According to Screen Daily, Marvel will be taking their upcoming sci-fi CBM to England when James Gunn's Guardians Of The Galaxy gears up for its Summer shoot. The movie will head to Shepperton Studios (of the Pinewood group) where Thor: The Dark World also filmed some scenes. Recent major productions to shoot at the studios also include Maleficent, Jack Ryan and The Muppets sequel is due to get underway soon. Still no casting announcements for GOTG, but it seems every in-demand male between the age of 25 and 40 has been "in talks" for the lead role of Star Lord, so I'm sure things will at least be narrowed down pretty soon.

Don't worry, he'll deliver... Oh and btw, this movie needs some beautiful shots. And the action needs to be in a grand scale, grander than The Avengers. We need a good cinematographer.

I'm hoping that this is promoted the hell out of coming up to it's release next year. This franchise is relatively unknown

And I can already tell a mainstream star will play Star lord...nobody will take notice if this is quite a unheard of comic series anyway...to general movie goers

I said this before in another thread after a drunken viewing of Always Sunny reruns, and I stand by it moderately sober: Danny Devito for Rocket's voice. Hell, I also stand by a more left-field Sunny cast member for Star-Lord: Glenn Howerton. He might need to hit the gym a bit, but I think he's ready for a lead role and this one feels right.

Now, back to drinking to see if I can squeeze Rafi from The League into this movie somewhere...

wonder if Marvel is developing an animated show previous to the movie like they did with The Avengers.

If they want to appeal to the younger audience, a tv show would be a smart move

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET IT BE JOHN KRASINKI AS STAR-LORD!

I mean, The Office is ending.

He is only contracted to do one film, which is a sequel to his romantic comedy. Thus, he'll finish that in a few weeks. Not to mention the sequel takes place in London.

He works with James Gunn's ex wife, Jenna Fischer, on The Office.

Krasinski's other co-worker, Rainn Wilson, has worked with James Gunn on the peculiar Superhero flick, Super.

John Krasinski's wife, Emily Blunt, was offered the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2.

And John Krasinski himself was #1 in line for Joe Johnston's Captain America: The First Avenger, but passed it on to Chris Evans because he felt he didn't fit Steve Rogers' character.

I am a major fan of his work. The Office is incredible, and though many have not seeked out much of his work and think he is a bland actor, he is not.

Sam Mendes' (Skyfall) film, Away We Go, really brought out the diverse acting skills John has and Something Borrowed showed us his range in dramatic situations. John would Own Peter SO hard!

What about the other characters?
