Lucy Griffiths' "Liv" Could Return To CONSTANTINE

After the pilot episode, Lucy Griffiths' Liv was written out of the series and replaced by Angélica Celaya's Zed. However, her departure was left fairly ambiguous, leaving the door open for a possible return. Come check it out as EPs David Goyer & Daniel Cerone discuss her possible reappearance.

Even though, Lucy Griffiths, who played Liv in the Constantine pilot, was written out after the first episode and replaced soon thereafter by Angélica Celaya's Zed, according to executive producers David Goyer & Daniel Cerone, she may still have a future on the show.

During a conference call, Goyer & Cerone revealed that the door is not exactly closed on Griffiths' return, Cerone stated "In terms of whether she'll be back, she's part of the foundation of the show, As we dig deeper into the season, as we start talking about possible arcs for next season, there's an opening there." Of course this is assuming the show gets a second season pickup, which is an uncertainty at this time. As for a possible reappearance this season, he went on to add: "If there's an organic reason to bring her back into the story, we'd love to." They also touched on why she was replaced in the first place, Goyer went on to say: "The character was flawed in its conception, and obviously we're to blame for that."

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Griffiths return to the series? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Based on the wildly popular comic book series "Hellblazer" from DC Comics, seasoned demon hunter and master of the occult John Constantine specializes in giving hell... hell. Armed with a ferocious knowledge of the dark arts and his wickedly naughty wit, he fights the good fight - or at least he did. With his soul already damned to hell, he's decided to leave his do-gooder life behind. But when demons target Liv, the daughter of one of Constantine's oldest friends, he's reluctantly thrust back into the fray - and he'll do whatever it takes to save her. Before long, it's revealed that Liv's "second sight," an ability to see the worlds behind our world and predict supernatural occurrences, is a threat to a mysterious new evil that's rising in the shadows. And now it's not just Liv who needs protection; the angels are starting to get worried too. So, together, Constantine and Liv must use her power and his skills to travel the country, find the demons that threaten our world - and send them back where they belong. After that, who knows... maybe there's hope for him and his soul after all.

I don't know, I liked her!
She was a bit of a cliche, but I'd be happy if they brought her back for a couple of episodes here and there.

@mexicansuperman Anyone whom I report is valid and warranted. Either for unnecessary sexual innuendo or sexism or racism or bullying. If you're okay with any of those things, then you need to take a long hard look at yourself in the mirror sweetie.

@MexicanSuperman

Yeah, I agree! Zed is way more cool, I'm glad at the change of direction. I hope the show becomes more like Doctor Who, in the sense we'll see Constantine's companions change throughout time, possibly leading to Zatanna? Hopefully!

I liked Liv, look forward to her coming back in some way at times. I enjoy Zed too, but I'm not seeing why she's a full time character on the show. While I'm enjoying the show I keep hearing that it's struggling for ratings. Would hate to see this show cancelled. A lot of good potential, which might easily benefit from smarter writing, and not trying quite as hard as it seems to be. Here's hoping for a turn-around success.

I liked her. I hope she comes back. It seemed like she had potential for a bigger role with her ability to see the dead.

@CherryBomb

Agree, they need to build a decent cast of support characters to include Zed. Zatanna would be absolutely awesome, but they need to fix a few other things first. Just needs some good nurtured development on the writing.

Why not bring her back as a total badass to counter the problem they have with her character? Show how being introduced to that world and seeing those things has forced her to change and take the offensive. Like end of the season or something, reveal she's been kicking ass the whole time.

I feel bad for Lucy Griffiths. to have her character written off not because of her performance, but because of the producers' incompetence and lack of foresight

I hope she does return. I know she's not in the comics, but neither was Harley Quinn and look at her now. I think her power is interesting and it would be great to see her interacting with Zed. I think the best thing that happened to the character of Liv, was that she did leave John. This way off screen her character can grow and when she returns she has become more mature.

@MexicanSuperman

I think they did mention Zatanna and Swamp Thing in the past, so there's a good chance of them appearing! :)

@ConnorBlaze

Good idea! Bring her back as someone who didn't give up on the supernatural like Constantine thought, I don't know, she developed her abilities and is a bad ass. OR she could be possessed by a demon to be one of the main villains.

I thought they just wanted a more attractive female lead.

Liv was okay in the first episode. She seemed a bit on the innocent side, though, so my guess is that they wanted a character as hardened as Constantine. Hope the show survives, its been great so far and reminds me of early Supernatural.

I would love for her to be back. She was good in the original version of the pilot. I think they replaced her because she couldn't really be a love interest for Constantine because of the teacher-student vibe. I feel bad for her and I do hope she comes back.

They did make a mistake with how they wrote Liv, which is why she didn't make it past the pilot.

Zed is a great character, but I would like to see a better written Liv come back for a couple of episodes.

@MexicanSuperman Cherry is right. Zatanna and Swamp Thing could appear on the show:

Bringing Zatanna on the show is much more pratical, so we should expect to see her first before we see Swamp Thing.

Her acting was terrible! You're getting haunted, you saw your dead granny behind your mother, death by live wire, and her reactions weren't believable, it was more whatever, next!

With each show it does get better. This episode was based on the books and they include Nommo (Doctor Mist)!!

I really want to see the Trechcoat Brigade formed!!

They need to forget about Liv, and try to get Serinda Swan to come back as Zatanna.
She would give the show a much needed boost!!!
