Other Work:
True Blood
Straw Dogs
Generation Kill

Originally, Adam Warlock was simply known as Him. He is an artificial being created by the hand of mad scientists, The Enclave, in a scientific complex called The Beehive. Which was born from a cocoon. The goal of his creators was to create the perfect human for their own gain. After the Fantastic Four would eventually investigate the creation of Him, the Enclave escaped when the complex was set to self destruct. After Him was born, and seeing how corrupt his creators were, he abandoned them and left for space to gather his thoughts. However he doesn’t get far, as he is caught in an asteroid shower and saved by the being known as Uatu, The Watcher, who sends him back to Earth. On his trials through Earth; Him discovers the Asgardian goddess Sif and wants her to be his mate, which awakens the wrath of Thor, of the God of Thunder, who he passively escapes by creating a cocoon around himself. Him later met the person that changed his life, The High Evolutionary, who gave him his now known name: Adam – for being the first of his kind, Warlock – because men would fear his power, and gave him the Soul gem that would apparently change his life.
The Magus
After several months, Adam found himself on a desolate planet and figured that he failed to accomplish what the High Evolutionary begged him for. It was then, that he learned about his evil future counterpart, an intergalactic menace known as the Magus, a being who rules a religious empire called “ The Universal Church of Truth”, whose goal is to conquer worlds and offer only two options; convert, or die. Warlock ends up battling the Church with his companions; Pip the Troll and Gamora the deadliest woman in the Universe (and adopted daughter of Thanos of Titan). The Magus manipulated Warlock into a series of actions that would make him become the Magus. Thanos, however, thought otherwise; and helped Warlock regain his former self's consciousness. Adam travels to the future to find himself right before he is taken by the In-Betweener and changed into the Magus. He essentially kills himself. The Magus is thwarted and suddenly just ceases to exist along with the Church. After their victory Adam took off to ponder his existence. While traveling through space he noticed hundreds of stars going out. After realizing that this was not a random doing and that a being called the Star Thief was behind this, Warlock began to enter battle with someone that threatened to undo reality.

Born in California, Arthur Douglas married Yvette and raised a daughter named Heather (who later became Moondragon). One day, while traveling through the Mojave Desert on their way to Los Angeles, they witnessed a spaceship above. In the spaceship was Thanos, who had been on a mission to survey Earth. To rid any evidence of his existence, Thanos destroyed the car with Douglas family still inside. Mentor, who was monitoring Thano's surveillance of Earth at the time, found out that Heather survived the attack, so he took her back to his planet, Titan. Mentor believed that Thanos had grown too dangerous and that he needed to be stopped so he called upon Kronos to find and seize the consciousness of Arthur Douglas before it was too late.
Kronos and Mentor created a body which had superhuman powers and installed Arthur's spirit in it, in the process creating Drax the Destroyer. All of Arthur's past memories were removed and replaced with the hate and pure desire to kill Thanos. Along with Iron Man, Drax battled Thanos and the Blood Brothers. Thanos fled and for years, Drax chased him and had brief encounters with him but never killed him.

True Blood
The L Word
The League

Having no purpose and wanting to do things for the greater good, Gamora joins the team. At first she is not trusted because of her past, but after risking her life to save the others, she is seen in a different light. While trying to close a fissure located inside a Dyson Sphere (an artificial device that encloses a star and uses it for power), the team decides to stop threats to them by turning off the shield that protects them from the star's immense heat. They plan to teleport out, but are unable to do so. Gamora braves the intense heat in order to turn the shields back on, charring her entire body from head to toe. It took some time for Gamora to heal from this. After the Skrulls are found on Knowhere, the team's base, accusations run high, especially towards Gamora. After they find the Skrulls, it is revealed to all that Starlord had Mantis mildly brainwash them into joining the team. Disgusted, Gamora quits the team and heads off with Adam Warlock. After a short run in with the Universal Church of Truth, Gamora and Adam return to the Guardians in order to help them continue to save the universe. During the War of Kings, the Inhuman King Black Bolt unleashes the Terrigen Bomb, which creates a massive rip in space-time known as the Fault. Warlock is able to stop the tear from expanding, but in doing so he had to overlap the timestream, causing himself to turn into the Magus. Gamora, along with many other Guardians, is killed by the Magus before finally being stopped by Starlord and a Cosmic Cube. But this was a trick and the Magus only faked her death, taking Gamora's soul and remaking her with the Church of Truth's belief energy. As a captive of the Magus, she as subject to the torture of their 'interrogators' in an effort to convert her to the Church's beliefs. For a time, it is believed she was turned to their faith but when the other team members broke free of their captors, she fought alongside them. Needless to say, she was not pleased with her time as a prisoner.

Other Work:
Monster
Hancock
Prometheus

Phyla-Vell was created when her brother Genis-Vell helped to destroy and then re-create the universe. The alternate universe that was created was one in which the genetic process that was used to create Genis was so successful that his mother chose to also create a daughter.
Phyla is the genetic (albeit cloned) offspring of Elysius of Titan and Captain Marvel of the Kree, just as her brother Genis-Vell was; as such, she is an Eternal/Kree hybrid. She was aged at an accelerated rate and trained by simulators on Titan in most things. She has been shown to have the tendency to come off as cocky and overconfident because of her extensive training.
She was first seen attempting to neutralize her brother when he had gone insane, in effect helping to partly restore his sanity. She then immediately attempted to lay claim to the mantle of Captain Marvel, to which her brother refused. Also during this time she began a romantic relationship with Moondragon, who had recently been in a similar relationship with Marlo Jones , Rick Jones' temporarily estranged wife. Moondragon was greatly hurt by the dissolution of the relationship, but Phyla piqued Moondragon's interest. It was implied that the two took a vacation together. Sometime later she was seen at the trial of Starfox.

Other Work:
Shaun Of The Dead
Star Trek
Paul

Rocket was approached by his old friend Starlord and asked to become a member of a team that would prevent any more damage to the universe. After helping to contain fissures in space-time, the team still did not have a name. Once they found Major Victory in a block of ice from another reality, he informed them that he was a member of the team called The Guardians of the Galaxy. Soon the team learned that Starlord had asked Mantis to mentally persuade the other members into joining the team. The team split up, and Starlord disappeared. Rocket took it in his own hands to reform the team and lead it himself. After convincing Mantis to become an active member, he also recruited Major Victory, Groot and Bug. After a run in with the Badoon, they were contacted by Starlord, who turned out to be trapped in the Negative Zone.
They successfully rescued Starlord and gained a new team member, Jack Flag. Starlord became the leader once again. Meanwhile, Adam Warlock and Gamora invade the Universal Church of Truth's headquarters, as Adam Warlock wishes to find out more about them, and asks to speak to their captain. Elsewhere, Drax and Quasar begin looking for Cammi, but on their search they talk to a seer who tells them about the oncoming war.

Other Work:
Inglourious Basterds
X-Men: First Class
Prometheus

After Ultron and the Phalanx are defeated, Starlord forms the new Guardians of the Galaxy. The universe was in a very fragile state after the two Annihilation events and fissures in reality were beginning to form and spread. In order to prevent the collapse of the universe he had Mantis telepathically nudge Adam Warlock, Phyla-Vell, Rocket Raccoon, Drax and Gamora into joining his team. This motley crew set up base in the severed head of a Celestial called Knowhere. When Starlord's deception was found out everyone but Mantis quit the team in disgust and sat off on their own quests. Starlord responded to a Kree summons and returned to the Kree homeworld to speak with Ronan. Upon arrival he is shocked to see that they are rebuilding the Phalanx Spire to protect Kree space, he argued with Ronan and then he was thrown into the Negative Zone. He was then forced into helping the newly appointed ruler of the Negative Zone, King Blastaar, into taking over the Superprison 42 so he could gain access to their portal to Earth. Starlord was sent into 42 to convince them to open the door and surrender. Once inside he spoke with the unofficial leaders of 42 and told them not to surrender, but only Jack Flag agreed with him. They tried to stop them but the doors were opened and Blastaar's army was unleashed; after learning of his betrayal Blastaar sent his men to find and kill Starlord. Running for their lives Starlord and Jack Flag located a telepath in 42 to ask the Guardians for help and they were able to escape before being killed by Blastaar.

John Rhys-Davies as The Voice of Groot

Other Work:
Raiders Of The Lost Ark
The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy

Groot Is an alien known by the Kree as a Floral Colossus, though this species was once thought extinct. He was recruited/apprehended by the Howling Commandos, despite his ability to hide in plain site by looking like a tree, because he smells nothing like a tree. He is currently on Hala, as part of a team led by Peter Quill, AKA: Starlord, on a suicide mission to stop a mass-assimilation weapon being developed by the Phalanx Covenant. How Groot got out of SHIELD custody and into Kree space is unknown. Groot is blown up and seemingly killed on this suicide mission, though he is pleased to have this happen as he surveys the situation he's in and deems that it would be a good and honorable death. This is not to be, however, as part of Groot survives and catches up to the rest of his team. The twig-size Groot perches on Rocket Raccoon's shoulder for a time in a bit of turnabout as Groot's shoulder or outstretched hand had been Rocket's preferred gattling gun perch throughout the story up till then. Groot requests moisture and is spat upon by Rocket. Ignoble, but it helped.

Other Work:
Sucker Punch
The Hangover Part II
Dragonball Evolution

Traveling the stars once more, Mantis is imprisoned by the Kree, and remains so until the malevolent techno-organic Phalanx, under the command of Ultron, begin their conquest of the Kree Empire. Drafted into Star-Lord's commando unit, Mantis quickly proves herself to be an effective member of the team, freeing the others alongside Gabriel Vargas, the current bearer of the Captain Universe power, after they are captured by the Phalanx. As the conflict reaches its climax, Mantis and the rest of the team attempt to destroy the Phalanx's Babel Spire, but the mission goes horribly awry when Vargas is killed and Star-Lord is captured. Working together with the rest of the team, they manage to free their leader and heavily damage the Spire, only for Mantis to be badly wounded by Ultron in the final act of the conflict. Mantis, however, survives her close call with Ultron, and now acts as the therapist and councilor to the new Guardians of the Galaxy team, operating from their base at Knowhere alongside Groot and Cosmo. Mantis has foreseen that the team will be betrayed and killed by one of their own nine months in the future, but resists telling them of this fact, for fear of destabilizing the course of the future.

Billy Crudup as Major Victory

Other Work:
Watchmen
Big Fish
Mission: Impossible III

Vance Astrovik was obsessed with space, so much so that he legally changed his last name to Astro. After becoming a major in the U.S. Air Force, Astro volunteered to be an astronaut for the first long-term interstellar space mission. He was put in suspended animation and sent to the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri. On arrival, he found that humanity had beaten him there, and that the main planet had been settled by humans for centuries. He also found that his metabolism had been damaged by a thousand years in stasis and he could no longer remove his life-support suit. Dazed by the shock of these discoveries, he insisted on carrying out his now-useless mission, and wandered into the wilderness to catalog Centaurian life. When the alien Badoon attacked this world, they wiped out both the human colonists and all but one of the native Centaurians, Yondu. It was at this time that Astro discovered that he could release "brain-blasts" of destructive telekinetic power. Astro and Yondu would become members of the freedom fighters known as the Guardians of the Galaxy, and eventually led a rebellion that drove the Badoon from both the Solar and Centauri systems.

Doug Jones as Bug
Photobucket

Other Work:
Hellboy
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer
Pan's Labyrinth

Bug recently was offered a position in the reformed Guardians of the Galaxy. Bug was upset that he was not asked to be on the first roster of the team, and always questioned why he wasn't. On his first mission, the Guardians faced off against the Badoon who were testing weapons on a peaceful planet. When the rest of the original team returned, they split up to try to convince the Inhumans and the Shi'ar to stop their War of Kings. Bug was sent to Hala, where he almost started a battle by insulting Queen Medusa (not necessarily an insult, but it was to her). Things got worse when Phyla took Crystal as a hostage against Starlord's orders. When they returned to Knowhere, they found themselves in between the Inhumans led by Black Bolt and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard. During the battle, the Guardian's captive Starhawk escaped. Starhawk then transported Bug and several others to her timeline. Once there, Starhawk finally convinced them she was not an enemy and that Black Bolt would be the one to create the Fault, a massive rip in space-time that had consumed her time. With their time machine destroyed, the best way to prevent it was to send a message back in time for the others. They were successful, but in doing so allowed the Fault to destroy them. To their surprise, they were not dead but sent adrift in time. The effects of this cause Bug to become younger. After traveling through several alternate futures, they were rescued by Kang the Conqueror, who restored Bug and the others to their normal ages. He sent them back to their own past, just before Adam Warlock would become the Magus. Adam transformed anyway, and much of the team was killed in the process. It was soon revealed that no members had actually died and they were taken captive by the Magus.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Jack Flag

Other Work:
Hesher
Inception
The Dark Knight Rises

Having no where to go and impressed by the fact that in two minutes they were able to fix his broken spine, he stayed on as a member of the team, despite claiming to hate 'cosmic stuff.' He soon found that even an easy day with the Guardians was very complex and demanding. After some botched negotiations with the Inhumans and the Shi'ar to stop the War of Kings, they both attacked Knowhere simultaneously. During the battle, the Guardian's captive Starhawk escaped. She transported Jack and some others to her own timeline. Starhawk had finally learned the truth behind the massive rip in space-time that consumed her reality, only she had to show them for having been wrong so many times. The Fault, as it was known, is caused by Black Bolt during the War of Kings. Unable to travel back to their own time, they send a message to the past. As they prepare for their end when the Fault consumes them, they somehow become adrift in time. This causes Jack to slowly be fading out of existence. With the future Guardians, they use this to their advantage to try to gain access to the lower levels of Avenger's Mansion in order for them to combat the Martians who rule this timeline. It is successful, but before they can use the time machine they slip through time once again. After slipping through several realities, they are saved by time traveler Kang the Conqueror, who restores Jack to his normal self. He sends them back to their own time to stop Adam Warlock from becoming the Magus. Unfortunately, this is not possible and the Magus kills many members of the team. Starlord is forced to kill his friend Adam and the remainder of the team returns to Knowhere, having paid a high price for victory.

Aaron Eckhart as The Voice Of Cosmo The Space Dog

Other Work:
The Dark Knight
Battle: Los Angeles
The Black Dahlia

Cosmo is the head of security of the space station Knowhere. Cosmo has become the liaison to the new Guardians of the Galaxy and assists them in plotting their passport destination and travel to trouble spots in the universe via the Continuum Cortex. Cosmo's loyalty to the team was in doubt after a group of Skrulls infiltrated Knowhere and destroyed the Continuum Cortex. Cosmo was protecting a group of Skrulls and was accused as a traitor by Adam Warlock. Cosmo convinced Adam Warlock to see the truth as he did with Drax and Quasar. Unfortunately things became complicated when Cynosure led the Luminals into Knowhere to kill the Skrulls, forcing Cosmo to protect the same group of Skrulls. Cosmo would have been killed by Cynosure's energy blast if it wasn't for a Skrull who threw himself to take the hit to save Cosmo. Cosmo was enraged and unleashed a telekinetic blast that stunned both the Luminals and Guardians of the Galaxy. Cosmo used this opportunity to explain and apologize for any confusion he had caused.

Angelina Jolie as Moondragon

Other Work:
Beowulf
Wanted
Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow

Heather Douglas was only a child when the villain Thanos came to Earth, and killed her parents because they witnessed his arrival (her late father would later be turned into Drax the Destroyer). She was found by Mentor, an Eternal of Titan, and was brought to Titan to be raised. Intense study of mental and physical disciplines under the Shao-Lom Monks allowed her to tap into her latent mental powers, making her the equal of a Titan in combat, and superior to most. The cosmic entity known as the Dragon of the Moon secretly played on her arrogance and mentally influenced her, causing her to believe she was a superior being, above morals. Even without the Dragon's influence however Moondragon suffers from a bit of a superiority complex as, while she seems to be on a team more often than not, she is never a popular member and is always talking down to her teammates; which is all a big part of what has made her a fascinating character. Throughout her superhero career, she would repeatedly be involved with Adam Warlock; sometimes loosely and sometimes integrally.

Her lust for power causes her to betray Magus to Adam Warlock in the hopes that she will take over as the Church leader. But the Magus is well aware of this, having once been Adam Warlock himself in the same position. He had placed her as Matriarch because he knew she would betray him, thus completing the circle of his creation. After getting his use out of her, Magus drops her into a deep pit. She dies from injuries sustained from the fall, but not before Warlock discovers her and hears her last confessions.

One of Carol's co-workers at NASA was a Dr. Phillip Lawson, who was secretly the alien Kree super-agent named Mar-Vell. When a dormant Kree Sentry robot that NASA had been studying activated and went berserk, Mar-Vell defeated the rampaging robot and saved Carol's life in the process, with the press dubbing the mysterious new superhero " Captain Marvel." Carol became drawn to Mar-Vell and a romance developed between the two. A Kree enemy of Mar-Vell's named Yon-Rogg soon learned of the relationship and kidnapped Carol as bait to lure Mar-Vell into a trap. When Mar-Vell came to the rescue, Yon-Rogg deployed forbidden Kree technology called the Psyche-Magnitron in an attempt to destroy his enemy. During the battle the Psyche-Magnitron, which had the power to turn thoughts into reality, exploded and Captain Marvel shielded Carol from its radiation with his own body, causing Carol to absorb much of his own genetic template. Carol's wish to stand with Mar-Vell as an equal rather than a helpless victim completed the process, and her DNA became a perfect synthesis of Kree and human genes. After Carol recovered from the explosion, she had gained superhuman powers much like those of Captain Marvel and her alter-ego even wore a costume patterned after that of the Kree hero. Intimidated by Earth's superior technology, most Alpha Centaurian tribes established peaceful relationships with the settlers. Black Bolt was born as Blackagar Boltagon to two of Attilan's top geneticists, Agon, head of the ruling Council of Genetics, and Rynda, director of the Prenatal Care Center. Subjected to the mutagenic Terrigen Mists while still an embryo, Bolt was born with strange powers surpassing even the Inhumans' norm. As an infant, he demonstrated certain energy-manipulative abilities which he could not yet control, particularly that of producing quasi-sonic energy of great destructive potential. To protect the community, he was placed inside a sound-proofed chamber and given an energy-harnessing suit. Agon then tutored his son in how to control his powers, until he was permitted to re-enter society as a young man, having promised to never speak of his powers.

The alien that Joseph Green acquired the Gauntlet from, also left a matching left power glove, that has made its way to Sasha Martin, otherwise known as Southpaw. Gabriel managed to escape and was found by geneticist Moira MacTaggert., and she invited him to join a group of young mutants that were under her tutelage. He accepted and took the name Vulcan. Professor X recognized Vulcan's relationship with Cyclops, and reunited the brothers.

Born to the Eternals Mentor and Sui-San, Thanos was subject to the Deviant gene at birth. As a mutant of Titan (a moon of Saturn) he had a purple, hide-like skin along with strength and other physical abilities surpassing that of other Titans. This mutation also augments the powers he possesses as an Eternals. The most powerful Titan, his skin is able to absorb cosmic energy and transfer it to his use. Though never by his family, Thanos was feared and shunned by his fellow Titans even as a youth due to his uniqueness. His brother, Eros, was groomed to eventually replace their father surrounded by loving friends and family. Knowing that he would never be accepted by the others like his brother was, Thanos distanced himself for being different. Though one fateful day in an all but forgotten subterranean temple, young Thanos too found companionship in the guise of Death. After decades their relationship grew into a dark and forbidden romance. Under his Deaths tutelage he grew even stronger and more powerful, well versed in the black arts, long forbidden on Titan. She taught him knowledge is power and that power is everything. With these revelations and maturity, rebellion against Mentor and exile were not far away. When his father discovered Thanos conducting fatal experiments, he exiled Thanos from Titan. Fueled by his hatred Thanos would amass vast knowledge, skills and power via mysticism, meditation and bionics, during his century long sentence. Having surpassed all the others Eternals in power and strength, Thanos decided to return to Titan. Yet his heart was still filled with unbridled hate. He attacked his the planet with nuclear weaponry while orbiting Titan. However Thanos had miscalculated Titans defenses. Only a handful of what was thousands survived the horror. Only by chance were his brother and father not on Titan during the attack. To Thanos' regret his mother was not so lucky. She was the one member of his family he might have spared. So Thanos left Titan and returned to space. Proving his devotion and worth to Death was all that now mattered to the titan. During his times in space Thanos conquered and pillaged many worlds acquiring vast resources such as an assortment of followers, technology, weapons and space crafts.

Hey, you used my Drax pick! Sweet :)

This is pretty cool man, definitely well thought out! But I don't think this really reflects the direction Marvel is taking this movie.

As as cool as it is that you took the time to sit down and cast all these characters, I think many of them are unnecessary.

But, overall, some nice choices. Good job!

I wasn't trying to go for what I think Marvel should do, I just thought it was a good time to fan cast this ever since the announcement of the movie and cast everyone who appeared in all 25 issues

Good cast but Charlize and Fassbender are too big named to be in this as is simon Pegg. But it's a fan cast so what the hell

Great lot of work here!

The main cast is well-cast!

I don't see ROCKET RACCOON with a BRITISH accent
like the animated ROCKET but PEGG would be good
as a BRITISH rocket raccoon.

I see ROCKET with a flat AMERICAN ACCENT.
The BRIT accent is too cartoonish!
It should stay with the animated ROCKET.
I mean ROCKET RACCOON ain't BRITISH!
lol

I believe that THANOS should be an older actor.

I've got the same NOVA, JARED PADALECKI.
Great pick!

A FANCAST is a casting for an actual movie,
not every last character that was in the whole
entire comic series!
A lot of these characters are superfluous and
unnecessary.

But of course you were going for the whole
volume!

But nice job and amazing ton of work!

I covered at least 3 movies here

Yes, you did! AT THE VERY LEAST 3 movies!

It would sure be nice if some of these skimpy casters
could look at your great work here and see how a
fancast should be written! With background info on
the comic characters and series and thought and
actual writing going into it all! After-all it
IS an ARTICLE for an online entertainment news
site!

I sometimes scrimp myself on the info but that's
only for characters who are extremely well-known.

They need to look at your writing here and all
that you've done and realize how it's SUPPOSED
to be done!

Oh, my God, this cast is huge! Well, let me get crackin' then!

- Nice to see Alexander Skarsgard cast as someone other than Sabretooth.
- Charlize Theron's a number one stunner and always great with roles like Phyla-Vel.
- I might have to side with DDD. Even if the British Rocket Raccoon was entertaining in Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, I think Rocky is American, right?
- Ah, Xena the Warrior Princess. Great role you've given her.
- I haven't seen Christopher Meloni voice any roles similar to Ronan the Accuser, but who knows, he could work.
- I'm into seeing Yvonne as Mockingbird, but knowing she's rumored for Ms. Marvel, I can't disagree with that choice.
- I don't know how Spirit of Vengeance is supposed to sound like, but I'm sure it has to sound more threatening than Silas Weir Mitchell.
- Looks like Laz has to put on his Avatar make-up again for Yondu, huh? Good on ya, mate!
- I believe Crystal is younger than Isla Fisher. Plus, not sure about a Wedding Crashers redux with Rachel MacAdams starring as older sister Medusa.
- Manganiello is a big mothertrucker, and so is Gorgon. So...
- Triton is a martial arts master. I doubt John has the moves to bring the character to life at his age.
- Oh, dude, we might need someone more threatening and crazier than Jason Schwartzman to play Maximus the Mad.
- Gotta go younger than Hugh Laurie dude. How about Matthew Morrison or Michael Fassbender?
- Ah, I'm digging Ladies Love as Gauntlet! Probably one of my favorite choices of this whole cast!
- Nova's adventures start when he's a teenager. And Jared in his 30's. But then again, Andrew Garfield passed as a teen in Spider-Man, that's Hollywood!
- Great to see Colm Feore in an original role that isn't Professor X for the millionth time.
- Chucky looks alot like the Baron, so good idea!
- I wouldn't have imagined Marcus Fenix's voice come out of Ch'od. You made a believer out of me!
- Not bad with your Dragon of the Moon choice. His Magneto would sound good coming out of the character.
- If you want Lucas Till as Havok, this would have to take place in the 60's. Other than that, it can't happen.
- I believe Korvus should be a little younger than Christian Kane and closer to Deborah Ann Woll's age.

Top-notch cast, bro. How about you take a look at my Deadpool and Spider-Man casts when you get around to it.
