DEADPOOL: Ryan Reynolds Acknowledges The Fans That "Got The Movie Made"

Ryan Reynolds will once again suit up as Wade Wilson for a Deadpool solo movie, and the actor took to Twitter to acknowledge the enormous fan support that he reckons convinced Fox to go ahead with the film. He also cryptically welcomes the other cast members on board.

Though most would agree that Ryan Reynolds did a good job in the role, after the dismal treatment of the Wade Wilson character in X-Men: Origins Wolverine, fans desperately wanted to see him done justice in a solo movie outing. Rumors swirled that Reynolds was interested and a movie was planned, but after the negative reaction to Origins it didn't seem very likely. But lo and behold, back in September of last year we got the news that the project had a release date and Reynolds was set to reprise the role.

Was Fox always planning to move forward with Deadpool? Not according to the former Green Lantern, who insists that it was overwhelming fan support that made the studio take notice. Last night Reynolds posted the following Tweets, the second of which welcomes the other confirmed cast members. Are we looking at a musical number here? Anything's possible with this flick I'm sure.

Deadpool hits theaters February 12, 2016.

The fans wouldn't stand so hard behind it if the actor playing DP was good enough.

I am so thrilled that Reynolds finally gets to suit up as Deadpool. The one he's wanted to play and we've wanted to see.

This movie is not happening just because of the fans....

It's happening because the test footage for the film got leaked online and the response to the footage was overwhelmingly positive.

But it wasn't just the fans. Either way seeing as how Fox is giving the film what a 50 million budget, doesn't scream confidence from those who this film mostly needs it from.

No Its different but if that makes you more comfortable go ahead. They dont listen to every single thing. They dont keep up with every comment you make. It was leaked test footage that they responded to bc it was leaked. They dont keep tabs on how they think the story should go based on what commentors thing. Commentors/fanboys has shown in history to be wrong and not know what theyre talking about bc they dont know as much as the people making the movie. Its not a black or white thing.

@levitikuz

I think that budget is great. Some of the best movies were made on low budget. Plus I'm almost 100% positive this will be rated R if they havent announced it already.

Comic con will be nuts this year. Thanks to this movie the Fox panel will be quite larger than years past I'd say.

I'd like to think it only took me five minutes to do those memes, but the ice in my water seems to have melted slightly....so it seems like just under ten minutes...which means I should probably get off the internet and go outside, least I begin to look like those guys in the coming months.

this is one time studios listened compared to how many times they don't?
come on now, use your brain dude. This is more of a fluke than the norm, and it is a LONG ways away from becoming the norm.
