Thanks to the guys over at Newsarama, we have all the coverage from this years C2E2 Green Lantern panel hosted by Executive Editor Eddie Berganza, Green Lantern artist Doug Mahnke and Green Lantern Corps artist Tyler Kirkham. For a ton of details about the various comic book series, you'll have to head on over to the site by clicking on the link below, but what follows are the main highlights from what the panel had to say about the movie adaptation.

Of his Green Lantern set visit, Reis said, "I was like Alice in Wonderland. I could see the process of the design, and I could see how the comics influenced the movie design."

Kirkham said the ring constructs in the comic are beginning to resemble the ones in the movie.

Fan asks about the Green Lantern movie, specifically the decision, in the fan's mind, to "deviate" from Hal Jordan's personality with one that's more "comical." "He almost seems more like Kyle Rayner to me," the fan said.

Berganza said they're working "very hard on the special effects," which is why there hasn't been a new trailer.

Berganza said if you ask any woman if they're going to see the movie, they will, because of Ryan Reynolds. "And some of the men!" a fan next to me exclaimed.

As far as the movies influencing the comics, Berganza said it's the "other way around."

Berganza listed the Green Lantern movie prequel comics, coming out in May.

Green Lantern is set to be released in 3D on June 17, later this year!

I am so psyched about this film! Reynolds is perfect as Hal! The special effects is gonna be good too. Kyle Rayner is a far out shot. I can somewhat understand the Reynolds choice. The same would go for Hemsworth and Evans too, though I think Reynolds can act.

Give me the trailer now. They've had plenty of time!

oh and I gotta admit that dude is right about the whole women seeing the movie because of reynolds. Why? because I'm one of those women. I mean THIS is one of the main reasons *other than being a GL fan* that I am gunna watch GL:
ryan reynolds Pictures, Images and Photos fantastic :D

of cause they working on the special effects their realise the CGI suit was a bad idea. yes i agree the suit is made from the ring but they should of had a actually suit and add CGI on to it.

this makes me wonder how was rapper/actor 'Common' Green Lantern suit looked liked for the failed Justice League movie.

also Green Lantern should of been done by ILM

has any gl fan read secret origins which this film is having a big influence from?

Hal was very witty and comical he was exactly like Reynolds in origins

Yeah. In Secret Origins Hal Jordan was pretty witty. So picking RR makes perfect sense. I was always down with him playing the part anyways! Especially since it was either him, Justin Timberlake, or Bradley Cooper. He'll bring in a crowd. My mom's even going to see this one! xP

SOOOO excited for this movie, BRING ON THE TRAILER!

ILM are good at making Robotic and mechanical things but when it comes to organic cgi we end up with the scorpion munster at the end of the mummy returns. Also have you seen their work on fan helsing and the first hulk movie(Im sorry but the hulk in that movie looked like a southpark character lol)

I find it funny that the article makes it sound like they outright ignored the question about the "decision" to make Hal Jordan more "comical" and "Kyle Rayner-ish."

However, I agree that if you read "Secret Origin," that's how Hal acts! Fans need to lighten up.

As for the news that the second trailer is being held off until more time is spent on the VFX, I say good. I think the fans that complain both about the VFX in the first trailer and are yet complaining about the lack of more footage are full of it. Stuff takes time. You don't wanna' see more uncompleted shots, then it's gonna' take longer for the next trailer.

Besides, what does it matter when you see it? Are people really going in their heads, "If the second trailer doesn't come out by March 19th, I am boycotting this film!"? Lame.

Geoff John's run on Green Lantern has introduced many people to GL, and it's highly praised, so why wouldn't they base it on that version of Hal? Just because a few hardcore fans wouldn't like it? Haha... Yeah.

My only concern with the film was the CGI on the suit. I have no problem with cgi itself, I recommend it, but it HAS to look impressive though, otherwise, it won't work and people will turn away. Take Transformers or I, Robot for example, the cgi is top notch.

still the cgi suit looks off

frogslapsh- That's what I've been saying. People are dying for a trailer. But y'know what? They put out the first one before it was finished and ALMOST EVERYONE COMPLAINED ABOUT IT. Now they're perfecting it and people are tired of waiting. Fanboys need to sit back and really think for a minute... xD

He doesn't. When did Kyle ever say "let's get out of these pants and fly some planes"?

Kyle Rayner really wasn't comedic and Hal does have some humor all of what happened in the trailer has happened to Hal in the comics people are just focusing that Reynolds is playing Hal.

And honestly no one should be surprised there is not more footage CGI tends to cost allot and is being heavily used.

Well I really hope there is a HUGE improvement with the trailer if that is the case. I almost gave up on this movie. The next big action movie for Warner Bros is Sucker Punch and so I REALLY hope there is a new and improved trailer on there.

Either way I still liked the first one

It's nice to know that they're still working really hard on the visuals.

people can stop [female dog]ing about how bad the effects on the first trailer was cuz they wont be the final product!! (Which i think people should've realised in the first place!)

I for one can't wait!!!!

I smell a disaster coming. I'm no GL pro but no new trailer and the fact the first one was less then captivating leads me to believe that things are not turning out the way they planned. With the other CBM's this summer I wonder if they will be pushing this one back?????

I guess all the complaints about the CG paid off. The execs noticed the complaints and ordered the team to better the CG. That's actually good news.

i think they REALLY felt the backlash on the first trailer regarding the CGI work and are working their asses off to bump things up a notch. and they really have to...otherwise this potential multi million dollar franchise could fall flat on its face....
