FAN CAST: 2012's The Avengers

I like the choices, if the film were to follow the comics to the letter, but they seem to be going for a more believable feel, much like the recent Batman films, and that leads me to believe that they wouldn't feature all the characters (wasp, kang, etc.). You can only have so many characters become genetically altered, and the concept of magic only works to a degree. Hawkeye will be in it probably, but I'm hard-pressed to think that they will have the likes of Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. But good cast choices, nonetheless.

i liked all the choices my favorite was your choice for red skull he was perfect as Rorschach and he would be perfect for red skull

i agree, its unlikely that Scarlet Witch or Quicksilver will be in this film but i guess that they would probably be in future Avengers films like when they were later introduced in the comics

i know they're twins but I thought they were good matches for the characters! It would be pretty hard to find real life twins for the roles anyway!

Marsters is Quicksilver, yes, but only if it is an older Quicksliver. Not that He's too old. Marsters is actually very fit and youthful for his age but he does give off that sort of "aged?" feel.

Why not Megan Fox for Wasp? she's tiny lol Plus, I don't see Longoria in a comicbook movie. Just not her bag.

In fact, you should just switch Jensen and Miller. That would work. I just don't think Miller has the "commanding" presence. Here is something that I just now realized is missing: Whoever ends up being Cap, will have to be believable in leading Downey Jr. and Norton lol ya know? They are of high caliber. and as much as i think Jensen is Cap, I don't think they'd follow him... well we kinda know Downey won't cuz that's not how he rolls :P lol and Norton (when Hulked out) wouldn't follow Jensen anyway... much less anyone else lol but Cap does need to be someone w/ leader qualities.

and This won't happen but its wishful thinking, James Marsden should be Ant-Man. As a person Marsden is a really funny guy! He is crazy! but he can play serious really well. But unfortunately there is no way in hell he could do this movie or any other movie in the Marvel Universe w/out being Cyclops. :(

But I just can't agree w/ Rappaport for that role. With all due respect, of course. I just... idk. he's a little more cynical.

I don't think I'd like any of those villians in an Avengers movie. I just don't think they're believable for the big screen. Then again, Idk what other choices there are. I seem to be drawing a blank.

and like everyone else, I'm still on the fence about Thor. Want it to happen and be completely believable and faithful to the comic but idk. that's got to be one of the hardest decisions Marvel will have to make. Cap would be the next toughest one cuz i have a feeling they are looking for someone with better presence than Jensen.

WHOA!!! BRAIN-FART! what about... Just hear me out... what about Russell Brand for Loki? lol kinda a weird choice but he's very cynical and funny. Idk. he'd have to work out... A LOT and he'd have to actually "ACT" more than just mumbling funny things lol but he'd be really good i think.

@joshw24: No problem, but Rappaport has been known a bit longer than that. I for one think his cynicism would be great in helping portray Pym.

@ManOfIron: Your on to something with the Jensen as Cap thing. Whoever it is has to be as commanding a presence as Downey and Norton. Until someone can find me someone that fits that bill, I stick by Jensen for many reasons.

how about Wentworth Miller as U.S. Agent? I think he could go head to head with Jensen Ackles.

TYLERWINN: Im glad that your mind goes straight to gay fantasies instead of acting skills or how well they would fit the role...that says a lot about you!

SHAMAN: Longoria is only really there because I remember a rumour that she would be in the film, same with Hartnet to be honest! Im happy with the rest of the choices though!

Hey Guys! Though I agree that these are great pics, I think what NEEDS to be kept in mind is the relationship between Pym and Wasp. I agree that Rappaport is a great pic, and I also heard Eva was in the running for Wasp ( I could have sworn I seen a pic of her in Marvel Studios, leaving with a stack of comics), also great pic.
But I dont see them together having a intimate and sometimes agressive relationship. There needs to be a strong connection between those two. Plus I thought I heard somewhere that Pym would not be in the movie. Which I feel would be a huge mistake. I mean, he is a tentpole to the Avengers. I believe is role and story are just as important as all the other characters.

Either he stays normal and controls things behind the seens, while being frustrated at being the only non-superhero OR as Giantman. Maybe YellowJacket... but just maybe. I think they need to handle his part delicately. Which I think Fav and his team can handle.

Justadjust: I see what ur saying about Rappaport and Longoria but in the comics Pym is quite a bit older than her and a lot of his insecurities come from that and the fact that shes kinda out of his league...this is especially the case in The Ultimates I think anyway. Rappaport is such a great actor he could nail any role but i think he is perfect for pym!!!

I forgot that they were also part of the X-Men franchise! I guess the age difference would be a problem anyway, maybe an older actress for Scarlet Witch would solve that because I think he is a decent fit for the role!

Jensen for hawkeye, damn straight! i would watch that movie 8 times at the cinema if he was in it. I also like the red skull choice he did a fantastic job as rorschach!

I think that Red Skull will most likely be in the Cap movie but its the perfect actor cause i think he could pull it off from what i saw in Watchmen, he would be amazing.
