DOCTOR STRANGE Star Benedict Cumberbatch Confirms MCU Return For Project Set To Film Next Year

Benedict Cumberbatch has confirmed that he will reprise the role of Doctor Strange for a Marvel Studios project that's scheduled to shoot at some point next year...

We haven't seen Stephen Strange since he was getting to grips with his third eye (between post-credits scenes) and preparing to embark on a new adventure with Clea (Charlize Theron) in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but we now have at least some idea of when we can expect the character's MCU return.

While appearing as a guest on the latest episode of the JW3 Speaker Series, Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he will be a part of at least one of the "Marvel capers" that are scheduled to film next year.

A third Doctor Strange movie hasn't been officially announced (though we're sure it will be at some point), so we'd say Avengers: The Kang Dynasty would have been the most likely possibility... before the movie's release date was pushed back by almost a full year to May 2, 2026.

With the fifth Avengers movie now unlikely to shoot until 2025, could Cumberbatch be referring to Fantastic Four, perhaps? What about a Blade appearance to set-up that rumored Midnight Sons movie?

The ongoing WGA strike (and possible SAG-AFTRA strike) make it difficult to know for sure which Marvel Studios projects will commence production next year, but be sure to let us know where you think the Master of the Mystic Arts will show up next in the comments section.

That’s great but we still be an emasculated p*ssy like he was in Spider Man NWH and MoM?

The answer is yes,

One thing I hated from the first movie is making him a music fan but with cringe tastes lol.

Just my opinion and a nitpick lol.

Mate, the guy has a drawer full of rotating cases for each of his wristwatches. He's clearly a douche, did you expect any better? 🤣

All these actors have to pay the bills too! Not surprised even after that crapfest part 3, it's gonna just keep coming since there are millions of Sheeple with money to spend.

@TheLobster - I was assuming @TheOtherOn was referring to the latest spiderman.

@Shivermetimbers - No Way Home has its fair issues for sure but it’s one of the very few comic book films that still excited me post-Endgame

@TheLobster - it wasn't the movie, it was the cameos. Don't try justifying a mid movie

@bobevanz - I would argue that Tobey and Andrew’s roles were more substantial than just cameos and thank god for that.

Also; the movie itself hit a lot of incredible moments that had nothing to do with cameos. Aunt May’s death? Peter realizing he can’t have it both ways and needs to leave MJ and Ned? These are great moments that hit hard thanks to an overall solid trilogy.

Like I said, it has its fair share of issues but it still made me feel something. That’s more than I can say about most comic book adaptations post-Endgame.
