According to a scoop from August Ragone (the author for Eiji Tsuburaya: Master of Monsters) the 2016 Toho Godzilla reboot will begin filming before the month is out! In addition to that, it is said that the new Godzilla design will strongly resemble the original 1954 design, and be horrifying in the process. “(This new) Godzilla is based on the original (1954 version), but is going to be... frightening.” Says Ragone’s source, who broke the news about the film’s release back in 2014.

As for the actual filming, a Japanese casting call has been released that is looking for extras in the Kanto area through September and November. With the film set to be directed by Hideaki Anno, and Co-directed by Shinji Higuchi we should be getting our first design for the “revived” King of monsters very soon! What do you think about these details? Are you looking forward to this film? Sound off below in the comment section with your thoughts!

Godzilla is like the Hulk for me as long as there's destruction and smash I'm in.

Although the 2014 version was Okay, I don't think this one can beat the 2014 version in design imo.

The Japanese Godzilla films are all so cringey. When the first film of a franchise has better acting than the tens of films to follow it just gets pathetic. More hyped for the 2018 American film tbh.

I just hope either of the two coming Godzilla movies will somehow incorporate the original Godzilla theme:

I really didn't t like the idea of a hero Godzilla. I wanted him to be a violent force of nature bringing nothing but terror and the events of the film to be a catastrophic like in the teaser trailer with the dead bodies and destruction.
If they keep making more heroic defender Godzilla films they should at least make him frightening, that last scene with the people smiling and tearing up as he walked back to the ocean made me cringe a bit.
Still liked the film though

I will be watching this. Might be good. Might be bad. But either way, 'm sure I'll love it.
The 2014 version? Still haven't seen it. Don't really feel the need. It's Zilla 2. Fvck that shit.

For Toho to compete with Legendary’s Godzilla!

That's some big shoes to fill I don't think the Toho were to happy they got showed up.

Most Japanese cgi movies come off a little under cooked.

But either way it's still a kaiju of mass destruction fun all the way.

@speedyg33

The Hulk & Godzilla have a lot in common.

1.Both were created by bombs
2.Both are big & green
3.Both are fueled by rage
4.Both leave a path of destruction
5.Both have collided with the military on numerous occasions.
6.Both fight other heroes/villains be it man or monster
7.Both have been classed as hero & villain in different situations.
