Oliver Queen, The Emerald Archer Trilogy

Oliver Queen, The Emerald Archer Trilogy

A trilogy of films I've concocted detailing the life, struggles and journey of Oliver Queen as he grows and becomes the Green Arrow, hero of Star City and eventual member of the Justice League.

Directed by Paul Greengrass, Kathryn Bigelow, and Martin McDonagh (respectively)

A film director is a person who directs the making of a film. Generally, a film director controls a film's artistic and dramatic aspects, and visualizes the script while guiding the technical crew and actors in the fulfillment of that vision.

Reasons: Greengrass is a proven modern master of action, maybe only second to George Miller. The Bourne films are huge successes and critical darlings and he's shown great character work in films like Captain Phillips. If anyone should get the audience on board and invested in the story of Oliver Queen it should be Greengrass. For the middle child of the trilogy I would give the helms to Bigelow as she's a great director often focusing on characters and tension filled moments as seen in arguably her most known film in The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty. For the swan song of the trilogy I would choose Martin McDonagh who is one of my favorite directors period, responsible for masterpieces such as In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths. A solid trio of directors like this could elevate a character like Green Arrow to Batman levels of popularity.

Screenplay by Taylor Sheridan

A screenplay writer, screenwriter for short, scriptwriter or scenarist is a writer who practices the craft of screenwriting, writing screenplays on which mass media such as films, television programs, comics or video games are based.

Reasons: Taylor Sheridan is responsible for penning episodes of Sons of Anarchy and most notably the critically beloved Sicario which starred Emily Blunt and Benecio del Toro. Sheridan has another project coming up as a writer by the name of Wind River starring Elizabeth Olsen and Jeremy Renner. Sheridan has a very bright future ahead of him as a writer and with what he has done so far I think he'd be an excellent addition to the behind the scenes people for this trilogy.

Production Design by Dante Ferretti

Production designers are responsible for the visual concept of a film, television or theater production. They identify a design style for sets, locations, graphics, props, lighting, camera angles and costumes, while working closely with the director and producer.

Reasons: Ferretti is perhaps one of the most renowned production designers in Hollywood, responsible for Gangs of New YorkHugoSweeney Todd and The Aviator. As a film fan his work is just amazing and if I want someone to be behind the visual concept of a movie I'd pick Ferretti every time to work with either of the three directors I've chosen.

Cinematography by Claudio Miranda

The cinematographer or director of photography (DP) is the person in charge of actually shooting the film. He is the head of the camera and lighting departments, and as such he has a big role in the making of any movie.

Reasons: Claudio is a talented individual that has worked on really huge films like Fight ClubSe7en, and Life of Pi. He recently worked on Tommorowland and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. With Miranda in charge of shooting the film we would get some epic shots and stunning visuals and a historic and different take on Star City that would separate it from the show.

Film Editing by Eddie Hamilton

On its most fundamental level, film editing is the art, technique, and practice of assembling shots into a coherent sequence. The job of an editor isn't simply to mechanically put pieces of a film together, cut off film slates, or edit dialogue scenes.

Reasons: Hamilton is very renowned for editing comic book films as he's worked on X-Men:First ClassKick-Ass and Resident Evil. He's also worked on the Mission Impossible films and Kingsman The Secret Service. Kingsman's editing is what made me choose him as the fight sequences in that film are nothing short of amazing. Hamilton is good at capturing the raw and immediate urgency of the situation needed which would be good to have for Oliver Queen's story.

Costume Design by Sammy Sheldon and Michael Wilkinson

Costume designers create the look of each character by designing clothes and accessories the actors will wear in performance. Depending on their style and complexity, costumes may be made, bought, revamped out of existing stock or rented.

Reasons: Sammy Sheldon is very comic accurate costume designer as she's worked on X-Men First ClassV for Vendetta and Ex Machina. Sheldon has frequently been one of the best at what she's done and continues to impress as she's done the costumes for the upcoming Assassins' Creed. Michael Wilkinson has worked with DC in the past as he worked on Man of SteelWatchmen and 300. Both of these creative powers combined could quite possibly craft some of the best costumes ever put to screen.

Now onto the people you'll actually seen on-screen

Charlie Hunnam as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow
Oliver Queen was a spoiled, thrill-seeking playboy, until he was left stranded on a deserted island for several years. There, he trained to become a master archer in order to survive. After his return home, he used his new-found skills to became the costumed vigilante known as Green Arrow.

Reasons: We've all seen this before time and time again (even I've done it) but that's because it's so damn perfect of a casting.  We've all heard the reasons such as looks, acting, and proven likability. Since we all know that we should move on to the rest.

Gemma Arterton as Laurel Lance/Black Canary
Dinah Lance was born into a family of crime fighters; her mother was a vigilante and her father is a cop. She grew up with the company of heroes, and after years of training, followed in her parent's footsteps by assuming the costume, identity and legacy of her mother Dinah Drake, The Black Canary.

Reasons: Gemma is known for appearing in some pretty meh to terrible films like Quantum of SolaceHansel and Gretel Witch Hunters (a guilty pleasure of mine) and Prince of Persia. Her crowning achievement being The Disappearance of Alice Creed and The Voices alongside Ryan Reynolds. Arterton is a gifted actress that has proven she can show dramatic chops and can do action which is why I believe she could be the perfect Black Canary.

Logan Miller as Roy Harper/Arsenal
Green Arrow's first sidekick, Roy use to be known as Speedy but later became Red Arrow and Roy Harper has grown to become one of the most accomplished marksmen in the DC Universe. After being abandoned by his mentor, Roy now goes by the name Arsenal.

Reasons: Miller is a very talented young actor that has appeared in films like The Stanford Prison Experiment and Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse. A very promising actor I feel could bring good character to Roy Harper. With Roy being the incarcerated former sidekick of Oliver, I would want him to have an arc and conversation with his former mentor but avoid the cliche "Red Hood" storyline but also see him in flashbacks acting as the right hand man to the Green Arrow.

Kaitlyn Dever as Mia Dearden/Speedy
A former prostitute on the streets of Star City, Mia Dearden picked up the bow and took the name "Speedy", crime-fighting student of Green Arrow. She is one of the few superheroes with HIV and was a member of the Teen Titans. Mia was raped by her father, then taken in by a pimp, Richard, and moved to Star City. She was prostituted by Richard, and was saved by Green Arrow (Oliver Queen) from a councilman. After that, Mia begins to work at the Star City Youth Center, after quickly guessing that Oliver Queen is Green Arrow. She later becomes Green Arrow's ward.

Reasons: Dever is arguably the most talented young actress working today with a breakout performance in Short Term 12 and good stints in J. Edgar alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Justified. Dever could easily bring the emotion and believability to the character of Dearden and be a force on-screen alongside Hunnam and the others.

Jessica Henwick as Shado
Shado's father, a man named Tomonaga, was Yakuza and knew where a Yakuza fortune was hidden. Former OSS agents attempted to discover that fortune after the war, and killed his wife to make him talk; Tomonaga executed seppuku thereafter. The Yakuza took his orphaned child to be raised as their instrument of vengeance, and gave her to a master kyudoka, Yoshitomo, so he would raise her. Shado is a trained Bushido and kyudo master and lethal with a bow. She is the mother to one of Green Arrow's sons and has appeared in Green Arrow's life more than once.

Reasons: I love Henwick on Game of Thrones and her performance in the show garnered her a spot in my fancast and she recently made her movie debut in Star Wars The Force Awakens. Considering she'll be a big part of Oliver's story I wanted to go and cast an actress not everyone may know and I think she would own the role of Shado because pretty much everyone on Game of Thrones is a guaranteed good actor (still don't know why Kit is doing shit direct to DVD films though).

Maggie Q as Jade Nguyen/Cheshire
During the Vietnam War, American soldier Robert Pullman had an affair with a Vietnamese woman, leaving her pregnant with a child who would later become one of the deadliest and feared assassins on the planet. The girl was named Jade and spent ten years of her childhood being raised by her mother alone until she was separated from her. Cheshire is one of the deadliest assassins in the DC universe. She is an expert in both martial arts and the use of poisons.

Reasons: Maggie Q is a very good actress appearing in such films like Live Free or Die Hard and Mission Impossible 3. She's had starring roles in Nikita and other films and rarely delivers a bad performance which is why I think she could make a good Cheshire and be a very vital part of Oliver's story.

Vincent Cassel as Arthur King/Merlyn
An expert assassin with his bow and arrow, Merlyn hires himself for a hefty fee, working with such villains as Maxie Zeus and Syonide. He has battled Green Arrow and Black Canary on several occasions. During his first few years as Green Arrow, Oliver Queens heroic reputation found itself capturing the attention of another experienced bowman known as Arthur King, who was also taking up the stage name called Merlyn the Magician. Openly challenging Green Arrow to an archery duel, Merlyn found himself shocked when Green Arrow bested Arthur in the match.

Reasons: Cassel is best known for Black SwanIrreversible and Eastern Promises. Cassel is a very acclaimed actor and known to give excellent performances nine times out of ten. Cassel could easily portray a ruthless enemy of Oliver's who is known to track him down for his own pleasure and for a bounty, making him a worthy adversary and often clashing with the hero of Star City.

Ashraf Barhom as Ra's Al Ghul
Ra's al Ghul, whose name translates to "The Demon's Head" in Arabic, is the centuries-old leader of the League of Assassins. He seeks to purge humanity of crime and corruption, utilizing the rejuvenating Lazarus Pits to maintain his immortality. Though Ra's seeks to make Batman his successor, Batman opposes him.

Reasons: A lot of people don't see Ra's as a true enemy to Oliver Queen even though the show Arrow has made him such. Whatever side you take on the matter I see it as necessary to include him in my vision for a trilogy as Ra's will set up the dynamic for the relationship between Oliver and Batman. Ra's frequently doubting Oliver's abilities and comparing him to Batman much to his chagrin, leading to them butting heads when Oliver is inducted into the Justice League. Barhom is known for his performances in such films as The Syrian Bride and Paradise Now.

Ray Stevenson as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke
At the age of sixteen, Slade Wilson was determined to enlist in the U.S Army, so he ran away from home and lied about his age to be in the army. He soon showed talents and skills in guerrilla warfare far superior to that of any other soldier in the army and was quickly promoted over and over by his superiors. Genetically engineered to surpass all human limits, once a soldier, Slade Wilson now works as one of the most feared assassins in the DC Universe. He has frequently clashed with the Teen Titans, the Justice League, Green Arrow, and even Gods!

Reasons: If you read my previous Green Arrow fancast you'll know this was my Deathstroke choice and I stick to it because Stevenson is an awesome actor that could easily portray the ruthless killer known as Slade Wilson that's tangled with many DC heroes and villains alike. Ideally I could see Deathstroke being the villain of the final film in the trilogy, cementing Oliver's legacy as a hero when he defeats the man who's defeated members of the Justice League on several occasions.

Benjamin Vicuña as Detective Andrew Lopez
A detective in the Star City police force who has developed a good working relationship with the Green Arrow. A prominent figure of Star City authority, Lopez tries his best to keep the identity of Green Arrow a secret while also trying to find it out for himself.

Reasons: A side character I feel could be greatly expanded upon in a feature film, Benjamin is a really good actor and could poetry the detective with ease. It's actually unknown to me if he can speak fluent English but it's not hard to work around that in a film environment.

Teresa Ting as China White
China White is the leader of a heroin cartel. Her opium fields and refinery were on an unnamed island. She had enslaved the natives of the island to work for her. She supplied the bulk of heroin for Pacific Rim. She now operates in Star City as a big time drug lord and foil turned ally of the Green Arrow, supplying him with information on her known associates and past victims.

Reasons: Ting is a pretty good actress known for her stint on Orange is the New Black and headlining Crimson & Slate. Ting is competent and with three great directors behind the camera I'm sure they can get the best out of her which is probably more than needed for a character as tertiary as China White.

Sophie McShera as Adrien Rivers
Oliver Queen's executive assistant. Adrien is known to be the head of the company when Oliver is MIA, which garnishes her a respect from the heads of Wayne Enterprises and Oliver Queen himself, trusting her fully with the direction of the company.

Reasons: Sophie has had a stellar career, being in Downton AbbeyWaterloo Road and recently the critically acclaimed Cinderella. It almost feels like a disservice to not have her as a main character.

Lance Gross as Lucas Hilton
Lt. Lucas Hilton was a police officer from Star City, who became an ally of Green Arrow and Black Canary. He helped the heroes in their hunt for Cupid, It was during this battle that his skull was pierced by a hunting knife. Hilton survived the wound, but the knife cannot be removed without killing him. The damage his brain suffered, anyway, causes Hilton a massive personality disorder, and he becomes violent and aggressive, arriving to the point of shooting a cop point blank. Green Arrow is forced to hunt down his former friend, hoping for a future cure.

Reasons: Gross has been seen campaigning for the role of John Stewart, arguably the most notable Green Lantern, but as talented as I think he is I doubt he's good enough to carry that role. I'd personally do away with the brain damage bit of his story and just have him as a supporting officer working with Detective Lopez to defend the Green Arrow and his associates.

Giovanni Ribisi as Will Hackett
Hackett is a British man who was trained by the British Army. He worked as security for Oliver Queen, taking him on thrilling trips, such as trekking through the Arctic. He gets Ollie to invest 14 million dollars on "a luxury resort in Fiji", which, unbeknown to Ollie, is really a opium field and refinery, on an unnamed island.

Reasons: Ribisi is a very underappreaciated actor that deserves much better work than films like Ted 2. I'd love to see him take on a dramatic role as the thought to be friend of Oliver Queen that is eventually killed by China White.

Ewan McGregor as Onomatopoeia
Nothing is known about the origin of Onomatopoeia. It is possible that he is from Delaware and had a brother who was killed by a masked criminal. In his secret identity he is apparently a well-adjusted and functional member of society, as he is married and has two children, none of whom are aware of his secret identity. He keeps a secret trophy case in which he displays the masks of the heroes he has killed. At some point he set his sights on the Arrow family.

Reasons: McGregor is one of the best and most flexible actors working today and I think him along with the direction of McDonagh could bring a character said to be not filmable to the big screen in a grandiose fashion, cementing himself as a force to be reckoned with and a true wild card to the Green Arrow.

Kristen Stewart as Carrie Hartnell/Cupid
An obsessed admirer of Green Arrow, and has taken it upon herself to hunt down his enemies to prove her love to "her man". She nurses an extreme hatred for the Black Canary.Carrie Hartnell was a special-ops soldier, working for a top secret program called Cobalt, who thought her husband Ross abandoned her. During a mission in Georgia she encountered something that deeply disturbed her. She volunteered for a program that would make her fearless. It also turns her emotions up to the extreme when it came to falling in love. Other effects included memory loss and increased strength. She fell off the radar for a long time. Years later, she found out that her husband Ross was still alive tracked him to Star City and killed him. Green Arrow thought that the unknown man was abusing his wife so he shot the arrow. Cupid picked up that arrow which began her obsession with Green Arrow.

Reasons: Kristen gets a lot of shit (a lot less now) for her stint in Twilight as do the other actors involved (the only one who deserves it is Taylor Lautner) but like her co-star Pattinson she's slowly but surely building a reputation as a good actor and can handle herself when given good material to work with.

Carrey Mulligan as Chloe Sullivan
Chloe Sullivan is the best friend of Superman, cousin of Lois Lane, the administrator of the Watchtower and a member of the Justice League. She was the long time girlfriend of Jimmy Olsen, but after his death Chloe married Oliver Queen. She worked as a journalist for the Daily Planet but was fired by Lex Luthor. Right now, Chloe works as a journalist for the Star City Register.

Reasons: Carrey is a great actress and Chloe Sullivan is a character we've often seen relegated to television series so I would love a big name actress like Mulligan to give her the big screen treatment and be the proper wife of Oliver Queen, ironically being the cousin of Lois Lane. She's the one that gets Oliver in contact with the Justice League through Superman and Lois.

Martin Starr as Henry Fyff
Henry Fyff was an employee of Q-Core, until he was personally fired by Oliver Queen for allegedly stalking fellow employee Naomi Singh. However, after Queen Industries was bought out, the Q-Core building destroyed, and Green Arrow barely surviving a fight with the newly-emerged villain Komodo, Ollie turned to Henry - now working in a Chinese restaurant - to provide technical support. Henry personally rescued Naomi from being strapped to a bomb by Komodo, and the two would become the support team for Green Arrow

Reasons: I envision Fyff in this trilogy to be similar to Weasal in Deadpool and I think Starr is the guy to do it with good comedic timing and personality to bring to the character. Being his debut in the big screen medium could mean a break for the character in the comics and more exposure similar to what Arrow did for Felicity and Diggle.

Jeff Daniels as Mayor James Cameron
In this iteration I would James Cameron as the mayor of Star City and frequent opposer of the Green Arrow, calling for his immediate arrest and reveal of his identity to the masses although being saved by the hero on multiple occasions. Cameron even strikes deals with Maxwell Lord against good conscience and Lord's reputation for being untrustworthy.

Reasons: Jeff Daniels is an amazing actor, giving great performances in films like The MartianSteve Jobs, and The Newsroom. Daniels can play a variety of roles and in my opinion would be a more than spectacular choice for a character that should be given depth and a layered approach to his disdain of the hero the Green Arrow while also being a trusted supporter of Queen Industries.

Mark-Paul Gosselaar as Maxwell Lord
Maxwell Lord IV is the son of Maxwell Lord III. Maxwell Lord III was a good business man who always had enough to help others and also his family. Maxwell the III always made an effort to do what was right and be a great example for his son. At the age of sixteen, Maxwell Lord IV came home to find his father dead to an apparent suicide. Max was told by his mother that powerful people are always evil and that he must have control over them all. She stated that if Max ever meets powerful men or women, then he must plan every step.

Reasons: Gosselaar is an underrated talent that hasn't had the right role to suit his skills yet. I think Lord could be that role for him, a corrupt businessman that seemingly befriends the Justice League but eventually reveals his true colors as a ruthless puppet master.

Ian Whyte as Solomon Grundy
Solomon Grundy is a reanimated corpse stemming from a cursed place near Gotham City called Slaughter Swamp. He has had many appearances in which he had different levels of strength and intelligence, once surpassing even Superman in power level.

Reasons: Solomon is a tough character to bring to the big screen as he'll undoubtedly require CGI to give audiences the sense of the behemoth the monster truly is. That being said, Whyte is a good character actor as he's done body performances for PrometheusClash of the Titans and Game of Thrones. Whyte would make an excellent Solomon Grundy in my opinion.

Nichole Bloom as Sandra Wu-San/Lady Shiva
Sandra Woosan was the goddaughter of the martial arts expert O-Sensei. When Sandra Woosan’s sister was killed, a mysterious man approached her and convinced her that Richard Dragon had killed her. Sandra became determined to avenge her sister's death, but knew that she had to train if she were to have any hope of defeating Richard Dragon. While training, Sandra discovered that she had a natural talent for the skills and movements required for martial arts. Sandra is perhaps the deadliest assassin in the DC Universe.

Reasons: Bloom is known for her stints on Shameless, Guest Appearances and Superstore as well as film roles in Project XModel Minority and Teenage Cocktail. Any of the three directors I've chosen could easily bring Shiva and Bloom to the spotlight and steal the show and become the highlight and mainstay of the franchise, guaranteeing inevitable reoccurring appearances throughout the DCEU.

Nonso Anozie as Danny Brickwell/Brick
Daniel Brickwell, known on the streets as "Brick", was born and raised in Star City. As a child he was raised by his aunt after his mother passed away. She owned a pit bull that would attack him on sight, so he put the animal into the dog fights three times a week. This not only provided him with an income but it also kept the animal too exhausted to harm him. In his adult life, Brick ended up in prison for twenty four months in Chino and returned to Star City more dangerous than ever.

Reasons: Anozie is an established big man actor. Not only known and used for his size but has shown incredible range in his stints on Game of Thrones and Zoo, as well as playing a villain in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit going up against Steve Trevor himself Chris Pine. He'd be more than  capable of portraying and possibly giving some much needed personality to this brute of a villain and have him be a memorable on-screen character for audiences to remember.

Miles Teller as Simon Lacroix/Komodo
Simon Lacroix, the man who became Komodo, was born into a poor family, but became a high-ranking member of Queen Industries; he was even taught archery by Robert Queen, father of Oliver Queen. Lacroix was part of Queen's expedition to find the legendary "Green Arrow" - a mystical arrow belonging to the head of the Arrow Clan, said to bring its owner true enlightenment and even immortality.

Reasons: Hate Fantastic 4 all you want but Teller has a bright future and I wouldn't be shocked in the slightest if another studio picked him up for a multitude of characters. The man gave an incredible performance in Whiplash and has since then been considered one of the breakout young actors of his time, making him perfect for Komodo in my opinion. The young actor has even been getting really good screening reception for his role in Bleed for This, making him the other actor besides Michael B. Jordan to follow up that movie with a great movie, both about boxing nonetheless.

Jim Caviezel as Ted Grant/Wildcat
Pro-boxing star Ted Grant, inspired by stories of The Green Lantern, became a superhero to clear his name. Wildcat has served as a mentor to many younger heroes including Batman and Black Canary.  It was on one fateful night at the warehouse that Ted's life would change forever. One of the warehouse unloaders was being ambushed by a couple of thugs. Ted fights off the thugs and the unloader is astonished by how Ted is able to read each thug's move before they make it. The thugs run off in fear and Ted recognizes the unloader as Mike "Socker Smith" Muldoon, a washed up prize fighter. Muldoon decides to promote Ted as the next heavyweight champion of the world. After a string of knockouts in pro bouts, Ted was eventually hailed as Wildcat.

Reasons: Obviously for this role I wanted to get an older movie star that's still in relatively good shape. I forwent the obvious picks like Matt Damon or Stephen Lang and went with an oddball choice of Caviezel, a gifted actor who's day is far from done on the big screen. Caviezel has the charisma and undeniable charm and physical frame to play the character and if not there's always gyms and actors get big and small all the time. Just look at Christian Bale why don't you? But back to the topic....

Christina Chong as Blood Rose
An android who wields pistols and is romantically connected to Midas, she carries some sort of grudge against Oliver Queen. It is unclear who built her as Midas denied having constructed her though he seems to possess the skill to as he tends to her repairs. She had Midas imbed circuitry in unfortunate individuals so that she could track the Green Arrow who she thinks might be in her way to strike at Oliver, who she has been amassing data on for years.

Reasons: I've decided against having the character be an android in this iteration as I feel that simply creates a one-note and uninteresting character. I'd personally opt for her being a highly trained martial artist and assassin with information on Oliver's father, who's story seems to be fluctuating between being dead and being a spy that was revived in the Lazarus Pit by Ra's to torture poor Oliver. Chong is another actress that appeared in the blockbuster phenomenon knows as Star Wars and also made some appearances on Doctor Who and 24.

Stephen Dorff as David Cain
Cain is notoriously known as one of the worlds most dangerous and lethal assassins, it is because of this it is no surprise that such a deadly man would be a member of the League of Assassins. One of the things that had made Cain such a dangerous person was his careful planing and preparation for the future. This caused Cain to seek an apprentice to train and become his eventual successor. Cain introduced the idea to the leader of the League of Assassins who was Ra's al Ghul. Ra's agreed with Cain's plan as Ra's wanted the apprentice that Cain would train to be a body guard for him.

Reasons: I'm not actually quite sure how Cain would fit in this planned trilogy but I do know I really love the idea of the character and I could see him being injected in a multitude of ways, That being said Stephen Dorff is a really good actor with his filmography including films like NankingI Shot Andy Warhol and Backbeat

Titus Welliver as Werner Zytle/Count Vertigo
Count Werner Vertigo is the last descendant of a royal family in the small Balkan country of Vlatvia, until the end of World War II when it was enveloped by the Soviet Union. Count Vertigo first appeared in Star City, attempting to steal back the family jewels his parents had sold when they escaped to England after the war. He uses a device implanted in his head to disorient his foes.

Reasons: With DC and Warner Bros. using their collective pull to get people from their successful pictures I can certainly imagine them getting Welliver who's appeared in three of Affleck's most successful films getting a call. If he were to get that call I would definitely want to see his take on a notorious Green Arrow villain in Count Vertigo. Welliver has also been on the same program as the intended star, that show being Sons of Anarchy. I would love to see his take on this amazing villain and be a intimidating force for our hero to overcome.

Ellen Barkin as Moira Queen
Moira is the wife of Robert Queen and mother of Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow. Grateful for her son's safe return after being presumed dead she eventually discovered that Oliver was indeed the Green Arrow and instead of scolding him, used her resources and business knowledge to help him sustain his secret to improve their city using legal and illegal methods.

Reasons: Ellen Barkin is simply a great actress giving amazing performances in The Big EasyDiner and Down by Law. I actually first saw Ellen in The Normal Heart alongside Mark Ruffalo and she impressed me to the point I figured I had to give her some sort of spot in a future fancast.

Cary Elwes as Robert Queen

Robert Queen is the husband of Moira Queen and father of Oliver Queen, the Green Arrow. After apparently dying in a lion attack in Africa when Oliver was a small boy he was resurrected using the Lazarus Pit and operates under the League of Assassins, eventually having to face his own son.

Reasons: Whether you think this is a good choice or not I'll be the first to say it's very cheesy but I would simply love to see the man that played Robin Hood himself be the father of the hero inspired by the very character. It's not just for fan service though as Elwes is an incredible actor even outside of his notable classics like The Princess Bride. He voiced Aquaman in an animated movie, he was in UprisingGlory and even The Adventures of Tintin. Elwes can carry a role and would have no issue being the man, the myth, the legend Robert Queen.

I would like to personally like to thank everyone that took their time to read this as it's my first offiicial Trilogy fancast. If you enjoyed (or if you didn't) just know there will be another one soon for the Caped Crusader himself.

You got a like from me for all the hard work you've clearly put into this and also its been so long since we've had a DC fancast on here. Going to be honest though I don't really recognise most of the names but that's not a bad thing and I love Hunnam as Green Arrow.

Good choices for all the roles, Jim Caviezel is a good actor and I used him as John Connor in my Terminator fancast.
Gemma Arterton needs a comic book role soon, as she is stunning.
Well written article and you used a lot of unique choices. Well done.

Wow, what a [frick]ing huge cast! And another good one right after BobGarlen's Punisher cast! Thanks for being one of few who keep this site from being a hornet's nest of DC ballwashers and douchebags who shit on everything the likes of you do (which is why DDD is no longer with us).

- Interesting choice of filmmakers. Why no composer though?
- Whoever you want as Green Arrow, I don't care. Hunnam has been overused, but if he's a big-time fan favorite for a long-time, who am I to judge?
- The Black Canary was originally a brunette, so I can't shit on you for going with Gemma Arterton. She has the moves for a role like this, so good job!
- Jessica Henwick is interesting. And she's become a fan favorite for Ada Wong for a new Resident Evil movie series.
- Never heard of your Ra's Al Ghul choice. My pick would be Oded Fehr, seeing as he's done stunts, and actually voiced the character well in Young Justice.
- I also have Ray Stevenson for Deathstroke!
- Well, Giovanni Ribisi cast as a mentally stable individual makes my day!
- Great image comparison of Cupid and Kristen Stewart. You know for damn sure she's owed a role where she isn't brooding.
- Jeff Daniels did ooze sleaze in the earliest trailer for Allegient. I wouldn't doubt his ability to play Mayor James Cameron.
- Ballsy choice for Maxwell Lord!
- I might go with an older choice for Shiva, unless you have no plans to include the character's daughter, Cassandra Cain, in your DC universe.
- Miles Teller was in Whiplash before Fantastic Four. I don't think anyone hates him, last I'm told.
- I never knew Matt Damon was cast a lot as Wildcast. Jim Caviezel in the role? Interesting!
- Ellen Barkin is class, and someone who I couldn't imagine turning down a shot to appear in the DCEU.

Top-notch fancast! Hope it gets to the front page, but it won't, when all the DC ballwashers keep this place from being decent.

I recognized most of the actors you used here. I applaud the hard work you put into. I think Charlie is a great fit DCU version of Green Arrow, an upgrade from Amell's Arrow. Arterton is a bold move, definitely not a blonde but she can carry one the sassy, sexy, mysterious canary. THUMP UP

You put a lot of detail into this and l like that, but l can't stand Charlie Hunnam and Miles Teller. That being said other than those two guys l'd be fine with the other cast members. But with how young you want Lady Shiva to be sadly I don't see my favorite Batgirl, Cassandra Cain existing.

I'm very happy you want both Roy and Mia. Both bring a lot to the mythology of Green Arrow and need to be a part of it. I'd like to see in a GA sequel Cissie King-Jones joining the team. I know I'm most likely the only one that liked her, but l feel she could add some more heart to the team.

I doubt that all three directors would work on the movie though. Because they're powerhouses in their own right. But if they did l could see them putting something sweet out together. One question though is who'd you want as composer?

@BlackIceJoe - I think he meant to say that each director would helm a film each, but I can see where you got the idea of it meaning three directors per film instead of one to each movie.

@BlackIceJoe - No problem, but again, I see where you're coming from.

Fantastic! I've been looking for another Deathstroke in steed of Joe Manginello, and Ray Stevenson is a really good, original idea. My favorite pick though is Jim Cavieziel as Grant, which is perfect. I personally have Jim as The Eradicator in a Superman film.

I have to admire the time you put into doing such work with such a large cast Chloe isn't necessary though. I am a huge fan of your Wildcat its so spot on. Your Red Arrow is unique so I'm always for that. Hunnam as Green Arrow is a no brainier, you can't go wrong there, Gemma as Canary is nice I have her as a Birds of Prey member my self. Your Ras is pretty solid as well. Overall I'm a fan and I am a bit jealous cuz I haven't put together my Arrow cast yet. Thanks for the motivation.
