Batista's return to the WWE hasn't been a success. While he was received well when he returned, the decision to have him win the Royal Rumble didn't sit well with many fans and they quickly turned on "Bootista". With Guardians of the Galaxy promotional duties around the corner, the wrestler has taken some time off, but his role in the Marvel Studios movie has found its way into WWE storylines, as a way of explaining his absence from upcoming shows. So, first of all (to give you some context), here is Batista quitting during this past Monday's episode of Raw.
In his weekly interview with WWE.com, WWE COO (in real-life and on television) Triple H addressed Batista's decision to quit, saying "What do I think about Batista quitting? It's not the first time he quits, probably won't be the last time he quits. It's what Dave does. He quits thing. Never really sees them through. He wants to run off to Hollywood and play Drax the Destroyer in his Guardians of the Galaxy movie, good for him. I hope it works out because I know Dave well enough to know he doesn't have a plan B." Marvel recently aired an exclusive Guardians of the Galaxy sneak peek after a broadcast of Raw (it was a recut version of the second trailer), and with Batista expected to return for SummerSlam, we could see even more of the movie on WWE programming. Hugh Jackman recently appeared for X-Men: Days of Future Past, so could the entire cast of Guardians of the Galaxy assemble in the ring? That's the rumour!
As an added bonus, here's a very funny reference to The Walking Dead courtesy of fan favourite WWE superstar, Bad New Barrett from a recent episode of Main Event from the WWE Network.
