The guys at Joblo have posted a handful of Disney movie scoops, with some notably surrounding Marvel's upcoming ventures. Dropping details about the base of operations for Guardians of the Galaxy, the report also affirms a bit of speculated news on Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Moving along, despite actor John C. Reilly recently boarding the James Gunn-directed film as Rhomann Dey, it seems the Universal weapon-wielding character known as Ronan The Accuser will still be a main villain in Guardians of the Galaxy. And the mad Titan Thanos will indeed "play a large role in the overall scheme of things." More interestingly, the report goes on to reveal that the Guardians will "operate out of their base of operations, called Knowhere, a space station with the ability to teleport throughout the universe." This location, which has been described as an "inter-dimensional crossroads and scientific observatory," is located inside the decapitated head of a floating Celestial in the comics. Also on the Marvel front, Joblo says Captain America: The Winter Soldier is basically a "sequel to The Avengers and plays the biggest role leading into The Avengers 2." Plus, with Scarlett Johansson having a leading role in the 2014 sequel, it's no surprise the film will "go more in-depth on Black Widow’s back story and gadgetry." What do you think?

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, John C. Reilly, Enzo Cilenti, Lee Pace, Karen Gillan and Glenn Close with Benicio Del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is written & directed by James Gunn, and is set to be released in theaters on August 1, 2014.

Isn't GOTG taking place in a different dimension but Earth and the rest of the universe are still present?

Lol, the people making fun of a talking raccoon and tree forgot that Gullimero Del Toro's "Heaven Sent", will feature a living/talking plant. (Swamp Thing)

Damn, so Ronan might be the main villain huh? That would be nice if one day the Kree/Skrull War made it to the big screen. Excited for CA: TWS too.

They called them "marital aids" back in the day.

GOTG is going to end of being the Green Lantern movie of the Marvel Universe. You can't have a fu.ckin talking raccoon and expect the movie to be good.

Thanos sends his son Ronan after the guardians to retrieve something from them. Though I do think the Hitflix article plot is the correct one.

@113 There are a lot of weird things in comics that are being translated to film. James Gunn seems to be working towards a great film. GOTG is gonna be the opposite of Green Lantern. It's gonna be a successful cosmic comic book movie.

@113 Yeah, the talking raccoon really strains the credulity of the whole movie.

Lol looks like I really hit a nerve.

Listen, I'm happy to see all the Marvel moves do well, I hope GOTG does well too

It just seems far fetched that a talking raccoon and talking tree are going to be a big box office success.

@MarvelPsycho79

Lol dude, look at what you just wrote. You're analogizing a GOTG movie with Alvin and the Chipmunks C'mon man, even if I was actually trolling I wouldn't insult Marvel like that.

There was a time that landing on the moon was considered far fetched...

That a Spider-Man movie was considered far fetched...

That a show aimed to little girls about anthropomorphized ponies could catch a huge adult male demographic was far fetched...

That a C-List character like Blade could spun a successful trilogy was far fetched...

That a shared universe like the MCU was far fetched...

Stranger things have happened, 113, stranger things have happened...

all i gotta say is if GotG turns out making TONS of money and really well liked by the audience and the critics, it will put WB's Green Lantern into shame even MORE.

Fair enough. But I'll remain skeptical of this film until I actually start seeing trailers and TV spots and reviews from the CBM community.
