It looks as though Tim Burton is looking to his usual actors for his latest film project Dark Shadows. Some may find this news not much of a surprise, as Burton seems to rely on this group of actors for just about every film he does. Having said that, I'm not sure he could rely on a better group of actors.
Michelle Pfeiffer is in talks to play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. And while talks haven't begun yet, I'm told Helena Bonham Carter is in line to play Dr. Julia Hoffman.
Pfeiffer, as you all know, worked with Burton in 1992's
Batman Returns along side Michael Keaton and Danny DeVito. The actress would be playing the matriarch of the Collins clan, Elizabeth Collins Stoddard. This character is the owner of Collinwood, the estate where this entire saga unravels.
Bonham Carter would likely play Hoffman, who is a specialist in psychology and rare blood disorders. Inititally, the character is a threat to Barnabas, but ultimately becomes an ally, who may be the person who is able to cure him of his want and need for blood. Bonham Carter was recently nominated for an Oscar for her role in
The King's Speech
The two actresses would be joining Johnny Depp, Eva Green, Jackie Earle Haley and Bella Heathcoate. With this news, I wouldn't be surprised to see the likes of Christopher Lee and Alan Rickman join the party.
