Stana Katic May Star In A Live Action Authority Movie?

Stana Katic May Star In A Live Action Authority Movie?

The Castle star may have made her way into another comic book movie, Also being in "The Spirit"

Dean Haspiel Wrote this regarding the movie:

"The Governor’s Ball was a starry sight. Hollywood throws a party. ‘Nuff said. I met and spoke to Stana Katic, star of TV show, CASTLE, and told her how much I loved her in Frank Miller’s SPIRIT movie [she was my favorite part of the movie]. I have a very short list of who I would cast to play my very own Jane Legit character [Billy Dogma's better half] and Stana is on that list. Stana told me she was in the midst of creating a new comic book and was in talks to act in a movie version of Warren Ellis’ THE AUTHORITY."

CO-Creator of Authority Warren Ellis commented on the status of the movie:

"I don’t own THE AUTHORITY, and DC are certainly not compelled to tell me about anything regarding the book.

What an odd thing."

For Anyone like myself who aren't to familiar to this series i have taken an excerpt out of wikipedia

"The Authority is a superhero comic book published by DC Comics under the Wildstorm imprint. It was created by Warren Ellis and Bryan Hitch, and follows the adventures of the Authority, a superhero team mainly composed of Ellis-created characters taken from Stormwatch—a title Ellis had previously written."

Yes it is so Watchmen centric. I love this series and it should be interesting since 2 of the members are gay, not that I like it but it should generate some unique atmoshpere. Glad comic book films are getting more serious.

That could work against it.The comic book is a very violent superhero tale that's generally aimed at males. With two gay leads.I can't see that going over too well with the general public.

Depending on how they portray the characters, are a lot of people going to want to see a superhero movie with a gay theme?I'm inclined to say no.Hell, there are barely any mainstream movies with gay leads in general, it's too early for gay superheroes.

Then there's the gay audience. Are they going to be too thrilled that there are finally gay heroes on screen, but they are these excessively violent a-holes?Probably not.

Then you've got the press and the parent groups and so on.If they want to make this movie, with the content in check, I don't really think it's the proper time to do it.

Nice!!
But uhm... didn't Nathan Fillion say he was to busy to play antman because he was shooting for Castle. So wouldn't she be kinda busy too?

Spilox, I guess it depends on when they are filming.Avengers is supposed to start in February, while Castle is still filming. If the film were to shoot in the summer, she could do it.

If this movie gets made, it could be another year or two before it films, and Castle could very well be off the air by then.

The Authority on the big screen...wow. I'd only want to see this movie made if Warren Ellis in involved in it,actually. If they adapted the Relentless GN,with Kaizen Gamorra and his super-powered army of zealots,I might entertain seeing this several times.I'd also be interested in how they'll depict the Carrier, the Bleed,Hawksmoor's whole"God Of The Cities" powerset...Casting this movie in itself is going to be very hard to do...By the way.I'm still waiting for them to greenlight Planetary as either a movie or a TV show...
