Nicholas Cage has told MTV about his plans for another "Ghost Rider" movie. He has always been vocal about his thoughts on where the character should go if the studios were to green light another movie. But a sequel may not be on the cards. Cage wants to "reconceive" Johnny Blaze and his flaming hellhog.

Cage told MTV News that he’s looking less toward “sequel” and more toward “reboot” for the next “Ghost Rider” film..



I didn't think the first movie was an absolute disaster but it was pretty bad..especially the ending. I think they should just do a sequel and simply make a better movie this time! Reconceive? [frick] off!

I think they need to make it more darker then funny the first one hade to many light moments I mean this is Ghost Rider and they made him a little to cartoony

The Ghost Rider comics that I've read are brilliantly written and if Marvel would take hold of this project, allow room for a Hard-R rating, it has the chance to be the best and darkest Marvel movie so far.

I could care less if Cage reprized his role, while the first one wasn't good I don't blame that on Cage; with the crap script he had to work with he did a fairly decent job and could do better if the movies made right. But if someone else gets picked, I won't be crying.

I really like Ghost Rider in the comics. So it was cool seeing him do his thing live action. GR LOOKED great in the movie, his ride was great. I thought all that was very well represented.

But the villains were SO bad. That part was stupid, and needless to say Peter Fonda as Mephisto was about as intimidating as Don Knotts and that little emo guy as Blackheart was hard to watch.

The first GR was crap! Nic Cage should never have taken that role! Nic Cage needs to stay the hell away from CBM's! could anyone really believe in his Johnny Blaze? I sure as hell couldn't! Reboot it with someone else!

Read my statement above. Yes, the first GR movie was bad, but it definitely wasn't because of Cage, if anything he saved the movie because of how bad the script was, how horrible the villains were, and how bad the love interest was. Also, the man who played the old GR in the movie, while he's a good actor, the makers should've stayed away from having more than one GR in the movie.

@ Krypto....I agree about most of that....but I contend that Nic Cage shouldn't do comic movies....or if he does, something that's not so serious....he just wasn't that good in it, in my opinion. I was stoked as hell that they did the movie, but i wasn't into his performance, and Sam Elliott was pretty good, but I agree, only one GR was needed.

I don't think Cage was the reason the first movie was so bad, it was a combination of a horrible script, and the director spending too much time focusing all of his energy on the main protagonist, and what seemed like little-to-no time or energy spent on the villains!
I understand that it would have cost a substantial amount of money to make the bad guys "scarier" than the Spirit of Vengeance, but with Mephistopheles running around as a geriatric, cane walking, cardboard/hack acting has-been, and an emo/whiney/bitc#-boy Blackheart, this movie had "FAIL!" written all over it!
It still had SOME redeeming qualities... But then again, it also had about 5 scenes of Nick Cage pointing his index founger out at someone, and whispering "You!"

god almighty, why reboot it!? does that mean the origins all over again? for [frick] sake - the first one wasnt great but it doesnt need a reboot. thinking about it, ghost rider doesnt even really need another movie...

Anil Rickly: i heard about JMS leaving - i think he's fallen out with Marvel again over Thor being usedin Secret Invasion - its a pity if Marvel lose him, hes a great writer (apart from his run with Deadato on ASM which was awful) Brubaker would be a great replacemet though or Dan Slott - i hope they keep Copiel though.

Man they really need to make another Ghost Rider movie.....but lets keeps Cage out of this one. Out of all the actors out there, Why did they pick him? I never liked this choice personally. So im down for a reboot or a sequal but lets Do some MAJOR casting overall on this film.

This movie was the worst comic book movie ever made! the dialogue was horrible (probably written by supermike) the action was garbage, the villains were weak, and WHO IN THE [frick] TAKES AN 8 BALL TO A RESTAURANT?!! the director ruined ghostrider, daredevil, and elektra. he deserves to DIE!

Droopy - in 'Ghost Rider's' defense, it really wasn't the '...worst comic book movie ever made...' - that honor belongs to (and I'm sure we all can agree on this one) Joel Schumacher's 'Batman - Death of a Franchise'! With that said, aside from some pretty cool CGI and an ALWAYS brilliant performance by Sam Elliott (he pretty much can do no wrong in my book), there was (how shall I put it) 'room for improvement'. I agree with Osiris - beef up the writing and let's see what happens...

As for 'Daredevil', I know I'm probably in the minorty here but I rather liked it (especially the director's cut). 'Elektra' on the other hand, is another matter. The fact that it DID have Jennifer Garner in a spray-on leather outfit didn't save the film.

i contend that Nic Cage should not only stay away from CBMs, but all movies in general. the only one hes ever done that i liked was Con Air. he cant act worth a damn and pretty much ruins anything i end up watchin with him in it. his last chance with me was Knowing and that absolute crap fest now has me convinced that he should just call it quits.

Worst ever? Yeah, i can't think of a worse one than Batman And Robin. I mean at least you had nice scenery in Catwoman!

Anyone that thinks Cage cant act needs to watch a few movie made before the [frick]ing millennium! Birdy, Leaving Las Vegas, Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, Rumble Fish..Cage was great in em all. He just makes brutal movies these days..doesn't put any effort in.
