I hope they don't tame him down. That Bernthal ferocity made his Frank Castle the best.

I kinda hope with it being a high episode count, we kind of get the Defenders reunion, as Ritter has been teasing aswell. Even Finn would be OK if he actually took the time to get the character right.. it would be odd if everyone else came back and he was left out.

Sweet! Never finished S2 of the Netflix show but he is an awesome Punisher. Him & DD scenes were badass, glad he's back.

This is great news. As I already admitted the current rumored slate is looking too bloated, but this project is the project I'm most excited about any of the current projects.

If they bring back Jessica Jones, it'll be the happiest I am with any project. I'm ok with recasting a Luke Cage and Iron Fist and having them already be heroes for hire. I just didn't dig Iron fist (or finish it) and while I really enjoyed Luke Cage, I didn't like the ending of season 2 so it's probably best to completely reset him which unfortunately means separating from the actor.

@0bstreperous - he has made it abundantly clear that he wouldn't come back to a watered down version of this character. He said he had too many service people come up to him and talk about what the role meant that he would never step into the role again if it at all tarnished what he's already done.

Having heard interviews with Bernthal, I do believe him to be a genuine dude. I don't think he'd throw away those values for a paycheck. If you liked him in the netflix verse, I think you're going to be happy with him in the MCU

@SATW42 - And Bernthal should have looked those service men and women in the eyes and said, “Hey, please do not idolize a comic book character that kills criminals because the mob murdered his family. He hates cops, and government officials. Please take off your stupid punisher logos in various colors and get a life. I’m a paid actor playing a cartoon man.”

@RickyleeSTF - sigh. There's a difference between the police and police supporters who misunderstand the character wholesale, and why the military gravitates to the Punisher, and especially liked Jon's interpretation. It's not that they wholesale view him as a hero, it's that he pretty realistically shows the ugliness of war and what it can do to somebody. Frank is a decorated military man, but we see the other side of it, what it really took to become that man, the reality of it. That's why it resonates with serviceman.

Also, In the Netflix show it's not just "the mob" It's former military brass who were involved in heroine sales who thought Frank was going to expose them.

@dracula - It was a great costume for TV, especially the mask, but perfect? The actual costume was some generic body armor. He didn't even have the DD!
