COMICS: Is This Our First Glimpse At The Return Of Peter Parker In Today's SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN?

In the controversial Superior Spider-Man #8, it appeared as if Doctor Octopus succeeded in destroying the last remnants of Peter Parker left in his body. However, today's issue #19 may provide our first possible hint that there's still hope for the Amazing Spider-Man! Check it out...

When Doctor Octopus transferred Spider-Man's mind into his dying body, it appeared as if that was the end for Peter Parker. It was soon revealed that a fragment of Peter was still left in the new "Superior" Spider-Man, but when Otto Octavius discovered this, he seemingly wiped out that memory fragment for good. In that issue, Peter's memories crumbled around him, burying the hero - who couldn't even remember his own name by this point - in rubble. Well, Dan Slott promised that today's Superior Spider-Man #19 would be a game changer, and that certainly seems to be the case now! As you can see, when Otto is forced to access Spidey's memories, he may have brought that remaining spark of Peter back to life as he climbs out from the rubble. Will he be able to fight back and finally regain control of his body and life? Check out the page below and be sure to pick up the issue (in stores today) to find out what happens next!

It's not much to go on but it's definitely a good enough reason for me to resist cancelling my order for SS.

I used to like Slott. Now, I can say he has done the impossible.

OMD made me stop collecting Spidey-books....I was no longer the target audience. I didn't think the character could get isolated from me further, then Spider-Ock happened and Slott made the impossible, possible thus reality.

Even if Parker came back, this character I cared about for over 40 years I seriously do not give a crap about now. For others who dig this, that's cool but for me I can't get into new Spidey stories.

I would like to see a long run with Otto. Then in like 5-10 years it will be a big deal when Peter returns. if he comes back too soon, it will render this portion of the story irrelevent. It would just make it another meaningless 'death and resurrection' story. let's have otto for at least 5 years.

I guess I'm in the minority of people who love Spider-Ock. It's a really bold move and I'm glad they stuck with it for so long.

So I stopped reading Spiderman to get caught up on other comics and when I get back, he's black in one universe and DOCTOR OCTAVIUS IS IN HIS HEAD??!!! Because having one hero with split personalities (HULK) wasn't enough. What a waste of the kid next door backstory bring back Parker please.

I was pissed when Fulmina touched him and for a quick second he was seen as Doc Ock... They need to keep Spidey the way he is now.

WHAT?!?!?

You... you mean they're NOT going to keep Otto Octavius as Spider-Man for the rest of the character's existence?!?

...

NO SH*T, SHERLOCK!!!

This story has ALWAYS come with an expiration date! It was just a matter of time until they brought Peter back, because no matter how interesting the idea of Ock switching bodies with Peter may be (to some people), this is still Peter's story! The "how" of it doesn't really matter-- it was gonna happen, one way or another.

This isn't news-- this is the inevitable finally coming to pass! Like the Clone Saga before it, this story is finally wearing out its welcome, and it's time to finally put it in the ground before they've completely, irrevocably alienated a core contingent of Spider-Man's fans (though it's already WAY too late for some people...).

Read a few issues of this but wasn't sold. Really want Peter back. I love Miles Morales, but with classic and Ultimate Peter gone it feels like there's something important missing.

Just got this email from a user on the site from [email protected]. LOL

"Just read your comment about how Peter should stay dead.

Go [frick] YOURSELF! Clearly you are NOT a fan of Spider-man since that who spider-man REALLY is.

Go kill yourself instead you stupid twat!"

Brave, brave, souls. Hey Phil, message me your address instead, coward!

I hate what they did to Parker. The way he went out wasn't just a slap in the face to the character, it was downright humiliating.

That being said, if Slott manages to redeem parker in an over-the-top, spectacular manner - All is forgiven.

I think they'll keep Ock for awhile. When this first happened, they were adamant about him being the Spidey for the inevitable future.

I think along the way they'll show and hint Pete's return, but right now Carlie is hot on Ock's trail. They probably want to add drama for the story, which is good.

I'm with a good bit of fans that say have Ock stick around for awhile. Make Pete's return well earned and later on down the road. I saw at least for another year after this Christmas.

This is by far the least surprising comic book news. It'll be followed by next year's return of the Justice League. I'm happy Peter's coming back especially since I figured it wouldn't be until next summer with ASM 2 came out, but still as long as Slott's writing the book it's hard for me to care anymore. I just wish Marvel would finally give Spidey a writer that actually cares about the character rather than constantly effing him over.

The greatest power Peter ever possessed was his will power. How he never gave up. To me, that's what makes characters like him and Batman so much better than all the rest. That being said, that last panel gave me the chills. Please, let this be him coming back. BUT, I hope that when he does, he's changed. I hope he becomes more vicious, more like Spider-Ock. More like Kaine (except less whiny). Better yet, make him a VILLAIN! Actually dying turns him nuts! i would totally dig that.

They first hinted at peter still being somewhere in rocks head in the last issue of superior team up. Rock started saying some very parkerish things and questioning why he was saying them.
