Seven years after
Daredevil hit theaters to mixed reviews, news of a relaunch has begun trickling in. In an interview with MTV News, Ben Affleck discusses why he believes the 2003 film missed the 'golden age' of super hero movies:
"Well, I think we missed a lot in that movie,” the actor revealed during the Sundance Film Festival,
“before they really kind of figured out how to do [superhero movies] right." “Now they’ve become ‘A’ movies, and they’ve been embraced in a way that they weren’t totally. Audiences have really have come out. And they demand a level of quality from them, as well they should, that is no less than the very best.” Affleck continued,
"Although [back then] they made some good ones, now they dedicate [a lot of] resources and focus to them." Recently we've learned that a script is in the works for a new Daredevil film. Whether this movie will be a rebooted story or a continuation is yet to be disclosed. Either way, it doesn't seem that Affleck will be returning to the project.
