Marvel Studios presents “Guardians of the Galaxy”—A big space epic featuring an unlikely cast of Marvel characters, including Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot and Rocket Raccoon, who must team up in order to defeat a cosmic force of epic proportions. Starring Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond and Lee Pace and directed by James Gunn from a screenplay by James Gunn, “Guardians of the Galaxy” is based on the Marvel comic book series “Guardians of the Galaxy,” first published in 1969 and relaunched in 2008. Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures will distribute “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014. In addition to “Guardians of the Galaxy”, Marvel Studios will release “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” on April 4, 2014; the sequel to “Marvel's The Avengers” on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

I think it's a jacket for the TV series MASH. It was stylized with asterisks between each letter, the "H" is just obscured by his shoulder strap.

The more I think about this movie the more I'm like why the hell not? I have no desire to read a comic book about them, but sure I'll pay money to watch a talking raccoon and a tree blow shit up.

Now hopefully Marvel stops being so classes and cheap towards their actors.

Wrestlers are glorified actors/stuntmen. It's redneck theater, I'm sure he can handle the subtle "depth and nuances" of the comic book character he is portraying. Let's be real dude it's not like he needs to be Daniel Day Lewis here.

Bautista isn't that bad of an actor, he was pretty good in The Man with Iron Fists and he was pretty much like Drax in that.

the comic book is one of the best cosmic titles from marvel of the past 5 or 6 years,the new series is good as well.

i f*ckin love guardians of the galaxy,the thanos imperative is one of the best cosmic stories ever!

That's great you have standards dude, but like I said he doesn't have to be Daniel Day Lewis here. "The Rock doesn't count because he left to pursue acting" what kind of full retard logic is that? He started acting while he was a wrestler and he returned to wrestling. You can't just discount him because he's decent.

Those actors may have "sucked in every roll they have ever been in" but here's the thing dude, the wrestler they portray is a character. Sure they aren't the best the business has to offer when it comes to actors, however they don't have to be for this film. It will be fine, get your head out of your ass, and open up your mind for once.

I've never really even heard of GOTG before. but if it can be made into a film and executed perfectly. i'm down to go watch it when it releases. @ Marvel79 HHH was actually pretty funny in Blade:Trinity, and I too was also let down. the first two films were amazing though.

Zoe Saldana is the most uninspired casting in this one to me but oh well. I can't wait for this one. Good to get something so different feeling.

I really hope they keep star lord's helmet with full face mask from the comics. It reminded me of some weird mix of german kaiser/steam punk. It just seems like every time we have some interesting look from the comics we love hollywood scraps it all together. Which, for me, always ruins some of what I love about the character in the first place.

Guardians are awesome. The 2008 run and the new one are good. Thanos Imperative is one of my all time fav stories.

And to whoever said something about Bautista, hes been taking acting lessons not that he'll be needing them. Drax is just angry all the time. All he needs to do is channel his inner animal. See what I did there?

This is the movie I'm most exited about. Gotg is my favorite comic book series and I'm not just jumping on the bandwagon. And of course I love the rocket raccoon!
