Battle Poll: Ghost Rider vs. New Orleans Police Department. I'm going with the NOPD. Actor Nic Cage was arrested in New Orleans this morning. This from the Associated Press:

Authorities say actor Nicolas Cage has been arrested in New Orleans on charges of domestic abuse battery and disturbing the peace.

The Orleans Parish Sheriff's office says Cage was booked into the Orleans Parish Prison at 11:30 a.m. Saturday.

Cage has been a frequent visitor to New Orleans, where he has owned property and shot movies in the past.

New Orleans police did not immediately disclose details about his arrest. An agent for Cage did not immediately return a phone call Saturday.

According to TMZ, "Nic's wife is not a complaining witness and does not want him charged -- and says there was no physical contact." Cage is still in police custody and as of 11:30 MST, A bail of $11,000 has been set.

The actor just wrapped filming on the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance which is scheduled for release next February.

Only disturbing the peace stuck. Wife didnt press charges, and he tempted the police by shouting 'Arrest Me! I dare you!' or something like that. Pretty much they told him to go home and he made them arrest him. Slap on the rest, small fine, good day sir

@N Yeah they can carry guns and actually enforce the law and intimidate criminals. I guess it is a big difference from the rape whistles and squirt guns European cops carry...
