@Talia Great find.
Much better extras than I thought would be on it. I will be getting this but I think I will end up selling superman 3/4. I can't stand them at all.

Well, I'll be damned... it's not a bad set and they didn't just port over the Extended Version and the Donner Cut. It'd be awesome if the Fleischer cartoons were in HD. It'd be nice if they have ALL of the deleted material, but that's what the fans are for!

@Denn1s, you should buyit is on High-Def and includes the never before scene from Krypton in Supes Returns, what i dont like is the Fleisher cartoons shoehorned in those discs why they dont release it separately? and they still need a remastered treatment!

So many great extras on there. I recorded the 1988 tv special on vhs back in the day - would love to see it again, even though it will of course now be ridiculous. I still think it would have been good to include Supergirl, but we can't have everything.

What was the original opening scene to Superman Returns? Anyone.
aaronite1999
aaronite1999 - 3/31/2011, 9:32 AM
I believe the original opening to SR was:

Comic strip opening showing baby Kal-El and the end of Krypton
followed by:
Newspaper reports about Superman and his disappearance (during credit sequence)
followed by:
Adult Superman in spacecraft amongst the destroyed remains of Krypton
dancingmonkey08
dancingmonkey08 - 3/31/2011, 10:10 AM
and that is a very nicely packed boxset, now as long as the price isnt over the top, this could be well worth getting, at least for the special features...theres only two really good movies

I think it is a really good way to celebrate the overall original Superman franchise

Hopefully we will get a glorious rebirth for the Superman franchise with next year's movie

@ aaronite1999 - Sounds good, I think they should have kept it. Didn't the re-release of Superman The Movie have some kind of comic strip style opening aswell? Y'know the four disc version?

This is not even worth the price. The Reeve films- BORING, Superman Returns- EVEN MORE BORING...
