Zack Snyder's Army Of The Dead Might Be Back On, Will Feature Rapist Zombies

Word is that Snyder's long thought to be abandoned Zombie flick (not a Dawn Of The Dead sequel) might be back on with a new director and these Zombies have a very unique way of replenishing their numbers.

Back before Zack Snyder signed on for Watchmen there was talk of him revisiting the horror genre with another Zombie movie, though not a sequel to his previous remake of George Romero's Dawn Of The Dead. This movie was to bne called Army Of The Dead and would deal with a father who is trying to free his daughter from a quarantined Las Vegas, with the government building a wall around the city to contain the spread. But plans for the movie seemed to fall by the wayside as Snyder went on to bring us Watchmen and is now tied up with Man Of Steel.

Well it appears the movie is back on (with Snyder as producer, and IF the studio decides to move forward) but with The Thing's Matthijs van Heijningen Jr at the helm. While speaking to io9 the director let slip a few details, including the sick new way in which these Zombies will transmit the virus. Heijningen Jr reiterates the planned story details and reveals that these Zombies will be fast just as the ones in Dawn. He also says..

There's an extra dimension to this zombie film, because they…. they…. I'm still wondering if I should tell this…. the male zombies rape human females. Yes. And they have human hybrid zombie offsprings. It's a new take on the zombie genre, which is crazy.

Yes it is. As big of a horror/gore fan as I am I'm really not sure I fancy seeing Zombie rape, at least no more than once. Maybe the story will find a way around making it too gratuitous, but I'm baffled as to how subtle one can portray a dead creature forcibly impregnating a victim. Isn't that also necrophilia...kinda? Anyway, what do you guys make of this? Something you'd be looking forward too?

Yeah but think about it..we will surely be seeing lots of Zombie attacks right? If these creatures new instinct is to impregnate rather than simply bite their victims we will most likely see them at least attempt to rape someone every time there is an attack. That sounds like overkill to me.

Not interested in seeing that. Not surprised though. Snyder has always been a bit excessive in his work. Well, more than a bit. The sex scenes in Watchmen and 300 were just to excessive to work in the artistic build up of both films. Dont get me started on the violence. And Suckerpunch could have been a wonderfully fun film, but his lack of subtly on certain parts made it too hard to feel for it I guess.
JULEZ13
JULEZ13 - 10/9/2011, 8:20 PM
thunderforce hit it right on the nose! That is exactly what I was thinking! How could they get hard if there's no blood flow since they are DEAD!?!

Will there also be zombie on zombie action or just zombies raping live humans?!?

Anyway. This kinda reminds me of The Hills Have Eyes movie I believe, I don't know which part but that scene with the infected man turned mutant raping that female soldier was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen in my life!! This is similar but taking it up a level.

Not sure how I feel about this! This is horrifyingly disturbing. I guess Hollywood can't find any ways to actually scare the shit outta movie goers anymore.

Horror is a dying genre. (If there are no zombies apparently!)

RANDOM: Wait! So since vampires are the "undead" does that make them zombies too?!? hmmmmm....
