Shane Black's
Iron Man 3 did incredibly well at the box office. Critics for the most part gave it solid marks. However, fans have been divided by it's big twist, which is Ben Kingsley's Mandarin isn't really the Mandarin. He's actually, Trevor Slattery, a drunken British actor hired by Aldrich Killian (Guy Pearce) to give Evil a face.
So, when Kingsley was doing press for
Ender's Game last week, and the actor told the
Belfast Telegraph that he worked on a secret Marvel project, hope began to arise. Could Marvel rectify the Mandarin mistake?
Latino-Review.com seems to think so.
According to sources, Marvel wants to make it up to fans so in the one shot, the REAL Mandarin is furious with Aldrich Killian and Ben Kingsley’s character Trevor Slattery for the mockery they made of the real Mandarin’s identity and legacy. The real Mandarin wants to set the record straight.
Yes, the REAL Mandarin.
How is he going to set the record straight? That I don’t know. Who is going to play the real Mandarin? Don’t know either. Wait and see. - El Mayimbe
