DEADPOOL: Ryan Reynolds Acknowledges The Fans That "Got The Movie Made"
Ryan Reynolds will once again suit up as Wade Wilson for a Deadpool solo movie, and the actor took to Twitter to acknowledge the enormous fan support that he reckons convinced Fox to go ahead with the film. He also cryptically welcomes the other cast members on board.
Though most would agree that Ryan Reynolds did a good job in the role, after the dismal treatment of the Wade Wilson character in X-Men: Origins Wolverine, fans desperately wanted to see him done justice in a solo movie outing. Rumors swirled that Reynolds was interested and a movie was planned, but after the negative reaction to Origins it didn't seem very likely. But lo and behold, back in September of last year we got the news that the project had a release date and Reynolds was set to reprise the role.
Was Fox always planning to move forward with Deadpool? Not according to the former Green Lantern, who insists that it was overwhelming fan support that made the studio take notice. Last night Reynolds posted the following Tweets, the second of which welcomes the other confirmed cast members. Are we looking at a musical number here? Anything's possible with this flick I'm sure.
Deadpool hits theaters February 12, 2016.
