Fans are still waiting on official word regarding DC Studios co-heads James Gunn and Peter Safran's plans for the DCU (a slate reveal is rumoured for Tuesday), but based on everything we've heard so far, a full reboot seems likely.

Now, Guardainas of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista appears to have confirmed that Gunn and Safran will be "starting from scratch" ahead of any potential announcement.

The Drax actor has expressed interest in playing Batman baddie Bane in the past, and when asked if that was something he's still campaigning for during an interview with Insider, he responded with the following.

“I just don't know if I could handle the physical part, and I don't think I would have the longevity to plan ahead for films.”

"I talked to James about it, the direction he's going, completely rebooting the entire universe," he added. "He's starting from scratch and making everything younger and fresher, and I think that's the ideal path."

Hardly a massive surprise given everything that's transpired with Henry Cavill etc, but the likes of Jason Momoa and Zachary Levi seem to feel they'll be staying put in their respective roles, leading to some confusion. Providing Bautista hasn't got the wrong end of the stick here or jumped to a conclusion, his comments would seem to leave very little doubt.

We're not sure Gunn will be too happy about this, but with an announcement (likely) coming at some point tomorrow (the filmmaker did promise some news before the end of January), it shouldn't really make much difference.

A Younger, cohesive, bright, hopeful (no more evil Superman), and planned out DC Universe is what the world needs.

Hey idk if you guys know this BUT - you can start fresh while keeping a couple of actors , Jason momoa isn’t really Arthur curry he’s just an actor who plays Arthur curry same for Zachary Levi, and they can play other roles as well

Crazy how acting works

Seriously though this idea that they to have some in-universe reboot or something is stupid because no normal person (the people who make up the majority of the box office) actually cares about that shit they look at them as actors in a movie not Superman fighting Darkseid

@ShimmyShimmyYA - yeah, they can easily keep some actors around.

When Marvel started fresh building it's universe, it didn't go out of it's way to not cast Chris Evans since he already had a Marvel role before.
