for instance, instead of having the bad odin destroying galaxies, have him destroying worlds slowly. we also don't really know how powerful odin is considering weve never seen him go all out.

I agree with DeusExSponge that Marvel/Disney haven't shown us anything that says they're up for the job of making high-quality animated movies.

However, if they take a crack at it, I'd love to see an adaptation of Mark Millar's "Marvel Knights: Spider-Man".

Every seasoned comic writer knows that Mark Millar has a very cinematic style of writing, which is why so many of his stories are adapted by movie studios, and that's why I nominate this particular story. Also, it's simply a damn good story. I recommend reading all of it, if you wanna see a classic story of Spidye going through the ringer in more ways than one.

It also has some TRULY AMAZING fight scenes, and Millar writes Spidey's rogues gallery as a bunch of truly despicable subhuman psychopathic dirtbags.

I really liked Hulk Vs, Ultimate Avengers 1&2, and The Invincible Iron Man. The rest seemed meh so I didn't see em.

DC's are much, much better but I wouldn't mind some new Marvel Animated Movies.

LOL @ Marvel making animated films. Good luck with that. They haven't had a successful animated film since.... Well, never?

Marvel should stick to doing what they do best, which is making movies. Leave, well... Everything else to DC.

I really want them to continue their animated films like DC does. I'm always a fan of the 2004-08 New X-Men books. It would help introduce those characters to people, give them a little more popularity and be something different, and then they could go and branch out from there.
1.They can do the new mutants in the academy,
2.then do Avengers Disassembled where Wanda goes crazy and makes the House of M,
3.Then actually do House of M,
4.Then go for Decimation with only the 198 left,
5.They can do a couple Avengers and other character movies here and break civil war into two parts, the opening and the conclusion (Or they can do cosmic stuff like Annihilation and Slient Wars which I would prefer but that's just me)
6.jump to the Messiah Complex,
7.They could do Secret Invasion and then Siege stuff here if they wanted to (If they did that's why i would want the Annihilation stuff so we could at least see the Skrulls before they just popped up)
8.And finish with Second Coming.
Just my personal wish list of animated movies I would love to see done.

GREAT MARKET STRATEGY(SARCASM) Yea, lets do animated movies that (YOU) want to see. That's why you're not in the marketing business MCFLY. I'm a diehard fan of Marvel Live action and DC animated movies, but I am not a NERD and read comic books. NEVER HAVE and NEVER WILL. You have to think mainstream... "Godbutcher"? Maybe, 25000 people have heard of that. In you're little bubble of "reality" you think everyone will just watch it in droves.

Ghostrider? ha! Those movies have been butchered so bad, that no one will attempt to even watch it animated. And if you think Nicholas Cage is a great actor....you must be smoking crack. He's one of the top 10 worst actors in Hollywood. He's only there because of his connections. Why do you think he gets mocked so badly on ever SNL type of show?

BLADE? same as Ghostrider....butchered too many times

BLACKWIDOW ORIGINS? It's a known fact...WOMEN super heroes DO NOT SELL!!! The only Woman super hero movie that was any good was WONDER WOMAN ANIMATED. But it did horrible on sales. That's what drives the market...what sells! Not what is politically correct or what you want to see.

But yes, I would love for Marvel to make animated movies aimed for the adult market. NONE of that kiddie krap. The premise of your article is good. Not your specifics.

@Capnumericka - kiddie krap? you think The godbutcher story line was for kids? you must not have read it.
Capnumericka
Capnumericka - 3/21/2016, 1:39 PM
@ASGARDIANBRONY - Wasn't referring to the Godbutcher specifically when I said "kiddie Krap". Sorry if you thought thats what I meant. Personally, I would love to see an animated adaption of that story line. What I was referring to was the stuff like Teen Titan cartoons or "Batman Animal Instincts", or the New avengers cartoon series. UGH! The writing in that is horrible. It's one line Puns after another. EMH had a higher intellect when it came to storyline. I hope I made it clearer for you. I like the ones that are(should be) at a rating of PG-13 or R. It seemed like your own personal ideas were coming through (which is fine), I was only disagreeing from a marketing stand point. Take care. Hope to see more of your articles.
